  1. I can go with that. Pujols is one guy I absolutely love as is Dontrell Willis, but Willis has to prove himself more. IN all honesty, Dontrell could turn out better then Prior, who knows. So many things can happen. But Prior, Dontrell, Pujols, Soriano, Bonds, Vladdy they are all amazing.
  2. Anderson won and in my opinion it was one of the best home run derby's I've seen. Tons of fresh faces and man can those guys hit. I was rooting for GA and was glad to see him win. Oh ya, Pujols also showed why he's the best.
  3. Buehrle should never be traded.
  4. It doesn't use much any if you have an energy star computer.
  5. Contra owned
  6. Baseball Stars was freaking awesome. I never knew anyone else who had the game, but that was freaking tight. That was the game made by SNEK right? or something like that.

Its great seeing all is well Nuke. Take care and come home safely.
  8. I thought the crowd was good and man Arod is such a sharp guy. The guy could do whatever he wants, imo. And hearing him say all those nice things about Chicago, damn would he of looked nice in White Sox pinstripes. Too bad he didn't accept the offer. Also, Dontrell seemed like a really cool kid. Its great that the Marlins get a kid like him and Lowell. Hopefully they'll keep those two (If they don't send them to the Sox ) and use them to build a real good fan base in South Florida.

Michelle, if the playesr were smart they would owe the money to the game. And without the fans they wouldn't get the salaries they get. Just like without people wanting to go on the internet, the internet companies (Ya Bad example) wouldn't get the money they get.

Sorry Michelle and Jason, but you are way off here....... The players SHOULD want to be honored to play in this game. It SHOULD mean something to them. Do they have a legal obligation to play? No But you have to be kidding me thinking that a guy wanting an extra 3 days off rather than playing in a showcase that is 70 years old is okay. Family illness, I understand. But just not playing because someone doesn't want to or they are not legally obligated, is ridiculous. The players very much DO owe themselves and the game of baseball the courtesy of not being so damned selfish. Guys like Curt Flood fought in court to get them the money they make now. The players in the past were on year to year contracts and often got decreases if their numbers went down at all. Now, players want guaranteed contracts for MILLIONS of dollars. HELL YES, they owe the game, they owe the players from the past who made this game what it is today, and they owe themselves to do the right thing. Rex, I agree 100% that they should be there. I'm just saying there is nothing forcing them in the contract and that if a player doesn't want to then thats perogative. I think the All Star Game shoudl be an honor and the players should be there. It meant a lot more back in the days because the bonuses actually meant something, although Prior got like a 1.5 mill bonus for making the game, which I'm sure meant something to him. If it were me in this situation I'd definately be playing because it means your one of the very best, plus from the looks of it the players have a ton of fun just joking around with the other players and fans.
  11. Ya, starting with the next one I'll find out exactly where the school is located. I'll also go through tomorrow and make changes to the ones that I just did.
  12. Well I hear he really knows football so maybe it won't be a bad thing.
  13. Typically teams will draft quite a few catchers latter on because so few ever pan out and its a position thats so thin. Also remember that a lot of guys won't end up signing so they aren't really a part of the organization till they sign. One of the catchers, Deuchler (40th or so) is doing very good thus far in the minors.
  14. I'd like the game to mean more, but it has to be the players that want it to mean more, not baseball trying to say it decides the playoffs. I think the game means a lot to these guys, in the terms of pride. They all try to go out and make a bigger name for themselves. In last years game how cool was the play where Hunter robbed Bonds and then Barry joke tackled him. That and seeing Lasord going flying down about two games ago are some recent memories I have. Well that with Konerko and Maggs having damn good games last year.
  15. Was that the guy Pete Rose took out?
  16. Yes, I feel Wood deserved to be in there. Him and Prior have been excellent. Willis has been great too, but Willis should of got in over someone else. Wood deserved to be there.
  17. SN Report: Loaiza Selected to Start All Star Game By Mario Scalise July 14, 2003 SoxNet.net (SN Report #569) - On Monday, White Sox ACE Esteban Loaiza was selected by all-star manager Mike Scioscia to start the all-star game on Tuesday at U.S. Cellular Field. He will be opposing the San Fransisco Giants' Jason Schmidt for the National League. Loaiza, 31, ranks in the top 10 in the AL in wins (11, 7th), ERA (2.21, 1st), strikeouts (106, 5th), winning percentage (.688, 8th), WHIP (1.06, 3rd), innings pitched (130.1, 7th) and batting average against (.223, 4th). This will be Loaiza's first all-star appearance. After years of mediocrity, inconsistency and injury, Loaiza has seen his career take a turn for the best in his first season with the Sox, giving up two runs or less in 14 of his 19 starts. Coming into the season, Loaiza had never won more than 11 games nor posted an ERA below 3.62. He is on pace to win 20-plus and throw over 200-plus innings, which will be another career first. Shortly before spring training, Loaiza signed a minor league contract with the Sox, one that consisted of him getting $500,000 if he made the team out of spring training and a $3.5 million team option for 2004.
  18. Well I'm very happy for Esteban. Its just with the team in the thick of things I'd rather have him starting for the Sox right after the break then pitching in the game. I do agree though the guy has earned it and I will be cheering for him the entire game. I just think its so stupid that this is thought of as more then an exhibition game. I wish they would do this and just let each pitcher go an inning or so and then have a few guys from the futures game rosters there in case they need anything else. And your right 3 innings isn't much. Also Mario, Halladay did something similar to Zito, well it wasn't Halladay himself but his manager.

Michelle is right. They don't owe anything. They are paid for what they do. Now the guys that go above and beyond are obviously more liked and are typically my favorites, but as long as they do the job in the regular season, play hard and help the team win (While staying out of legal trouble) then I'm happy. How many movie stars sign a bunch of autographs, etc? I really don't know so if someone tells me they sign a whole lot more then baseball players then my bad. Also from my experiences at spring training and such, I've noticed that more often then not the players are very friendly and always willing to sign. And for that I give MLB players a lot of credit.
  20. Well I must be the only person that wishes Loaiza wasn't the starter. I don't want him pitching 3 innings. Heck, I could care less if he pitches. I want the guy pitching for the Sox when it counts as many times as possible. Of course there is a plus in getting a guy to pitch in the all star game cause it gets his name out from a marketing standpoint. Still, nothing is more important then the regular season and then of course post-season.
  21. Its always best to have your degree and then go in or at least thats what I've been told. It means you enter as an officer or I think thats how it works.
  22. Why couldn't they of simply said. Since Zito pitched yesterday he will be unavailable for the All Star game. Of course first the A's should of told Barry. Then MLB replaces him with Clemens on the roster, but Zito still goes to the game and dresses, he just doesn't pitch. Thats how I'd handle it.
  23. Definately take the L. its like 5 bucks for a day pass and you can go anywhere you want and not have to worry about parking. From downtown you can make it to the Cell or Wrigley within 15 minutes. Via car it would typically take 30 to 45 minutes plus you'd have to pay for parking.
  24. I just don't like the idea of having a non football guy in the booth.
  25. I liked the Uni's a lot. I always love it when a team wears throwbacks. They should wear them more often.
