  1. s***, I get back from the airport and this is what I come home to I sure hope Cotts isn't a part of it. In the Alomar trade we gave them Ring for Robbie and they pay everything. Sounds like a good deal to me. Now this Everett deal is interesting, if Jimenez is the only good guy in the deal, then I'm happy, but if its Cotts and him I'm worried. Either way, this team is making a HUGE push.
  2. You should actually read what was posted.... Before giving up the home run to Jones on Wednesday on a belt-high fastball, Koch had posted a 1.89 ERA over his previous 20 appearances. So it's not like he has been woefully ineffective. Thats why I haven't been near as down on Koch. I am disturbed by his drop in velocity though.
  3. Sweet, Vince, you'll be back in the Windy City, I'll be in Iowa picking some corn At least Saturdays game is on WGN. Oh ya, SWEEP!!!!!!!!!
  4. How the heck did this guy get a job. Last I checked the all star game is for players that are doing great this year. Hell, why don't we put Ozzie Guillen and Harold Baines in it because they had great careers, or better yet put Jose Canseco out there. Gimme a break, this isn't an all decade team.

    To all

Hey, you can't let boards get to you. We all have opinions and not everyone is going to agree with eveyrone all the time. The key is to argue your points without bashing the other person and it looks like your learning that. Just relax a bit and realize were all Sox fans here. While some of us may get pissed and really go nuts, we all share one common belief and thats that we want the Sox to win the series BADLY. Here's to hoping the Sox not only kick the Cubs butts, but continue to roll and continue to improve their fundementals and get into the playoffs.
  6. Pretty good?? You can say that again. LOL I am glad we agree for once. Hell Brando, even I'm with you. Reed is what this team needs. I read a great article on Reed today in Baseball Prospectus. It was a free premium article preview. Here
  7. Whooo, 4 Points. Thanks sideshow, somehow you won the tiebreaker for the loser of the contest

Not by me. You have a facility for subtlety and nuance that few possess. Even if I disagree with you on a particular point I feel that I have to bring what passes for my A game to the forum to debate you. I agree with that statement. Brando isn't afraid to rip someones post to shreds. I like that, cause it keeps you on your feet. Too bad he'll never see the light on Jose

Lol Brandon, you've thrown compliments my way so I wouldn't be too worried about gettin banned any time soon After all, Jose is about the only person that we disagree on. And I WILL ADMIT he's defense is improving BIG TIME this year. To bad his pitch selection is awful. I have no problem having Jose as a guy off the bench.
  10. Still the Sox aren't doing the little things and that is continuing to keep them out of first place and is keeping them from going on a serious run. Until they start doing those things, I will have quite a few doubts. I love the pitching though Now lets beat the Cubs.
  11. Crede has been hitting a lot bettet lately. I bet he's close to .280 the past two weeks. He had two hits yesterday.
  12. I'd probably tell him thats a night. I think he could go more though. If they don't go with Buehrle, then I have no problem with Koch coming in.
  13. I like Hawk and DJ a lot.
  14. He isn't really young, I see him as a Carlos Lee type and a good pick-up but nothing breath taking. For Colon he would be the guy to throw in over Rivera from the Yanks to make the deal. The difference is he's an above average fielder and a good baserunner. I'd rather have Jacque Jones, but Nixon is a guy I like.
  15. The thing I want to know is when do players get taught that not running out is ok. Whenever I played if you didn't run out a ball you were benched. I don't know anything but playing at full speed because it makes things happen. In college I never see players, at least not on Fullerton, not run out every play and I'm assuming if they don't they get benched (Unless they are injured or something) yet in the majors it happens. I'd stick to that same philosphy. If your in shape, your not going to injure yourself running hard down the line. Its just something called hustle.

This year he's hitting .300 with a .387 OBP with 9 HR and 42 RBI. He also has 33 walks and 48 strikeouts. He has 3 stolen bases (not been caught yet). 12 Doubles and 4 triples. His ops is .900 with a .514 slugging percentage.
  17. I think the Sox may have to bite the bullet and eat some salary unless Paul really turns it around soon. It's about the only way those guys move anywhere around the league. Frank to 5 hole, Maggs to 3, and then must find a 4 hole hitter...Crede eventually in a few years? Borchard? Well I'm fairly confident the Sox will do the BoSox deal and I can only hope they are smart enough to get Nixon, who I'd be tempted to put in the 3 hole with Maggs in the 4. But having Nixon in the 2 hole and picking up a cleanup guy would be nice too. Heck, if Sox were serious, they'd make some trades this year, and make a run at Tejada. There are other ways to accomplish these things though. All I know is the Sox can't continue to go with a one dimensional team. Lee, and Konerko or one of them and Thomas has to be gone. Thomas is the best of the bunch, so he should stay. Of course I have no problem with Lee on first and somewhere in the back of the lineup. As long as two of them are gone for something, I'm happy. Carlos also probably has the best trade value, although Franks may not be too bad now that he's heated up.
  18. Oh ya, I also drew a ton of walks. I didn't have the talent, but was well educated in all the areas that could make up for it.
  19. We will just call you IFP (Infield Power) from now on.
  20. I seem to be similar to the player you are/were I miss playing baseball so much now. I'd do anything to be 12 again and be able to play some little league and high school ball again. I'm with ya on that. I so want to create a team with my buddies and join a league.
