  1. I drank 2 . i wasnt throwing up. But SOMEBODY WAS. Geeze I wonder who that was
  2. Believe it or not, he IS a nice guy. He's been to my house. I've never had an issue with anyone over there. Daver has even helped me out on some non baseball related things. I think it might be the age gap that caused a rift in this case.. but what the hell do I know Oh, but i think he sucks as a mod. That's just because i dont like anyone telling me to be have. So true so true, RPS. We've known that all along. I can just imagine what would happen if Uncle Jerry would tell you guys how to run SnR. If we have to go out, we're going out in a blaze of glory. we said that from day 1. I wonder if that blaze of glory will look a lot like your signature
  3. Its alright Alex, I'll let you become a Hawkeye Fan

  5. They won't. JR would spend the money if the team was making money, but he isn't one to lose money on his team. Like it or not he's always said if the fans came he'd spend more money, but they have never tried him on that, so we don't know for sure. He is rather easy to read though, and you know the payroll isn't getting expanded or at least it would shock me if it was.
  6. Well my proposal that I'll be writing goes along with that.
  7. Just hit new poll it is next to new topic on the off topic board. I'm assuming it works.
  8. Let me look into it. I'm assuming there is one. If not I"ll fix it when my finals are over.

  10. Only reason I questioned you is I thought you mean she didn't take any of them. I'm with you that someone can get into a school without taking the SAT if they take the ACT. Of course some schools don't accept the ACT's, but for that you just have to check the requirements I guess.
  11. No your right, the ACT is an alternative version instead of taking the SAT. I think more and more schools are going towards it. Your also right in regards to college not being for everyone. How recent is this..? 5 years? Definitely not 10 years. Back then the ACT wasn't even a required test. ACT was just starting up when I was taking my tests. I think it had been around, but was gaining steam. I never took the test but I had some friends that did. It was supposed to be either, but it is accepted at most colleges now without taking the SAT's; as long as you do good enough. I just took the SAT's because they were the preferred method and you could use them at all schools. I remember right after I took the test that things were changing. I also had to take SATII"s for one or two schools that I applied and got into. I think University of Washington was one of them. It ended up being a waste of time though because I never went to those schools, decided to save the money and instead transfer after I get my undergrad. How it is now, I couldn't exactly say, but I'm guessing its similar. I'll have to ask my sis, she's a junior in highschool so I'd guess she'd know more. Either way, its the GPA that is more important at getting in, and I still and always will find it stupid that someone could get good grades and think one test would ruin them. It would probably end their hopes of an ivy league, but there are plenty of good schools out there.

  13. LOL.. Try explaining accruals to someone who knows nothing about accounting and the looks on their faces is priceless. "Why not just put everything in the right month the first time". Oh if business ran that smoothly, life would be a lot easier. I also love it trying to explain EBITDA. Or depreciation and amortization. Or why (and how) you calculate the tax provisions. Oye.. my head is spinning.. ahh yes, Depreciation Expense and Ammortization on loans and such. Yep that stuff royally sucks. Does your company use Accrural Accounting? If so I'm assuming its cause its publicly traded? Also, to go into any college (4 year) you have to take SAT's unless you transfer from a 2 year (Junior College) or at least I'm pretty sure its everyone. There could be some exceptions. Some schools also require you to take SATII's although I think not as many of them are doing that. I know when I took them all 2/3 years ago, things were really changing and some people though there would be a new standardized test or that the ACT would get bigger. I never took the ACT but I heard it was an easier test. All I know is the SAT sucked cause I had to get up at like 6 am to take the damn test and I was up till midnight the night before having fun. I wasn't about to ruin my freaking weekend. The other reason they sucked was because so many people cheated the test by taking all those damn classes where they give you the answers. Screw that, just take the test and see how you do, thats my theory, lol. I've learned they weren't all that important. The grades you get once in college appear to be more important, but I could change that opinion once I'm out and into the real world, but I doubt it. Hell, highschool was for slacking off.
  14. I heard he threw in the mid 90's? What is his velocity. I remember Bullard mentioning that he had an explosive fastball that was in the mid 90's, don't remember the exact velocity. Then again maybe I remember it wrong, lol. I wouldn't say Asians have rock solid mechanics. Nomo is far from rock solid as is Ishii. They do tend to have rubber arms, but thats just based on a small sample so I can't really say that for sure. From what I noticed, they all seem to have rather funky deliveries, just none like Nomo's. Also, if you watch Chan Ho Park pitch you'll see he has terrible mechanics too.
  15. Nice work, thats right around what I got.
  16. Anyone have the top 100 list. Do they update that all the time?

Wow it was only like 2 weeks ago we had the 400th. Damn, once again special thanks to all the posters and readers that make this place special.
  18. The sad thing is, a few years back before the Cubs had resigned Sosa, when they were talking about trading him the Yankees made the Cubs a 4 player offer that included Soriano and Ramiro Mendoza among the players. And I was about the only person saying they should of made that trade. They were offerings Soriano, Rivera, Mendoza and one guy who turned out to be a bust, forget who it was. Jackson Melian, thats it.
  19. Sanchez really impressed me with the Brewers at the top of the order. Right now I'm going back to my appraoch of looking at the future of this team and watching their development. I think I'll be doing that a whole lot more as the team starts to trade away a lot of its players.
  20. Well I have a new approach I'm taking to this whole matter. Going to do quite a bit of research and write up an article on my way of rebuilding this team. Some will like it, plenty won't cause I end up giving up on the season. Giles would be the only one I'd want cause he's signed. I am a big JD Drew fan, but I don't do Garland for him simply because Sox can't take on money without giving it up and it will mean Colon is gone.
  21. I'm just saying if Texas wants to dump his contract. Cubs are one team that could probably pay that kind of money. All I know is I'd find a way to move Sosa. Heck, move Sammy to the Yankees for Alfonso Soriano (No way will it happen, but worth a shot). I bet they coudl do it for Jeter.
  22. Brian Daubach. I got a good feeling. Now hopefully he starts.
  23. Oh yes....being one of his only fans I have to pick him every once in a while.
  24. Chisoxfn replied to Jim Fainter's topic in Pale Hose Talk
You don't know how much I would love to move Thomas and Konerko with Lee moving to first. It would open a couple holes for much stronger fundemental players, the key is for the Sox to find those guys in a trade for Konerko and Thomas which would be extremely difficult.
  25. If those are what he really said then that freaking sickens me. He should say that I was so proud to see those guy produce like that. I'm working hard to get back and help make this team even better so we can finally play some winning baseball in October. The team did a heck of a job now I'll help do my part. If I'm Hendry, I'd trade Sosa to the Rangers for Arod.
