2000 draft review
Never new the Sox drafted Kyle Boller (3rd base). He plays for my school. He wasn't starting at the beginning of the season, but it could of been for an injury.

Milton Bradley benched
Jason, I wanted to jump on that statemet and say not true and thgen I looked at the actually numbers: pathetic numbers Since I have acoc***ed for 21 tickets already this season, where is everyone else? To be honest, if people really wonder why the Sox don't have a higher payroll, look right at this and thats why. I know we all would like JR to lose a whole lot of money in order to win the series, but the fact is there is no guarantee it would do so, therefor its not worth it to him, because he's not a mega billionaire that can afford to lose 10 to 15 mill a year on a baseball team. Detroit, Florida, Montreal and Tampa are all worse. They got no payrolls, Sox have a pretty high one considering. You want some proof of what will fix this club (Winning the Series) then look at whose #1 and #2 right now (Giants and Anaheim). I could expect the Giants there, but Anaheim hasn't drawn every since I've been going there. I was there with crowds of 12,000 back in the day and a good crowd was 17 or so, now they are at 37 - ALL FROM ONE SEASON.

True or False?
It was the end of the season and they were making up a game that was supposed to be played at the other parks home, but it was too tough to schedule it in.

Pacheco
He does throw in the high 90's. According to Bullard he's got great stuff.

What happened to the rumor that KW was resigning
My guess would be that it is not happening. This is all me speculating, but I'm assuming he is no longer meddling with Jerry Manuel in terms of who to manage and is the GM not only for this season, but the future. Right now I think if Williams is gone it will be because of family issues. I wouldn't be sad to see him go necessarily, but right now I think he's a good gm and I think he could be a great one. But I'm the minority, lol.

True or False?
It shouldn't be too bad a of a drive witesoxfan. I made the drive up from my grandparents who live half an hour outside of Sioux Falls South Dakota in Iowa. I don't know if its farther or shorter for you, but it shouldn't be horrible. The Twinkie dome is pretty bad though. Luckily when I went there a doubleheader was being played which was cool. Its the only doubleheader I've ever seen.

Milton Bradley benched
The sad thing is, they still draw more then the Sox. Still, their are a lot of Sox fans. The keys to drawing a good crowd are getting the casual fans in, not the diehards.

Rod Beck
That such a freaking cool article. What a cool guy Rod Beck is.

Umm....Moderators?
Not sure what happened, let me look at the settings. Everything should work, but i could of made a mistake. Trying loggin out and then log back in. I looked and the settings appeared to be all right. I don't have a clue why it wouldn't let you make a post, thats really funny. Also just to make sure, you know to first make a post and then at the bottom of the post you hit the pin button correct?

what other ballparks have you been to
Edison is nice, but I love the Q. I'm gonna be there around June 1st. Not sure who they are playing, I just know my friends getting me a free ticket and when its free it don't matter when they are playing.

Pacheco
Pacheco is a stud. He's shooting up the list on our prospect charts.

Colon is awesome
You want to know why I love THIS COLON, because he only made 88 pitches up to that point. That shows me how much of a stud our pitching coach is, and also how willing Bartolo is to improve himself on what has already been a great career for him. Bartolo is learning how to pitch and this is what is going to make him a 1A type pitcher instead of the 1B type pitcher. I will be so pissed if we don't resign Bartolo. This kid is going to be the top of the charts after Pedro blows his arm. Well him Zito, etc in the AL and then Prior and some others in the NL.

The Hairston plunking
Its the pitchers call 100%.

If Sox sweep
Right now, its my personel opinion that Williams isn't going anywhere. He is going to be here for a while and I'm not upset against that.

No world wide draft
They got a whole lot of negotiating to do. If they cut the draft down to 20 rounds, then I would think those teams that pay their scouts the most would really dominate the free agent market. I mean whose to say who gets signed. One team could basically sign all the best late round picks and everyone else gets hosed if its fewer rounds. I'm a fan of the nice long drafts in baseball because of all the positions needed to be filled, etc.

Colon ejected, benches clear
I don't think it was intentional. I think the reason the Sox went back was because of the sheer number of times Maggs was hit in the series as well as PK. Usually you aren't aiming at a guy with a 95 mph fastball, but I could be wrong.

Series Preview: Minnesota Twins
Series Preview: Minnesota Twins By Alex Ernst May 16, 2003 SoxNet.net The Minnesota Twins have been on one heck of a roll. They have won 12 of their last 15 games and have put themselves back into the race for the AL Central. Opponent: Minnesota Twins Record: 22-18, .550, 2.5 GB (AL Central) Place: Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome Time & TV: Game 1: 7:05 pm (FSN); Game 2: 6:05 pm (WGN); Game 3: 1:05 pm (FSN) 2002 Record vs Sox: 11-8 2003 Record vs Sox: 1-2 THE LATEST The Twins have been unstoppable at the plate, bringing to this series a team batting average of .272, while the pitching staff holds the opposition to a .241 average. They are led by Jacque Jones and his .338 batting average, but he is nursing a quadricep injury, leaving him questionable. The bats have also been red-hot this last week with an average over .300, while the staff has a combined ERA of 4.03. Twins pitcher Kyle Lohse is the only starter with an ERA under 4.50. The bullpen has been near the top of the American League and the Majors with an ERA of 2.65. WHO'S HOT (Last 7 days) Todd Sears, 1B: .333, 2 HR, 6 RBI, .833 SLG --A left-handed rookie with fewer than 20 games under his belt has exploded with a dynamite week, hitting two homers, including a walk-off homer against the AL Central leading Kansas City Royals. WHO'S NOT (Last 7 days) Torii Hunter, CF: .160, 4 hits in 25 at-bats, 2 CS, 2 GIDP --Hunter has been underachieving this year, with an average struggling to stay over .200. This trend has continued as Hunter has been disappearing at the plate, and when he gets on base. However, he has managed to score three of the seven times he’s been on base in the last seven days. PITCHING PROBABLES Game #1: Mark Buehrle (2-6, 3.86, 25 K) vs. Brad Radke (4-3, 5.85, 27 K) --Brad Radke has been up and down so far this year. While usually one of Minnesota’s more dependable starters, he has given up 11 homers so far, with an equal number of walks. However, Radke has settled down as of late, winning his last three starts. Game #2: Jon Garland (2-3, 6.88, 18 K) vs. Joe Mays (3-3, 5.83, 23 K) --Joe Mays has also had an up-and-down year, but was lights out against the Sox in his only start against them this year. He pitched seven strong innings, only giving up four hits, of which one was a homer. Game #3: Esteban Loaiza (7-1, 2.05, 45 K) vs. Kyle Lohse (3-3, 3.27, 40 K) --Kyle Lohse has been the Twins ace so far this year. In his eight starts, he’s held opponents to two or fewer earned runs six times. He also has the highest strikeout numbers of the Minnesota starters in this series. Opponents are only batting .219 off of Lohse. KEYS TO THE SERIES #1 - Get an early lead. For the most part this year, when the Twins starters have been scored on early in the game, it leads to more runs the rest of the way. Plus, the Twins bullpen has been masterful so far this year. #2 - Quiet the Twins' bats. If starter Mark Buehrle can get out of the first three innings of his start without any damage, the Sox should be in a good position to win. With Jacque Jones possibly out with an injury, it hinders Minnesota somewhat at the plate, so the Sox starters need to take advantage of this. #3 - A steady bullpen. The Sox need to get quality work out of the bullpen like they did in the Baltimore series. Minnesota is hitting at a .328 clip in close and late situations, so scoreless relief from Gordon, Koch, White and company is important to keep the Twins from coming back when the game is on the line.

Sox Vs. Orioles Game Thread 5/15
SOX WIN 8-2 and we get the SWEEP. Now head to the Twinkie dome, looking to keep up the hot streak with Buehlre going up against Radke tomorrow. Hell of a game Sox. Colon looked great, offense is looking better and better and pitching was good.
