I'm assuming this is a move that will take time if it happens. I'd guess their are quite a few lose ends to tie up. Anyword on whether they are considering completely cleaning house (Williams, Manuel and Ward gone)? or do they just want to take it one step at a time?
  2. Welcome aboard. Always great to have another Sox fan aboard
  3. Well if in fact that is Ward's philosphy then I'd fire him immediately and put a major blame on him. This team needs to use small ball. Ya they can hit a ton of homers, but why not also utilize small ball so you can win two different ways (With the homer barrages that ocassionally happen, but also by getting lots of base hits, moving guys over, and taking advtange of every scoring opportunity).
  4. Joe's numbers have slid a bit lately, but hopefully he can get things going. I still think he's a few more months away, probably here near July.
  5. That was great.
  6. I'll take all the wins I can get. If in fact KW was the cause of so many problems and I can buy into it if he really was holding the reigns. Of course I will call JM very gutless for not standing up and making his own calls if that was the case, but if KW is ousted and the Sox do start winning with JM at the helm then I have no problem keeping him. In 2000 I'd have to look back, but I wasn't ever too upset with him, of course its hard to be upset when a team was clicking like it was. Plus, I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I've been wondering if a team has ever went to the playoffs the same year they fired their manager (In Season of course)

We still have Fontaine in our organization right? Supposedly he's supposed to be an awesome mind. I want KW sticking around the organization though, back to his minor league duties. The guy is sharp, I know that much.

Just more of a gut feeling. I'm not all impressed with Oaklands lineup and I think we can beat them. Its Seattle that I feel is the best in that division. In my opinion we should of beat up Oakland when they were in town and I think the Sox will make up for that and finally win in their house.

We take 2 out of 3 in Oakland, mark it down. Not sure yet about Seattle, but I think we could take 2 out of 3, but most of me says 1 out of 3.
  11. New reports out of Bama say that Price was buying his player beer.
  12. What do you all think of Price getting fired?
  13. Both were very good movies in my opinion. Robin Williams does a great job in both.
  14. I said I wanted Jose Cruz in December and January...when he was still a FA. Hindsight is 20-20....but IMO, it was a win-win situation. Witesoxfan and I were the big Jose Cruz backers when he was still out there.
  15. But wouldn't it of been better spending that money on more pitching or Jose Cruz Jr?

I really think this guy could be up really quick. I think if he pitches good in AAA, they'll move up him before someone like Almonte. Also Cerb, I paid close attention to the 7 pitch part.
  17. Do you guys honestly believe it would of been in the best interest to give Ray a 7 mill a year type contract, long term (For 3 yrs or so)?
  18. The problem with frank is with his agression. He's not an agressive hitter and he gets stuck thinking too much about his swing, which slows his bat down just a bit, and that keeps him from being more explosive.
  19. I'm with ya wsf
  20. Brando is right in pretty much all aspects in regards to this season. I wouldn't blame JM that much for it, but I think he will be the scapegoat and I think this team needs a manager with some more fire in his veins. Backman or Valentine imo. The only thing I think JM could really of done different is been more agressive on the paths, but otherwise he's been solid with the pen etc, even though most would disagree with me on that. If you want to blame someone blame our offense and Koch.
  21. Didn't see any of the games against Seattle, other then the first two innings of Saturday's game, but prior to that Konerko was looking a whole lot better and hopefully he can keep building on that.
  22. Munoz has had a few straight good outings.
  23. Yep, they answered your question very quickly, lol.
  24. Frank should be hitting in the 5 hole with Carlos in the 3 hole. I'd actually rather have Thomas in the 6 hole, but I'll let Konerko be there. I really want to see Harris stick and then we can move Jose back in the 6 hole and Konerko in the 7 or Thomas in the 7 and then Crede and Olivo/Alomar.
  25. Well a loss and I really do think he will be canned.
