    10 days!

Well I'm going to move this to off-topic. After all I think the first post was about the only one in regards to baseball. Me, I wouldn't go out with a girl that smokes for the simple reason that I can't stand the smell of smoke nor do I smoke. I have nothing wrong with them and I can be friends with anyone that smokes, but nothing more, unless I can convince them to quit, lol. I also got no problem with Tatoos other then the fact that I don't and won't get one. 1. They are too permanent for me 2. I'm a sissy and am afraid of needles; Also why I'd never shoot up any drugs Now if you got them all over your body then it probably means something, I'm talking those people with like body tats or whatever they call them.

I cant believe that I'm actually defending Sosa on this, but there have been many players that never led their team to consistent winning teams. Take a guy like ARod for example, we all know his numbers, yet the Rangers weren't even a .500 ballclub last season. It doesn't take one great hitter to get to the playoffs, it takes a whole team, which is what the Cubs don't have. Do the Angels have just one big impact player? No, they have a whole team of impact players that led them to the World Series Championship. The only reason that I am willing to take Sosa on my team is that he's a great hitter. He may very well be on steroids, and I know hes the biggest b**** theres is, but I will take him for the offense that he can provide us with. So what about the DBacks in 2001? They didn't have 1 impact player...they had 2.....but that's essentially what won them the World Series. Regarding ARod....not only is he in the toughest division in the majors....but he had nothing for pitching around him. If Park can pitch decently this year....the Rangers could be an 85 win team. They have a stronger pen....and have a formidable 1-2-3 punch with Park, Valdes, and Thomson. Sosa's actually had some pitching around him at times....and he does this year. He should also have a decent offense around him as well....let's see how he does this year. Offensive players and pitchers are two different areas. It doesn't matter how good an offensive player is if they got crap pitching. Having two aces can do so much cause its almost a guaranteed win two out of five and they hope they play semi .500 with the other three. Remember, Gonzo had a monster year, Finley was good, so it still wasn't just a two man show. Plus in the playoffs, two starters can take you a very very long way.

That was a different Sammy Sosa and there is a difference then Sammy Sosa at that time by himself then Frank Thomas and Albert Belle still in pretty much their prime. Frank Castillo isn't a pitcher. We had Darwin who was solid and a lot of injuries, but wasn't that one of the years the cubs had no closer or anything?

That is a completely absurd statement. We had one of the best pitching staffs some of the years the Sox dominated, with the cy young award winner, etc. We also had Ventura and some other sluggers and quality guys like Raines, one Dog, Harold Baines, etc.

I dunno. Baseball isn't like so many sports in the sense that one player can carry a team. It is a team sport. Basketball you can kind of have that happen because there are only 5 players, but in baseball there are 9 starters plus a bullpen and bench and they all have integral parts of the team. I can't believe that people really think that Sosa doesn't help the Cubs and that he wouldn't help the Sox. I know people can complain about his attitude, but he doesn't really have much of one. I think he is a bit me oriented, but he does want to win and he works hard and plays his butt off.
  6. But I don't have any of that stuff and can still listen. You guys should try opening the real player beforehand and then clicking on the listen button on mlb and see if that helps.

    Oscars

What utter crap that came out of his mouth.

    Oscars

I'm not watching the OSCARS. I won't stand for the comments either way. Those comments are going to get a lot of press and they don't deserve it. Its not like their background is on this subject and a lot of them aren't educated in this whole issue whether for or against it. I know most of the pro war people keep their mouths shut, but either way I don't liek that an actor that may no nothing about the subject could effect so many people by making on comment. It would be like trusting an "avg joe" to be a Chemical Expert (not saying it isn't possible or anything as plenty of them are very smart, but just in general not many people fit this bill so what would their opinion really matter if thats not their area of expertise. I'm watching Jurassic Park 3 or whatevers on Fox.

    Hey BMR

Just want to quickly welcome you aboard
  10. It's Faux News, excuse me Fox News reporting it too. I'm VERY hesitant to believe what the U.S. corporate media says now, especially Fox. BBC is reporting to apu... jas....you dont have BBCamerica on basic cable out there???...its on comcast basic cwsox...every station is reporting it so it is news...i think the fact that it was gaurded by an electrical fence with military troops including a general at least would lead one to think its a little more than a viagra plant...but with saddam you never know..it might be his personal hair dye plant I see the station (Also found out I have Fox Sports Cntrl and a White Sox piece was on but I couldn't see that either), and it is in the color that says I Get the channel so I'm gonna call them up when I get time. I usually bs everytime I call the company.
  11. Last years incidents have little if no effect on what happened in canada and ofcourse your gonna go against me in this being that your canadian. And yes i realize there are two types of candadians since i did say "2 languages" but they are all canadians more than anything else. Plus in reaction to another comment i doubt the "loud minority" of the crowd was overshadowing the majority, actually if you saw it there was a majority booing. Gary to be honest people in Quebec have and always will want to suceed and become an independent state. They are french and they hold that deeply.
  12. I really think if Wright does in fact need surgery, we may just see him go in and get it in the next two weeks. Also, look for Ginter to move to the rotation once he goes back to AAA. I don't think it was the one bad start that kept him out, it was more of the fact that he didn't really have much of a shot as the pen was pretty much decided beforehand. Now if one of the righties goes down it will be between him and Almonte.

    Simas

Simas is one of their first inline if there are any injuries. I don't know where he stands though. I don't think he's healthy. I saw him pitch a scoreless inning and he looked alright though. I wish him the best.

    Juden

I remember he bounced to the Angels. I thought Juden spent most of his career with the Brewers and then we picked him up after the Angels had them or something like that. I think we were one of his last teams.
  15. Ya. RPS has been Mike South, and Crede fan and I think some other name as well like Southsider or something along those lines, I don't remember.
  16. I hate all these accidents. These are things that the military will have to work on after the war and during it as well. You can't do much about the helicopters as they are pretty dangerous as is, but they can do something about working on less friendly fire and I believe that they will be doing exactly that.
  17. Oh ya, Analysis is necessary. I still don't see it as a PR nightmare because they are only calling it what it is, a Chemical Plant, they don't know whats there yet. I mean we know he had chemical weapons so he's had plants, maybe he hadn't used it in a long time, who knows.
  18. Was Blix given enough time to find weapons all over the nation of Iraq, destroy the ones he found (these are f***ing lethal weapons, that takes time) Being hurried throughout Iraq and not given much time by the United States, I am gonna say that Blix would have found them...if given the adequate time they needed to find everything. Also, they don't know what chemicals and stuff it is yet. So, let's wait for the analysis. i agree 100% with your last statement...if we handle this wrong and it turns out to be vats of rubbing alcohol or something it would be a huge PR nightmare.. for blix..hasnt he been there , or atleast the team he now heads been there since '97???...thats a lot of time Well, could it be that Blix wasn't allowed into this area. I'm just throwing out an idea as I don't know what was going on. But Blix was there for quite a long time or at least UN inspectors were. Whether you talk about this current time period or previous time periods, so overall man hours spent were plenty to find things like this. I know you once said he had 95% cooperation, well you don't know what is with the other 5% and this may be just a small portion of the other 5%.
  19. I don't think its that, but if the people of Iraq rejoice around this and it somehow sways the middle east opinion of the US, then that would be huge. I couldn't imagine being alive or at least while I'm this young and seeing a middle east that is more peacefull, etc. I do think everything there gets blown out of proportion by the minority radicals, but I've never been there so I don't know.
  20. Thank God France is committing 30-40 troops who specialize in chemical and biological weapon identification, handling, and disposal I'd trust them over some average Joe who has no idea what the f*** he is doing. im sure our soldiers know to touch nothing....this could turn out to be nothing too...but msnbc is now reporting that there are "vats of chemicals" in the compound...we have to move careful on this because this could be the proof we need to turn world opinion on this war.. if this does turn out to be a chemical plants...100 square yard chemical plant...the question must be put to hans blix..why wasnt this found in your inspections??? this is the lead story on BBC america too Dang it, I need to call my cable company, I don't get BBC America. Its there, but it says I don't have the plan or something. I just assumed digital cable came with those type of channels. I just found a whole lot of channels I never knew I had with digital cable, of course we got the basic plan for digital cable.
  21. Ya, I heard there were boobie traps and such there. I'm glad we found it instead of had them use the stuff there on us (If there are weapons there and I'm assuming there are). I sure hope we can find all of them before the Iraqi's use them.
  22. Ya, Mike South was RPS new screen name that he was going to use for the radio show, but then decided not too.
  23. Every war we learn more and more about these types of things and find new ways to prevent it. Its horrible to see any friendly fire, but I hope this time those numbers decrease. Lets hope this is the end of the friendly fire.
  24. Is that really true or are you toking tonight? Never thought I'd read that sentance in my life. Well its what the announcers said. 4.72 or 4.76 and that was entering the game. This team could definately put up one of the lower eras in the majors when the season starts. I love our staff, especially if Wright is healthy and its no secret I like our bullpen.
  25. I wonder what they will find in it. Baggs, have they said they have found chemical weapons yet?
