  1. Well of course Go Iowa, but they are rebuilding this year, at least in Basketball. GO HAWKEYES, BEAT THOSE TROJANS!!!!!
  2. Sandy is a good pickup cause it means Paul moves to the 3rd catcher slot and should stay in AAA, of course he is out of options. Still, I liked the Koch deal, and I like the Alomar signing, although I wanted Kreuter, I do like Alomar quite a bit.
  3. A new year is coming upon us and Soxtalk and Soxnet will be undergoing some changes for the better. As far as Soxtalk's concerned, we want to hear what you think of our change. The current boards we have are nice, but plain, and have faulty coding, which leaves them full of bugs that effect many users. Some users have trouble logging in, while others can't even see the board. These problems have just started and we want to do our best to make things better for everyone. Soxtalk opened in August, using this new software, and the board has grown a ton since. Tons of new posters, and plenty of great Soxtalk. We'd like to make the boards even better so more people can interactive with them. I've built two test boards of two different formats to show you an example. The boards are generic right now, but if you decide to be in favor of the boards, I'll get straight to work on customizing them and getting them ready to come out immediately. Each of these boards seem very easy to use, and have very complete coding. The one problem is that we won't be able to transfer the posts (At least not immediately, although it may be possible to do so in the future, so I would backup everything over the past couple of months) The address wouldn't be changing, as everything would be pointed to www.soxtalk.com The addresses of the two boards that are set up are http://www.soxtalk.com/invbb http://www.soxtalk.com/phpbb So far I've talked to a couple of regular posters and they really liked the invbb ones and so did I. Anyway, tell us what you think and as always if you have any suggestions on what we could do to make Soxtalk and Soxnet better, email us at contactsn@soxnet.net Thanks Everyone for your loyal Support From Everyone at Soxnet and Soxtalk
  4. Not sure...is he in the Cards organization, if so thats probably the one I'm talking about.
  5. Wheres the love for Notre Dame?

Nope, but I'm thinking of getting the internet version for PS2, that way I can whoop people up on Madden all over the place.
  7. The Molina's are pretty well liked by most. I don't like them because I think that they still have a good amount to learn. Still, Bengie is pretty well liked, and no one really knows much about Jose(I think he's better) Their other brother is a pretty highly thought of catching prospect in the Cards organization.

Owens is quality. When was the last time Martinez pitched in the majors? We would of been better off picking up Jaret Wright. Martinez was very good in his prime, but he's probably 38 and has no arm anymore. Considering how cheap the Sox are, they need to spend every penny on one solid pitcher that will help them.
  9. They love this guy. I am an Angel fan. I go to about 20 angel games a year and this guy flat out hustles. He hit .300 last year and his career avg. hovers right around their. My buddies that are big angel fans also love this guy. We are all sitting here wondering why the Angels are letting him go.
  10. We aren't excactly in a great division. It isn't tough to win our division, simply beat up on the bad teams and you should be in. Thats not saying they win the world series, but the Sox should compete with the Twins, even if they go with a rotation that has Ritchie and Rauch in it. That rotation also has the potential to be pretty good, of course it could also be pretty bad.
  11. One other thing, Palmerio would be an awesome pickup. This guy is the perfect #2 hitter if Rowand flops and he's an awesome 4th outfielder.
  12. No platoon, Jimenez must play. He's our leadoff hitter.
  13. Well, I like Ritchie, especially if we bring him back for like 1.5 mill. Then give one other guy the same price and thats it. It sounds to me like a JR way of doing things.
  14. Well, after that I can't really think of any other defectors that got much money. Contreras is supposed to of been Cuba's best pitcher and it would definately be worth it, but the Sox aren't talking to him.
  15. I am not too big of a Rogers fan. I'd rather have someone like Daal. Rogers doesn't really have too good of stuff and a lot of the time it looks like he lucks through things. Still he would be better then nothing.
  16. It ain't like were going to be meeting up with the Cubs too often. If they went after Randa they'd be fools.
  17. I wouldn't pay Suppan 3 million bucks. I'd take him over JB though.
  18. JB is a great guy, but he's very inconsistent and has never proved a thing at the majors. This guy had one decent season, everything else has been pretty bad.
  19. That was an awesome quote though.
  20. All I know is I'd take the Tribune any day of the week over Jr.
  21. Well if Colon goes to the Marlins, look for the marlins to move him. That move just wouldn't make sense. It would be a real good move by the Expos. I think this is just the Expos trying to make it look like their is still a market. Maybe, just maybe, we can luck up and get one of those two at a good rate.
  22. Sammy Sosa is the 2nd best offensive player in the majors. Say what you want, but the Sox would be nuts if they didnt' want his production and moved him to left. Maggs is amazing too and Maggs is developing, its also hard to go against Sammy. I do think the Cubs would be best off by trading him if he will always continue to tell management what to do.
  23. He always produced well in Texas, I never knew why they didn't ever let him start for a full season, it ain't like they were going anywhere.
  24. St. Louis does a great job getting guys. Their are one of the rare teams that has soley found a way to build itself via trades and free agency, almost nothing from their own system. Of course, you can ocassionally get away with those things when you have a nice high payroll. If the Cards want Buerhle, then I'll ask for Matt Morris and call it a done deal
  25. I still like Ritchie, and I like Daal too. Especially at a one year deal. One year, we can't go wrong with Daal unless we pay him some ridiculous amount.
