  1. To me the BoSox would be making a foolish move, but I do think Hillebrand is way over-rated. They are just taking on some heavy salary in Tatis. Still, the move makes some sense, cause they can pick up someone like Alfonzo to play 3rd.
  2. Well, if he's 30 and hasn't proved anything I'll pass on him. I'd rather spend a minimum salary on someone like JB.
  3. Lee definately has a ton to learn. By the way Donkey, I like the avatar. In that picture it looks like Kenny is sad about something, maybe the fact that he hasn't been able to get Colon or Ortiz yet.
  4. I'm one of those people that doesn't worry too much what other teams are doing, unless its the Yanks or teams in our division. Cubs are making some interesting moves, this would be a stupid one if they give up Zambrono or Cruz.
  5. Interesting, supposedly they have acquired Vazquez for Hillebrand and Fossum. Seems like a lot to give up though. I Think they are getting Tatis too though.
  6. The A's are doing real good if they don't give up Griffin or Arnold cause those two are damn good prospects. This is a nice job by the Reds too, getting Felipe Lopez, although Elmer Dessens is a pretty good pitcher.
  7. Welcome aboard Hawk Dj. I'm with ya, I love talking Sox baseball.
  8. He's got a fair deal on the table, lets wait and see what happens. Its looking like Ortiz may be the backup plan, but I don't really know what the Giants would want that we have.
  9. Is this the knuckleballer thats supposed to have a good fastball as well? I don't know much about the guy, but as long as he's cheap, I say go for it. Its always good to have backup plans.
  10. 420, I'll go through and fix it for you. I'll host it through Soxtalk's site. I'll probably get to it tonight.
  11. Interesting....It doesn't seem like they are giving up that much for Javier Vazquez(The Marlins thats is), then again Penny is a pretty good prospect.
  12. No, he doesn't deserve the credit yet, not until some of this so called deals are done.
  13. My theory on a middle infielder is they need to be able to hit for avg, and just as importantly draw walks and not strike out too much. The key is having a guy with a great obp in the top of the order. You don't want your premier home-run hitter their or premier hitter(usually) because you want your rbi guys waiting to knock in your top of the order guys. They don't have to be great stealing threats, but it is nice, because then you can have a single, steal 2nd, and have a runner in scoring position for the middle of your lineup. To me Jimenez is just about the perfect leadoff hitter if he can continue to grow. Of course, I'd take Ichiro if we could get him.
  14. Ya, it was basically a discussion on who deserves to get in. Here's one for everyone. Out of all the players not in the hall, who do you think most deserve to be in their? I know SI, already mentioned his list of some players that don't deserve to be in the hall that are in the hall, but What are everyone elses lists?
  15. I don't think its very close to going down. Just my 2 cents. I think that offer may be on the table, but thats all it is. The Sox have probably had more discussions with the Giants for Russ Ortiz.
  16. I want to thank everyone that supports and visits this site. Without you guys this couldn't be possible. I'm still amazed at how things are developing as the site/board continue to grow.

  18. Well, I haven't read all of the threads, but I made a couple posts their defending it. I'll let them think of it what they think. I've heard many good things from the members here and thats all I need to know. I'm proud of what the site and boards have become and it couldn't of been done without our loyal posters, readers, etc. This is a great site, of course I'm not going to say a bad thing about the other site. What some of their posters say is up to them, I try not to get in wars over stuff like that. I just take it for what its worth. I'm also going to say, I tend to be on Jjav's court that this may not be even close to a deal. I suspect KW has made some type of offer, but how close they are, I don't know, and I think of most everything as a rumor, until its done. Their is no sure thing. Heck, even done deals break apart, aka the Erstad deal.
  19. My dad told me it was real good. I'll have to check it out on one of the many replays.
  20. Heck ya, I'd trade Maggs for either of those two.
  21. You know teams are talking about Colon. I know Vazquez is considered hot stuff, but Colon is the stud out their. I also think they'll be getting tons of calls on Vidro or they should cause that guys a stud too.
  22. Now, I won't call KW the greatest gm out their but I always see him doing what he can to make this team better. Most of his moves have made sense in the fact that he tries to get a need. Of course he's failed quite a bit, but I'm probably the biggest KW supporter out their, don't ask me why. If I knew we could get Kevin Towers, I'd fire KW in a heartbeat, well I'd demote him to the guy in charge of the minors. Still, KW seems to be learning. He doesn't want to deal his top prospects and seems to be playing his cards right. He still says he doesn't want to move Garland and is playing it right saying he's willing to go with Rauch as his #5 and forget adding a pitcher. This are good negotiating tactis, something I told KW to pick up on after he acquired Marte, who was due to go on waivers. Of course, a couple months back, I actually wrote an article supporting KW, to a point. I think he's putting this team in an amazing position to compete. He's screwed up some deals, but I still believe the only guy we'll miss is Kip Wells. Fogg is nothing special and well, Lowe was cut yet again. Ritchie obviously didn't live up to his hype, but Ritchie for Wells(He ain't going to win a Cy Young, he'll be a good pitcher on a bad team) is something I can live with. Every gm has his blunders and this one gets ripped pretty bad, but it could of been a heck of a lot worse.
  23. Speaking of 420, where is my optimistic buddy. I love his optimism. That can't be a real deal, thats ridiculous. Still, he must of researched something cause Diggins is a pretty good prospect. Ain't happening though and if it was, I'd really be laughing my ass off cause we aught to be dealing Josh Paul for Colon.
  24. Well, I have only one thought, Valentin for Tomko. The Pads need infield help(middle infield) and Manos would be a good vet to help Vazquez and others out. He's a temp solution, but just throwing it out their. Still, Manos should not leadoff or hit in the 2 hole.
  25. Malone is extremely young and since their aren't many hard throwing lefties out their. Corwin should bounce back this year. The guy has stud written all over him, but I'd probably do something like that if they were to take Wright, but I'm going to like it either way as long as Corwin or one of our top prospects isn't the other prospect. I don't mind giving up Paul what-soever Right now I see this as Lee and Garland for Colon. Then Harris for Vidro, and Paul for Barret and then an extra player(Hopefully just a crappy ptbnl or Ginter)
