QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 13, 2014 -> 01:12 PM) I'm just sort of expecting the Rose we saw this year, the guy who is no longer the most explosive guy on the court. Not sure where you saw that he wasn't explosive. The game he got hurt, he was extremely explosive and showed off his athleticism quite a bit during the season. I saw a guy that was very rusty more then anything else and didn't know how to play with his teammates and rotate without the ball, etc. A guy that had lost his touch.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 13, 2014 -> 07:18 AM) Derrick Rose, idiot who doesn't learn from anything... Chris De Luca @ChrisDeLuca 1h Derrick Rose not closing door on return to #Bulls this season http://bit.ly/LVVUWi I read his quotes. He kept saying, I'm not talking comeback just saying i'm not thinking about. Nowhere during his quotes did I get the feeling he really was hinting at coming back. He seems far more focused on getting back in time to play for the US team.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 8, 2014 -> 11:41 AM) So it WAS a little early to call them national title caliber? They could beat anyone but they can't put it all together at times. And just cause I said they could bear anyone doesn't mean I'm saying they are the best. They aren't the best in the big ten. I was surprised when some analysts had them as national title contenders but hey 8 hope somehow they were right. -

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Feb 7, 2014 -> 06:20 PM) I don't get why they would want to do it. What benefit does the league get from pushing it to 2 years in college? So now you're giving the NCAA two years of superstar players when teams would draft the guy out of high school if they could? I get not wanting to scout high school players, but I just don't see the point in forcing dominant freshmen to stay another year. The only argument I could see is more development, but 99% of guys aren't "ready" for the NBA when they come out regardless of when they come out and guys that stay an extra year frequently see their stock drop. I could also see that creating a ton of eligibility issues for guys that barely get in as it is. It will also cause guys to look at the D-League and Europe as alternatives. Oh, and to answer your question, I would guess it comes up the next time they have to negotiate a CBA with the players. You might get more development and a better quality of NBA. The actual skill level in the NBA has decreased significantly. Athletically, its another story. I've always argued the MLB approach, you allow them to go pro out of high school or they stay 2-3 years in college and continue to develop their game and then re-enter the draft. -
It was pulled because the article had the facts wrong.

Taj is a legit starting 4. His time is now.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 6, 2014 -> 07:00 AM) Mine is kinda like this http://www.amazon.com/Tungsten-Carbide-Wed...n+wedding+bands Literally cheap as hell and looks nice. I got 2 just in case. I basically have that ring but in white gold.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 4, 2014 -> 12:21 PM) MLB built this system so that there was that loophole, with a huge luxury tax and a major limit on what the teams could do the next year. If a team like the Yankees wants to go all-in on several guys this year, they can legally do it but they pay 2x the cost and they effectively sign no one internationally the next year. How would we like it if we sat out an entire year internationally? That doesn't sound too useful. I'd be fine as long as you went crazy every other year. I believe that is what Texas did?

QUOTE (scs787 @ Feb 3, 2014 -> 01:39 PM) With the new coaches they hired you'd have to think they run at least some sort of hybrid if not a full on 3-4. In an absolutely ideal, yet sensible, world the Bears sign Michael Bennett, Terrance Cody, resign Ratliff, and draft Kony Ealy. In a hybrid that sets up as... 4-3 formations DL-Bennett-Ratliff-Cody-Ealy LB--Briggs-Bostic-SMC (I know Shea isn't ideal but Emery has already talked about him there so give it a shot) 3-4 DL-- Bennett-Cody-Ratliff LB-Smc-Briggs-Bostic-Ealy (in this ideal world Briggs agrees to play inside) Sorry, I don't think they are running a 3-4. -
Gibson is pretty damn good. A legit starting PF in the NBA. And by all reports, if the Bulls wanted to move him, they'd have plenty of people lined up to be willing to take him and his contract. I have it on good record that Thibbs would have been starting him a long time ago if he could but he's been mandated to give Boozer the minutes.

Iowa…can they f***ing hold a lead. Geeze. -
If Taj gets moved, it tells you they plan on going after a major piece. Otherwise no sense in moving Taj, who is actually playing very well.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 10:54 AM) Who cares about having a mediocre Bulls team? I guess you don't. He wasn't tight w/LBJ and didn't recruit him. He's tight with some of the other stars about to come up and you can bet your ass they have talked about playing together. This is a non story.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 07:50 AM) ESPN is more or less keeping the cable/satellite industry alive. If they ever decide to sell their product directly to consumers, it's the end of their industry. ESPN3 is pretty good. You get pretty much everything so for me it isn't ESPN, rather it is my access to other sports.

QUOTE (gatnom @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 07:34 AM) Meant to say other then the Michigan game, they should be undefeated. E.g., they should have only had 1 loss. Should have / would have / could have doesn't mean jack s***. -

They should have 1 loss. They've choked away every game but the Michigan one. Michigan flat beat them. Brutal. They have to learn from these losses. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 10:03 AM) Because we lost 99 games while playing fundamentally awful baseball while having a 120 million dollar payroll. Why would anyone think it's a good idea to extend him now? I presume it has to do with the fact that his contract was up at the end of the year (or something like that) and they don't want a lame duck manager. Ventura had an absolutely fantastic first season and while last season was disappointing it wasn't as if people were expecting the club to be a playoff team. I don't have an issue with that.

Fantasy question. I'm in 1st place (w/Durant) and lost my 2nd point guard (1st rose, then Jrue) but have Isiah whose been good. Considering a Rubio/Love for Lee/Dirk deal. I'd be getting Rubio and Love. Does that make sense?
