  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 01:26 PM) Same thing happeend out here when they opened the first Chick Fila....very quickly people stopped going, haha. Chick-Fil-A (or as my daughter calls it, Chicken Filet) just f***ing rocks for (duh) Chicken Nuggets. This right here was the most profound stupid post ever.
  2. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 01:17 AM) Beck hasn't talked about it at all... all he talks about lately is acorn. O'Reilly has talked about it the past couple days though. Glenn Beck has started to make Sean Hannity look like a damn liberal. He's become a crying, flaming idiot. And I'm not a Hannity fan, either. He's straight GOP talking points man.
  3. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 12:58 AM) Yeah, I really don't get this one either. I mean, even Fox isn't talking about it, WTF? Good point. BTW, I want to steal your line that you stole on facebook about being wrong. That's a good one.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 04:49 PM) can you think of any other body part that would be referred to as "other body parts"? would they say "other body parts" if it was a leg, or foot, or ear, or hand, or knee? It was a fair assumption IMO, and appears to be correct. Although I still don't think the whole story is out there. It sounds like to me there were some shemans leaving the scene, if you know what I mean. But we'll never know because, well, we just won't.
  5. If you want to get downright technical, the president with the above quote DOES say that we are NOT a Christian nation. However, the context of all that to make it something it is not goes too far. And there's a lot of selected editing in the DailyKos piece - you can see it. But I'm not going to defend Hannity here, because he takes something like this and runs where no one else does.

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 03:16 PM) Maybe there were Shemales involved that bolted? It's sad either way. RIP...hope you get a room with Michael Hutchence. ... the devil inside... the devil inside... ... every single one of us has the devil inside... I was wondering if someone else would remember this.
  7. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 01:59 PM) I love your new avatar Yea, I have to give you a hat-tip for that one.
  8. Sonic's food, I 100% agree with BS's comment - it's subpar - and that's probably being generous. However, for some reason, I am seriously addicted to their cherry coke's. They have a really good fizzy coke mixture.
  9. QUOTE (Chet Lemon @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 07:52 PM) I would prefer policy speeches to begin and end with facts and evidence. It is useful to quote a religion's text to show religious terrorists the betrayal of their own faith of which they claim to be defending. When speaking in Muslim countries where Muslim terrorists are cultivated, it is more useful to quote the Quran than the Bible to point out the terrorists' hypocrisy regarding their religion. That wasn't my point at all. With that said, of course what you're saying here is valid.
  10. This is a copout. It's not a quote of anything. It's a paraphrase... if this is the same thing lf was talking about.
  11. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 03:19 PM) Well, in that case, I suck. Me too. That's why I have the strawman now.
  12. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 03:16 PM) He ended the speech with quotes from the Koran, Torah, and the Bible FWIW. That's ok, I guess. But, it's pathetic how PC our country has gotten. Could he just end a policy speech over here with a Bible verse? No. It might offend someone.
  13. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 03:07 PM) Grrr. Ok I might have to take back what I said. There's 2 fathers he could be talking about though, I think his biological father (left when he was 2, wasn't in his life) was the Muslim one, and the one his mother married was the atheist. Sorry - didn't mean to lead you down the wrong path. I posted this yesterday before the speech today. What he said today wasn't what I was trying to point out.
  14. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 01:48 PM) A very rough* summary of the English-language Arab editorials I've read today about Obama's speech: -Overall, very positive reception. They like what they hear and they want to believe him. -Still, much cynicism and doubt. They say "we've heard it all before" or "they're just words, nice to hear, but need action" -They liked that he cited Koranic verses and understood their religion -They liked that he was up-front about America's relationship with Israel (i.e., it's not going to change) and liked how he addressed the Palestinians' cause as legitimate, even though he denounced violence (he actually used the words "resistance" and "occupation" IIRC). They still want to see progress even though Netanyahu makes it difficult. *a bunch of stuff I've read lumped together, not in any way intended to look like a cohesive, unified view. It's really cool how he can actually use Koranic verses in an overseas policy speech, but yet, if anyone does that over here with regards to the Bible, they are outrightly dismissed as a "right wing lunatic" (read: liberal version of "evangelical") ... and it's funny how he can paraphrase the Bible in speeches over here, but he better not quote it, because some people might get offended. As a note: I don't care that he used Koranic verses, just pointing out the hypocritical elements of our friendly liberals in this country.
  15. lf, it's not what he said in the speech today, it was what he said in a presser yesterday. I will have to go see if I can find the link, since I just cleared my cookies and cache.
  16. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 07:39 AM) Irony ftw
  17. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 09:17 PM) Nice, Obama is taking 3,000 secret service agents with him to Egypt... According to wiki, there's only 4,400 sworn secret service agents. I don't know, but 3,000 seems a bit excessive. I just don't get it. Doesn't a president usually bring maybe 50-75 agents with him on a trip like this? He's bringing his own small army down there with him. And those 3,000 aren't including all the military personal that usually comes with him. Maybe he's planning on doing a surprise take over of Egypt? If that's true (3,000 SS agents), then someone somewhere is trying to do something... I'll leave that nebulous and right there. Frankly, BearSox, if it's needed, it shouldn't be questioned. Period.
  18. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 03:00 PM) Technically true, but as a corporate entity (or series of entities) its primary motivation/bottom line is to make money. Which explains so many things. If Obama was a Republican, and was as popular as he is now, he would be getting nonsense headlines like "Obama likes cheeseburgers" or "Obama's wife wears a short skirt." Ok dude, now you're talking out your ass. Let 'er rip.
  19. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 12:58 PM) RNCC, please remember that you need include complete quotes: DNCC, please take the same advice.
  20. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 12:42 PM) a. lol @ you drawing that comparison. Some member of a government agency f***ed up, that's not the same thing as the president authorizing its release. b. I think you're trying to defend Cheney here, but in reality he is making s*** up. I don't know if he convinced himself that was true or what, but even if it was, it's not like that's something that can just be proven with a simple document request, and the concept doesn't even logically follow anyway. Don't take my word for it, take Director Mueller's word: It's all subjective. But of course, if the GOP is saying it, it must be bulls***. If a Democrat says it, it must be the truth.
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 07:19 AM) The apparent absence of scouting for young pitchers we are about to face for the first time. Amen. I have NEVER gotten this.
  22. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 11:46 AM) My daughter was stoked because it turns out the President gets exactly the same topping on his Five Guys burger as she does. That's too funny.
  23. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090603/ap_on_...us_nuclear_list Way to go. But dammit, we better not release anything of value with regard to proving any GOP person right. Oh the irony. And, yes, we trust our government to all things health care with these kind of "mistakes".
  24. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 11:33 AM) The actual quote: How can you dispute that? Because it's flat out wrong? Now we'll get all the wiki heads out there to put that America is around 10th... it's cherry picking to make a point... imagine that.
