QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 27, 2009 -> 07:11 AM) The Obama administration has already made leaps and bounds past BushCo in terms of releasing information documents. BUT, in this case, this pisses me off, and its stinks of corruption. They'd better the heck reverse course on protecting Rahm this way, and soon. I agree completely that this is a B.S. move. NSS, with respect, no, the Obama administration has NOT made leaps and bounds about releasing information. They release what they WANT to release. I'm quite tired of the "Obama is so much better" when in reality, he's doing exactly the same things, just with a different political agenda.

QUOTE (rangercal @ Mar 20, 2009 -> 01:40 AM) wow. Did not realize FS was hacked. When did this happen? About a month ago and no one has fixed it. I can try maybe sometime later.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 06:51 PM) Card check horror story in real life. Employees threatened, visited at homes, etc, just like everyone fears would happen. I also like the fact that Fred Smith (CEO of FedEx) came right out and said if this passes, he will cancel his $5 billion order for jets from Boeing. Nothing like taking MORE money right out of circulation... keep going, Mr. Obama, you will get your socialistic state if you keep it up. Capitalism sucks!

QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 12:27 AM) Actually, I think Barney Frank is wholly appropriate for calling Scalia a homophobe. It's a fully accurate term in my opinion. However, I just intensely dislike Barney Frank for reasons having to do with my car. I know it's your opinion, but what's it based on?
-
QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 25, 2009 -> 10:28 AM) So, am I the last person on Earth to know that Barney Frank is openly gay? Probably. Does this now explain the "homophobe" comment about Scalia?

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 23, 2009 -> 04:38 PM) I think it's a lack of focus... or maybe better explained as a pandering to the lowest common denominator kind of thing. Let me try and explain this because I dont think either of those are the words / description I am looking for. Basically, the idea is to cut wasteful spending. And both parties tend to favor that, but they define "waste" differently. Now, the GOP has taken the road of basically mocking any "pork" or "earmarks" as wasteful. When in fact, what they are probably trying to do is call the act of last second earmarks as being wrong (which I agree), but their collateral damage is that the way they attack these things is by calling all the projects themselves wasteful. When i say they are "pandering to the lowest common denominator" what I mean is they are trying SO hard to demonize earmarks and last second inserts, that they are blasting them all as wasteful in an attempt to gain grassroots support to diminish the role of government. And by doing so, they actually hurt the legitimacy of important projects. Does that make any sense? I hope so. I think it's really more of a bad tactics thing. This is a pretty good thought. The tactics of both parties is really bad on this.

Hmmm. Two interesting pictures, IMO. First, capitalism is organized crime? WTF? Yea, yea, fringe loonies, and DukeNukeEm. Okay. You know, though, that's JUST the message that Democrats are sending. After this week, it's pretty much proven. But I have to love the OBAMAMania! that is taking place, and I think this picture displays it nicely. I understand the "history" and all, but holy s***... this guy IS a rock star, just like I was mocking last summer. IMO, his Leno appearance is tacky, at best, forget the "special olympics" comment, which is stupid to even be discussing anyway other then the fact of the hypocracy as I noted in another thread. Dumb comment, but not worth the stupidity coming from the right about it. My point remains, this guy loves the attention and is one very arrogant man.
-
Let's see. If Rush Stewart had this on, it would be seen for the joke that it is, right? *crickets*
-
There's two things that come to mind for me on the "special olympics" outrage... First, it's a completely stupid outrage, but it does show what Obama thinks when the telepromter isn't telling him what to say. But, again, I repeat, this is stupid outrage and should really be dismissed as so... he's not nearly so polished, is my point here... BUT WAIT... (I feel like an infomercial)... If this were a Republican saying this, they would have been CRUCIFIED and we would be heeding calls of resignation by now, and I'm damn serious about this. Hello, Trent Lott, etc. That line of hypocracy is where I have a problem.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 20, 2009 -> 09:50 AM) Thanks...and if you felt a sudden rash or ringing in your ears recently it's because they kept sending me back to Texas over the past 2 weeks. It was brutal. I need to give you my cell phone #, seriously.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 20, 2009 -> 08:07 AM) Seriously? The wrong kind of DVD is "the biggest slap int he face thing in a long long time"? Hell, Obama himself has done worse than that in international relations already and he's been in office for 2 months. Bush did a bazillion things on the international stage more offensive than this. I'm starting to think maybe you are just going that far over the top now for the entertainment value. No, the fact that he gave the PM of GB DVDs. That's pathetic, considering what they gave him. Look at southsider's post. Obama IS an embarassment on this stuff. But, just as I predicted, he gets defended... look at the reactions of AHB - and I would say that it's typical... defend Obama at all costs, while everything GOP people do is the "real" embarassment. And the "red button" incident. I mean, holy s***, what the hell are these people doing? It's pathetic.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 08:33 PM) http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics...o-in-No-10.html Seems like Obama's well thought out gift to the British PM DOESN'T EVEN WORK IN ENGLAND! It's a good thing we were saved from a VP in training, and instead have a President in training. It's doing wonders with out relations with our allies. This was the biggest slap in the face thing in a long long time. This guy seriously has no clue on international political ettiquete (sp)... he's too busy being an arrogant dick. Yes, I said it. I know it's symbolic... but dammit, have your staff take care of the things that are highly symbolic and do the right thing. His mere "presence" is supposed to awe people, and it's becoming very nauseating. /waits for the "oh it doesn't really matter" pitchfork crowd defending Obama's every breath...

QUOTE (longshot7 @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 10:36 AM) And this falls into category #2. Abortion is illegal in Brazil as well except in these cases, and the doctors in this case felt that the girl's life was in danger. What burns me is the church removing any chance of "salvation" for the girl for making a choice to save her own life. The cardinals who made this decision deserve to burn in hell. I'm going to a cold hell, (it must be really cold there today) because I agree with you.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 01:09 PM) Oh, I can't see this...

QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 12:25 PM) Yeah, it's going to be really annoying if the media is just going to take every really big operating cost of any company that's taken bailout money and framing it in the context of taxpayer fraud to provoke more unnecessary populist outrage. Oh my Gosh... you have the White House and Congress coreographing this s***. I told you once that this is class warfare. That's what's happening before our very eyes.
-
OH NOES! We better get that health care fast-tracked before that popularity goes away. Jimmy Carter, table of (now) two, your table is right this way. However, Rasmussen polls have a lot to be desired... I'll point that out right away.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 07:45 AM) Turn down the dial, man. Must every single thing you disagree with be turned into an absurd exaggeration? No one is saying anything of the sort. I work in the financial industry, and generally tend to agree with people say that Congress and the government shouldn't get overly involved in it. However, in the case of AIG, they are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay f***ed up, and yes, they may need to be taken over, split apart and recreated as some new companies, by the government (or with the help of the government). That's how bad things seem there. But no one is suggesting we do this across the board, and I don't even like that we did it as much as we did with TARP. You know, most people with common sense understand this. However, I'm not sure that the idiots running the White House do. Therein lies the problem. Timothy "Boob" Geitner, for someone who was a GENIUS and HAD to have the job, is more incompetent then Paulson was, and that's saying a lot.

QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 05:55 PM) you are phenomenal at taking what people say, miss the point of everyone and extrapolate it to something else nobody, in the world has ever said. Really? I see examples of what you all say here every day. Yes, my evil plot is finally deployed! I owe Balta a M2M post... I just finished my CPEs. Balta, when do you leave?

And one more thing. Barney Frank = Joseph McCarthy. That is all.
