QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 07:51 AM) Shures are freaking awwsome so im pretty sure your bias isnt too bad. I use the Bose in-ears and some of the Shure's absolutlely make mine sound like the crappy stock Apple buds. Shure is better then Bose, is that what you're saying?
  2. Obama must hate gays. What a joke the far left is.
  3. Everything bad is always George W. Bush's fault. We know after 8 years. What's beautiful is, everything is going to be George W. Bush's fault well after he's gone and not Obama's fault.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 20, 2008 -> 08:06 PM) Honestly, gas that comes out of your mouth isn't as much of a contributor as gas coming out of other locations on the human body. I know but if we all just stop breathing, we won't have to worry about carbon pollution anymore... at all... yay! The earth is saved!
  5. Let's all just stop breathing, ok? That would solve the problem once and for all.
  6. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 19, 2008 -> 11:56 AM) I've been impressed all along with the transition efforts of Bush and Obama, particularly Bush. Democrats just want to trash GWB all they can. The man is a stand up decent man of good character, but he has definitely made some mistakes along the way. I'm not sure what to think of the moral character of Obama. As a comparison to Bill Clinton, Obama has good moral character. However, I think that Obama has some very shady dealings in the past as well as right now that we don't even begin to know about. I don't know, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until time proves otherwise.
  7. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 19, 2008 -> 03:17 PM) Every day on NPR is a story about how great rates are right now but how you need a 750+ score to qualify. I've also noticed significantly less CC junk mail the past several months. I have to agree with everyone who is saying that the auto industry is an entirely different animal than the auto industry. If the US banking system failed, I'd imagine it would quickly spark a deep, world-wide depression. I'll tell you what, it really pisses me off that I just lost my job and have to verify income. If not, I would be refinancing because I have a damn good credit score and the value on my house to back it up. I would LOVE a 4.xx% note.
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 15, 2008 -> 05:35 PM) It's just as bewildering that after 8 years of quite possibly the worst administration in our history there are people out there that stick up for it. What exactly has Bush and his cronies done that make you proud? What will his legacy leave other than utter failure? For crying out loud his approval ratings are not far from Blagojevich's. I can't stand the thought of Obama as president and the policies he's getting ready to put in place, but you know what? I still respect the office of president and still respect that the man got elected even though I disagree with him politically, unlike most of you people as evidenced by this post right here.
  9. Oh, and your avatar cracks me up, Big Sqwert.
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 15, 2008 -> 03:33 PM) Leave it to my wife: Ruined a good thing, eh? Meh - everything we eat, including vegtables, causes cancer of some kind by some type of stretch. Now granted, I think that's why cancer rates have gone up so much (one they diagnose it as such where 100 years ago they had no idea what cancer was) and second, water and everything we touch now has some chemical in it, even organic food.
  11. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 15, 2008 -> 02:04 PM) Pretty weak correlation if you ask me. About as much correlation as John McCain being George W. Bush the Second. It's funny when the same games are played by "your guy" how he's defended in his actions.
  12. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 15, 2008 -> 02:00 PM) So what exactly are you accusing him of? Being George W. Bush the Second. How ironic, huh?
  13. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Dec 14, 2008 -> 08:11 AM) OK, just check oout the first line in this story about Obama: http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/O/OBA...EMPLATE=DEFAULT NOW they tell us. All this time I thought he was just fresh and dynamic, full of hopey and changy? I have seen more about "inexperience" and "Obama" in the same sentance from our oh-so-glorious main stream media since election day then "Bush" "sucks" and "Iraq" from 2003 on. It cracks me up how all of a sudden, he's no longer the messiah. Keep the expectations low, you know.
  14. Remember the Saddam statue and the shoe beating? This is the same thing... that is one of the biggest lack of respect things an Arab can do to someone.
  15. All I have to say is, Thank God. Karma is a b****, even though it's an over-reaction. That prima-donna asshole was hated here...
  16. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Dec 13, 2008 -> 12:01 AM) What I can't believe is what so many people here are advocating, essentially going back on the word of a company who expected and received decades of loyalty from their employees in exchange for health benefits and a pension. It's sad that this is seen as unacceptable by so many here. Toyota/Honda/Nissan's advantage? They don't have nearly a century of history behind them of building cars in the US and don't have those legacy costs. In 15 years, they will. Chrysler got a bailout loan thirty years ago and it worked for them for quite some time. No where in my post did I say that. I just said the business model that they have today doesn't work.
  17. It's as simple as this... The legacy car company business model is dead. Until they recognize that and MORE IMPORTANTLY do something about it, they will not make money. The bailout is not the point, other then we're on the hook for their stupidity (oh, wait, just like everything else now).
  18. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 06:43 PM) Something happened to me when i opened the NFL page around 2:30 today, my browser continually launched new pages until I rebooted the computer. Im thinking that might have something to do with it T.O. Doesnt like his QB, Coaches, and is angry that someone else is getting all of the attention in the offense? Say it aint so. Kyyle, I just went in the thread and I didn't see anything - can you give me any other details?
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 10, 2008 -> 07:42 PM) Trouble with that statement is...at least a decent chunk of the middle management is in some fashion also going to have been involved in the activities in the CDS market that brought the company to its knees. Yea, and they were doing what they were told. It's not a black and white thing in this case. I always tend to side on the side of the workers below the very top because a lot of times, they're powerless to stop what's going on. Believe me, I just lived the part about "powerless to stop what's going on"... if I would have just clicked my heels and saluted to the b****es, I would have been fine.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 10, 2008 -> 07:28 PM) Let me make this perfectly clear....I have no interest in giving the SAME PEOPLE who brought the company down incentive to stay. At the very top, I agree. The middle management is a totally different thing.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 10, 2008 -> 06:17 PM) I swear, I need to find a way to bring a major American company to its knees. It's the most profitable thing out there you can do right now. Who runs the company? I know that ya'll will never, ever understand this... and I'm not condoning (exactly) what AIG is doing, but you have to give these people incentive to stay. Although, the market is not exactly what it was even six months ago, don't I know that well. They can't bail to another job quite as easy.
  22. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Dec 10, 2008 -> 09:57 AM) I actually miss the days of taking exams on finals week. In fact, I've taken only one writing exam since entering graduate school last Fall and it accounted for 15% of the overall grade. I'm done now, though. These last two days I've spent over 12 hours completing a take-home examination for my Statistical Applications course. Hopefully none of you will have to deal with bivariate regression, Factor Analysis/ANOVAs, or any other statistical program available on the devil's playground (SPSS). SPSS brings back some bad and painful memories.
