  1. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 09:17 AM) Will the Fed. be guaranteeing 10% S&P 500 returns next? So how much is this going to hurt the American taxpayer in the long run? I guess it depends, huh? But a lot, I have to figure.
  2. I loved the game of the phantom relief call. I was there.
  3. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 04:03 PM) 50 least favorite Sox players Jaime f***ing Fatass Navarro. Next?
  4. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 09:41 AM) But there is no inconsistency here. The ACLU's mission statement is to protect you from the GOVERNMENT not from private citizens. http://www.aclu.org/about/index.html Notice in right to privacy it states from unwarranted government intrusion. The question really is, what could the ACLU even do? Are there any Civil law "email hacking" statutes? Because under what theory of law would hacking an email fall under? Its not damage to property, its not negligence, perhaps theft but that would once again be criminal, you cant really do conversion, quantum meriut doesnt really work, there is no real fraud, and the damages are not monetary. Maybe you could sue for a permanent injunction to stop the hacking, but the only repercussion for failing to follow an injunction is more penalties, so if hacking itself is a crime it would be like getting a permanent injunction for your neighbor to stop stealing your money. Its important to remember that civil liberties generally apply to govt action, because the bill of rights protects you from the govt. It does not protect you from private entities or private citizens. That is why if you are at my house I could say: "You can never say the phrase 'Cubs World Series'". And it would not be a first amendment violation, as Im a private actor. Now lets say it turned out that the Bush administration was behind the email hacking, then Im pretty sure the ACLU would get involved and be quite happy to stand up for Palin's right to privacy from govt intrusion. You're right about that. I just like to pick on the ACLU. I wasn't trying to start something big on this.
  5. Seriously, it's not a big deal. I just like ripping the ACLU for inconsistency.
  6. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 03:05 AM) I believe we'll sweep Minnesota in Minnesota. This is entirely out of my character, but I've grown tired of this inevitable series lost to Minnesota more than a month prior to now. Nice.
  7. I really hope that Tiggers rain out doesn't matter, but something tells me the Sox are going to have to win their last two games of the year to make the playoffs... and that's not easy.
  8. QUOTE (BearSox @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 06:33 AM) The ACLU will probably defend the hackers saying it's part of their freedom to hack into a public figure's e-mail account if it helps them to know that person better. PRIVACY! If this were someone else, the ALCU would be all over this, citing privacy concerns. It's just funny.
  9. KC is burning f***ing hot right now. Those guys always play the best baseball in September when they're buried. So, of course we get them on the schedule now. Not to mention, for whatever reason, when we need the games the most against KC, they kick our ass. They always play us better then other division rivals (Twinkees not withstanding). Not a good situation at all.
  10. My question is where's the ACLU lawsuits about privacy and all that crap? Oh, I forgot, it's Repulican Sarah Palin.
  11. I'm sure this has been debated like hell in here, but Playstation 3, Xbox, ??? (I don't feel like reading 95 pages). I do like the Blu-Ray in the PS3. And I assume Xbox you can connect to the internet as well?
  12. QUOTE (Steff @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 09:11 PM) Love this Though she probably wouldn't when she saw pictures of it in 5 years. Yup... get those blackmail pics when you can... I think Alissa's going as a mermaid this year. She has a fascination with Little Mermaid. Mrs. Kap's going to make the costume, if she feels up to it. We'll have to post some pics of the kiddos somewhere.
  13. You can't stand it, can you? Viva la RSO!
  14. Why do people have to be so ignorant? That account I'm sure has been wiped clean by now...
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 03:26 PM) Hmmm... In a $100 million deal signed in 2006, AIG agreed to become the principle sponsor of the Manchester United soccer team. Congrats Americans! We own a big sponsorship in European soccer! That's like naming rights to anything. Whatever.
  16. QUOTE (Shadows @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 01:36 PM) It released September 14th for 360 Yes, with RB1 and RB2 +DL content it will have 500 + songs Its a great buy based off that, it can never really get old. Wow. I didn't realize it was out already! Oh well, me and me playstation2 suck anyway.
  17. Hey, speaking of Sarb-Ox, IT's WORKED REALLY FREAKING WELL, NOW HASN'T IT? It's juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust a bit ironic.
  18. QUOTE (Shadows @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 12:01 PM) It is AWESOME.. there are a handful of meh songs but overall its the best set list for any music game ever. The songs are so badass, add it in to the fact that Rock Band 1 transfers over along with all the DL s*** Ive got 200 songs on my game right now. So when you play the tour and s***, you rarely ever see repeats. It puts the Rock Band 1 songs and the DL content into the tour when you play mystery set lists. So unlike Rock Band 1, you don't end up playing Train Kept a Rollin 15 times on the tour (Hate it) Pain Killer by Judas Priest is f***ing fun as hell to play I thought it wasn't out until October? And they said that it will have 500 songs. Cool.
  19. Good grief. I don't think ANYONE was wishing Palin to get axed, but I did say I could see it happen if something blew up. I remember what I said. Harriet Myers is to George W Bush as Sarah Palin is to John McCain... POTENTIALLY. Guess it hasn't worked out that way.
  20. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 10:56 AM) I remember, before the thread turned into a steaming pile of s***, that someone suggested the idea that McCain may not have done his homework, and that if that was true, the pick could blow up in his face. I thought that might've been kap but I don't remember. I think I said something along those lines.
  21. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 10:45 AM) I think that was kapkomet wasn't it? I don't think so? Hell I don't remember yesterday, let alone two weeks ago.
  22. Updated. In the single digits now. The end of September can't come soon enough... just as long as we're still on top of the standings.
  23. MN = 9. The calendar's starting to look better and better for the Sox. I sure would love to have a 4 or so game lead before next week when we get sw... WHEN WE KICK THEIR ASS UP AT THE HUMPME DOME!
