QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 06:30 PM) People were askin, so I figured I'd kill 2 birds with 1 stone. People? Like who? You mean he has friends? This is so cool, the one time that he won't see it. I better write the book on southsider while I can.

I was going to post that. But I thought I'd wait until it was all over.

ROTFLMAO Damn, only Gage can Gage the welcome post to our resident linguist mod.

They just got the train running two months ago - the old one was broken down and they were using shuttles for a while. The new train you can get through the whole airport in less then 15 minutes now - and for anyone that's been here Dallas is a HUMONGOUS airport, so less then 15 mins. for this place is pretty damn good. I miss working out at the airport. That was fun.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) Knowing me and knowing Texas I would say a lynch mob.

I saw this when we were looking for things to do when we were up there in September that it was coming. It looks like a pretty neat exhibit.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 04:16 PM) Well, that decides it. I'm moving to Texas. We'd be glad to have ya... Now... who's *WE*?

Hello, Darwin Award winner. Now the question is, am I talking about the news story or am I talking about Steff running month end reports?

Everyone (SLaP PEOPLE!!!): I'd like to officially welcome ChiSoxyGirl to the mod ranks for SLaP! She's been a great poster here on Soxtalk for quite a while now, and has always been well respected and a joy to have as a member of Soxtalk, especially in the 'heated' SLaP forum . I think she'll be a wonderful addition as we have more activity and conversation in the SLaP forum during the offseason. Please join me in welcoming her to the mod ranks! Kap

QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 11:50 PM) People die in wars, suck it up. America is so much safer now. And build your own damn house, don't wait for some government trailer like it's free cheese. Damn it's fun being a republican Seriously, that's bull s***.

I never said that anything was "unlawful" according to present laws, but the "leaks" of this kind are just as damaging. Hell yes, the CIA does stuff that we will NEVER find out about. It's one of the reasons we sit here right now and debate this s***.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 10:53 PM) No, when it's against the law, there's an investigation. Find me the law that says its illegal to leak a thing the CIA is doing, not the name of a person. Furthermore...given that what the administration has done may very well be illegal, or at least in violation of the laws of the countries in which the people were held...do you think they'd want an investigation into how it leaked, when that investigation could expose the other things that have been done? (treatment of the prisoners in those faciliteis, for example). A blown operation is a blown operation. And it's just convenient that it's blown, all in the name of "political correctness"? I know why the law was written. I'm just playing devil's advocate here.

Oh, that's nice. Beautiful. So whenever it fits an agenda one way, it's ok, but it's not ok in another? It's the same damn thing. Period.
-
If it were a Dem, they'd say they weren't biased. This guy wanted someone independant (the Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court) to just assign it and be done with it.
-
But notice how he recused himself without having to be forced into it.

Um yea... http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42702

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 07:46 PM) More bad news for Delay...The Jack Abramoff (btw, isnt' that the worst sounding name you've ever heard?) case is also getting closer and closer to the hammer...now emails are surfacing which implicate his staff in that mess. The problem I have with that stuff is it is so easily fabricated.

QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) If PK leaves, the first call KW should make is to Texas and see what it would take to acquire Teixeira. If it's Contreras, Marte, and a prospect, you'd have to strongly consider it. Yep. I agree.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 06:33 PM) I keep hearing rumblings that S-O is eventually going to apply to private companies. Ahh. My gold mine is coming then. Actually, I'm not sure how it can - but I'll explain that in a later post, if any of you care. It can RESEMBLE S-O. But it would be more civil law vs. a felony, say.
-
There's tremendous opportunities for a LOT of this stuff. I've had some ideas, but no network to get them off the ground. That's my single biggest problem with anything, and most people's problem when starting a business. Meanwhile, software compliance for S-O is indeed important. Maybe we should seriously chat more offline.
-
I'm not. I may go to the polls, but I won't vote for or against that proposition. Get the hell out of my life, government.
