QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:23 PM) Jerry's got something on Bud...
-
Oh, you're right Soxy, they needed Roger Clemens' mom's story to come true. THAT's what it is.
-
Why on earth would they want the WHITE SOX to win? Seriously? I mean we're all prejudiced. But why would MLB want them to win?

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 08:30 PM) If Houston doesn't win all 3 in Houston, they'll have to defeat Buehrle and Garland back to back in Chicago. That's even tougher. (Thunder...) Um, seriously, no it's not.

QUOTE(bighurt2719 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) yeah, same here, who cares? when we win i'm sure we'll be the next "america's team" for one lousy year like the gay-ass red sawx. actually, we won't. We're going to be that "one year flash in the pan". WHO CARES? WE WIN, WE WIN 2005 FOREVER.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) I don't want this Series going back to Chicago...that would mean Houston has some momentum going into the games, and with Pettitte and Oswalt pitching, I would not like our chances. You raise a good point there... IF Houston wins two of three, and we go back to Chicago - I certainly don't want to face Pettitte and (potentially) Oswalt back to back to try to clinch. That's tough. I said this for game three in LA, I say this for tonight, I think tonight's game wins the whole shebang, and yes, I mean that if Houston wins, it gets very tough for us. IMO, the key for us tonight is to keep playing loosey goosey. We just need to keep that confidence and that swaggar and we'll be fine.

For anyone to even go with this story shows how pathetic a society we live in.

Guys and gals, We welcome you to soxtalk! I want to clarify a couple of things. First, note that sarcasm is in green, as in, we don't like newbies (noobs) around here! If you decide you're brave enough to start a thread, that's cool. But PLEASE don't start a thread saying, "I bet this has already been posted". If you have to start a topic that way, then LOOK FOR IT. I know that the search has been disabled, and we will fix that shortly after the World Series. But it's certainly better to read the threads, and learn more about soxtalk, then it is to clutter up everything by starting 500 of the same threads. Also, before jumping down people's throats about opinions you may disagree with, it might be best to read for a while to learn people's posting tendencies. Kapkomet is a great poster, he will debate anything. But that southsider, he'll rip you to shreds if you disagree with him. You get the idea. This is 100% the most exciting time in White Sox baseball history for 99.9% of us here. The remaining .1% is reserved for old farts like Texsox, who was around for the 1959 series, so this is "as exciting" instead of the "most exciting" time for us fans. We're glad you're here, and stick around after the Series so we can talk it up about the offseason. Bottom line: a little common sense goes a long way while learning the ropes here. If you have questions, PM (private message) one of us in the red names at the bottom of the main board page (we're the admins). Kap

Where is the congressional investigations on the 270 or so members (who have admitted) on violations of travel misuses and abuses? Where is the congressional investigations of the 75 or so senators who did the same thing Frist did, but didn't "get caught"? That's more my point. THEY ALL DO IT, and it's so partisan when they start choking each other's chicken, yes, the "blow job" included. It's so sad. Our government is nothing but corruption.

I think it's funy that they are yelling about this so much. You don't think that they mysteriously turn on the air handlers at certain times, do you?
-
Let's just rid Washington of every f***ing Republican, because they're all assholes who are power hungry, puppy kicking, rich mother f***ers that are after assholes like you and me. I swear, that's what this is turning into.

DOH Pass the vote, I meant to say.

QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 01:55 AM) hmm interesting I wonder if some bitter Conservatives didnt point Knight Ridder in the general direction of this story. lol Likely. There's no way she will get nominated unless something earth-shattering happens.

Dang, ya'll are quick. Indeed, she was a pioneer and a brave person. RIP, Rosa.

QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) Garland: 3.50 ERA, 115K, 26 longballs Oswalt: 2.94 ERA, 184K, 18 longballs This doesn't tell the full story, however. Even as his stats are better than Garland's, his stuff is much better, and, of course, he has the Astros home factor behind it. The Astros are the favorites for Game 3, and if you don't see that, step back from the kool-aid. However, Podsednik recently hit a walkoff to CF off Brad Lidge. So, all bets are off. But I don't think we'll see two deviations from reality so close together. You spend more time looking up this s*** then supporting the team. *sniff, sniff* what's that smell? :headshake

This thread has turned into an assmunch thread. Us damn couch managers. We know too f***ing much.

QUOTE(GSH @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 01:58 AM) Ok I'm in...it's going to take some time to read all these post. I was reading Joe Crede's stats...he was born in 1978...hell I was selling dime bags in high school for beer money that year :finger And the Rally Crede was there, smoking it all.

You've trained the cat well... or at least as much as a cat can be trained.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 01:38 AM) Do you even remember which games he got the blown saves in? I remember he choked in Boston. Well, choked may be too strong, but he got his ass rocked.
-
The Rally Crede named the damn horse with no name.
-
We're going to do something very cool with that thread during the offseason. CLASSIC. That's your hint.
-
oh, so that's how you got all that damn time to find all those articles bashing Bush. /now back on topic. Jenks will come back, but I agree with the sentiment that they should watch the back to back gig.
