That's the same question I have. And they NEVER have a comeback to this question, so they must not care.

I'm not defending Bush, although it will probably come across that way. "Hijackings" are not crashing airplanes into buildings. I worked for an airline. They get threats like this more often then most of the public would care to know. "Hijackings" were just that, until 9/11. Bin Laden had already attacked MANY American interests, and this document says that he wanted to strike in the United States, which had not happened before. Attempts, yes, but nothing happened. Any moron (including Bush if you want to look at it that way) knew before 9/11 that bin Laden was trying to hit our shores. So, why is it that a directive was put in place to take out the Taliban/bin Laden/Al Queda before 9/11 happened? Yes, the Clinton administration started it, sort of, but it was finalized a week before 9/11. Why, then, is there not a "Clinton is a dangerous man" tirade going on across America? What documents did he see, that we will NEVER know? I think it took balls for Bush's people to even release this document, they didn't even have to. But for people to say that Bush is a "dangerous man" for failure to act on 9/11 is hypocritical because NO ONE ever acted on it, and now, Bush has acted. I won't even get into if it's right or wrong, because I think the jury is still out. This begs the question - who would have done anything different? Al Gore? LMAO. No way. Folks are living a pipe dream if they think that anyone would have acted different. It wasn't until 3,000 people died that anyone wanted to bother. Not Bush, not Clinton, not anyone else.
  3. Linky Link That's really sad... I feel bad for Weird Al...
  4. Wow, so baseball comes out and says they won't retest old specimens and ... the FEDS come in to seize them? Sounds like a blackmail plot to me to enforce what the government wants on drug testing.
  5. Dallas, being where I live and that's the NHL entertainment around here, I went to almost all their games this year, and when Dallas was losing, they were losing 1-0 and 2-1 except for about the first 15 games of the year. Turco saved their ass more then you know, but they couldn't put the puck in a 10 by 10 net at that point in the season. Mike Modano has become a marginal player at best, and their defense took a huge hit losing Hatcher, you want to know how big? Look at Matvitchuk, THE GUY to replace Hatcher, now a -5 in two games against Colorado in the playoffs. So, why did Turco suck? He didn't. Their defense did and their offense was worse. So he got blamed on things that weren't his fault. THAT might keep him from winning the Vezina but Nabokov shouldn't.
  6. Brodeur will win probably on reputation alone, which sucks. But there were a lot of people jumping on the Luongo bandwagon late season, and deservedly so. And Nabokov certainly doesn't deserve it, Turco played a much better season then Nabokov overall.
  7. You gotta tell the boss that teaching pays more here...
  8. So do we. It's called a satellite dish. Wonderful technology. That means you can live ANYWHERE and see all the Sox games. So take your happy ass in the 50 degree outside temp., enjoying your brown leafless trees while we're enjoying our nice lower 80's in the beautifully green scenery...
  9. That's just freaking wrong.
  10. We're getting ready to build a house, so money is tight to even take a long weekend drive, etc. But I really want to get to Big Bend, especially right now being wildflower season and all... it's beautiful this time of year around here.
  11. what's the fastest place on the net to get game updates? yahoo is terribly slow - as of right now you just posted 2 out in the bottom of the 5th and they are still top of the fifth no runs scored...
  12. You got my point though. I wouldn't want Estes either. I started the thread that way because I knew that a lot of people would say the same thing - that it's one game etc etc etc etc and would say the opposite regarding the game the other night. I wasn't trying to single anyone in particular out, just sayin' is all...
  13. I see a lot of games, and I admin/update www.darcyhordichuk.com, so I guess you can say I have a vested interest!
  14. And facing 2475 shots in 72 games played? He faced almost 35 shots a game! If they cut that down to high 20's, there's a whole lot less flukey goals that go in. The man was amazing this year and deserves some hardware... but he won't get it because he has 33 losses to go along with all those rubber marks from getting pelted all year and it certainly is not his fault.
  15. If Detroit gets ousted right away, which I'd love, I think Dallas has a GREAT shot at the Cup. And I'll be there...
  16. So we should just stick our collective asses on the bench and let the rest of the world destroy itself? That would be cool. At least our government wouldn't have a deficit anymore by sending money to all these "we're gonna fight everyone in our region" countries anymore. I think that's some of the biggest reasons why there is not more fighting then there is: the US economic aid. If we tell them we aren't propping them up anymore, they'll destroy each other and our own interests just blow up (literally).
  17. NJ-Philly - what a series. Pick 'em. I like Philly just a little better this year then NJ but never underestimate NJ, they just find a way to win. Philly in 7. NYI-TPA - Islanders had TB's # all year. But TPA has too much depth. TPA in 6. BOS-MTL - another really balanced series. MTL has a few injuries but Boston doesn't have much success in April. Raycroft is inexperienced. MTL played great in beginning of March but limped to postseason. BOS in 6. Toronto-Ottawa. This is going to be a brutal, brutal series. I think Toronto just has too much depth and adding some of the players at the trade deadline will help immensely. Toronto in 7, but pays a HUGE price. Det-Nashville - Nashville has played Detroit pretty well lately. But they won't here. Remember first round exit last year? Detroit does. Det. in 5. Calgary-Vancouver - great series. Calgary is playing well now, and after Bertuzzi, Vancouver played bad but rebounded in the last couple of weeks. CGY in an upset, 6 games. STL-SJC - San Jose is quietly a really really good team. SJC in 6. Dallas-Colorado. Dallas in 6. I look for Aebescher to be last years Turco... no experience, no advancement.
  18. When you constantly face 40-50 shots a game, you don't last the entire season. Luongo BAR-NONE is the league's MVP and Vezina winner - and I know because I watched 60 + Florida games and many many other games this year and he was by far the most dominate player on the ice for any given team this season. But he won't get it because he had a horrendous defense in front of him. If he had HALF of one, they would be a 4-5 seed in the east right now. If they cut that 36 shot a game average down to the high 20's, Luongo becomes that much more deadly IMO.
  19. Usually, the playoff gamesmanship begins with an exclamatory quote or a guarantee of victory. It usually doesn't include one team feeling it was forced out of its hotel by the other. The New York Islanders are steaming mad because they feel like the Tampa Bay Lightning got them bumped from the Tampa Marriott Waterside, the hotel that stands 200 yards from the players' entrance of the St. Pete Times Forum. When the Islanders called Monday to reserve rooms, they were informed the Lightning would be sharing the hotel with them. Furious, the Islanders pulled out of the hotel. "I think it's rude and inconsiderate," Islanders General Manager Mike Milbury said.
  20. Bouwmeester is a great prospect, and Dudley's mission in Fla. this summer is to get an experienced, rugged defenseman to show young Jay how to play the big-hittin' game with the best of 'em. They get that, they will be fine...
  21. Last year, the Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavs, Dallas Stars, and heck even the arena football team were ALL in first place, even if it was for only one day!
  22. you just needed to add marvin the martian...
  23. See what happens when we just generate a conversation around here?!? Heck yea he will finish with an era above 6.00, he pitches for Colorado. But he did have a nice outing the other night, and I'm not stupid enough to think that will make his season, but here's my point. All you people out there talks about how Estes sucks, and one outing doesn't define a season. Now go back and read the crap that's being posted about Monday's game. ONE OUTING DOESN'T DEFINE A SEASON. Remember this next time everyone wants to join the jumping off the bridge about one game.
  24. And car manufacturers, other retail stores, airlines, hell, name me an industry, don't do this? I hate to say it but welcome to globalization. You can't possibly escape this sort of practice in the "I want the cheapest price possible while still getting good quality" environment the first world countries have now immersed themselves in. If you think ANY multinational company doesn't do this in any shape or form, I have a piece of oceanfront property in Nebraska to sell you too. So the question becomes, how do you minimize the impact of this sort of thing?
