I, for one, ask things both ways. And let's face it. This is a message board. I can say, do, think, anything - but say it completely differently on here. Hey, maybe Apu is a closet Republican! You wouldn't know the difference if the information he chose to provide was consistently against Bush... that's what he posts on here and so we all KNOW Apu. No we don't, we know the screen name. I would imagine if we sat down in a bar (or other setting) he'd be just fine to talk to. To ban him, or to have asked that, is shameful. The point is it really doesn't matter what your political view is. He has just as much right to post his beliefs as do any of us who oppose his viewpoints. IT's CALLED DEBATE!

You power tripping bastard!

Yea - that is pretty prevelent here too... we'll have $10000+ in equity as soon as we close. Nice...

So if you would eliminate the electoral college how would you set up the voting process?

Oh waaaaaay to encourage me. I think we're getting a pretty good deal for houses in Dallas/Ft. Worth. It's cheap now but they have plans to build up the neighborhoods like CRAZY in the next 2-4 years. The schools have bonds in place already to build a new high school, and the school district is one of the best in the state of Texas from everything I've been able to find out on it. 5 years from now, we should have gained quite a bit of equity. Investments... hehe...

wow. This is not a good trend.

Thanks, guys! Well, had the talk, the BIG boss has the paperwork... so we'll see how that turns out. And I think we're going to go ahead and put our $$ down on a lot today, so wish us luck on the whole wonderful mortgage process. Should be quite a learning experience.

Yea, I said that wrong... but you knew what I meant.

You could never say anything else as profound as that!

That's about the only thing that he has a chance on getting free on, and in a world tribunal, it won't help.

Most of what the upper levels of the tax brackets experience is deferred taxes. They'll pay, just not now. And what happens is, we defer those taxes and then decrease the amounts they are taxed in the future when it becomes income. Which is why the future doesn't look so bright on spending 15 years down the road. Aren't CPA's Certified Pains in the Asses?

It's popular, but most mainstream America don't listen or watch those - it's the big three networks, newpapers, and CNN that are most of the news today - at least the majority of Americans think so. And therefore, they get that BUSH SUCKS slant most of the time.
-
But the mainstream media sure as hell likes to make it a huge ass story every time some Dem wants to talk about BUSH not doing enough against terrorism before 9/11. That's my point. They are all guilty... but the media likes to tell us all the crap that Bush has done wrong, and by NOT bringing up past failures, the psyche of the people will slowly be turned into it's all Bush's fault. And I think that's unfair. But that's our media today.

Who were they? Weren't they just a couple of no name washed up pukes? -
Yea, and if Kerry is elected, we will have 3.5 years of how everything was Bush's fault, and the media will push and push and push this thought so as to keep their boy in the White House for 8 full years. But in today's scenario, everything that happened in GWB's White House started the DAY HE TOOK OFFICE. Hypcritical?

What you're saying here is much better then "anyone but Bush". And I appreciate that. And you have a GREAT point about McCain. Re: the court appointments. That's a debate for another time, and I sometimes sort of float with the wind on that deal. Some days, I strongly feel like we should be in search of strict constitutionalists. Other days, depending on the issue, I wish we had some people in there that would eusurp and strike down some of the idoicy that happens in law-making. But that's not what the court nominees are supposed to do. And often times, I feel like that's indeed what more "leftists" on the courts do. But I will be the first to admit that I don't know enough details on each circuit level to argue the point much. This is good stuff, and I really appreciate you taking the time to express and articulate your viewpoints in greater detail.

me too. And I won't spoil my final picks until it happens.

cw, I certainly don't think you hate the man "Bush", but you dislike his policies, etc. And while I've read your idealogy over the past couple of months on here, (and yes, I will read over Kerry's web page now that he's the Dem. candidate), I want an answer as to why we should vote for John F. Kerry, not because he's the guy against Bush. I gotta be honest (hehe don't you love that cliche!!). I don't like either of them. I don't like the "my way or the highway" attitude by our current administration, and I don't like the "I'll stick my @#%% in the wind and see what the polls say" characteristics of the last Democratic administration and it also seems to be what Kerry goes for. There is no "middle of the road" candidate this time around, it seems like we're going way left or way right. And most of America is in the middle. Neither of these guys represents the "average" American. This is why there is so much polarization in politics, no one really represents us common people anymore. That's why I ask the question. I want to see why you folks leaning toward Kerry to tell me why he's the candidate for you and what you think he can do for our country. "Anybody but Bush" sort of pisses me off because to me, it implies that you really don't believe in Kerry, you just don't want Bush that bad. And I want reasons why Kerry deserves to lead this country besides the fact he's a Democrat.

That, IMO, is what makes hockey and baseball two of the best sports out there. If you are not good enough, you get put back into the developmental system and get to upgrade your skills. Football and basketball, there's no professional development leagues (no real ones anyway)... the good players go straight to the NBA or NFL and rot on the bench for 5 years while they grow up. In the minors of hockey and baseball, you learn, grow, and appreciate more when you get to the big leagues because they've developed as a person and as a player more with professional scouts and instructors along the way.
-
That's what separates the pretenders from the real teams. The thing is, college basketball is almost all "pretend" compared to years past.

I'm not calling John Kerry himself "yella" - the guy fought for our country and to that we all owe a debt of gratitude, but I am calling his backtrack from his vote "yella". No where in that bill did it say we had to have UN Approval. But they all want to claim that they "didn't know" what would happen with that vote, and that's running away from a vote in IMO. I think that Bush truely beleived what he said in the State of the Union and other speeches, I don't disagree that it turned out to be BS. As to taking the "go to war" vote to the UN for an up or down vote, the UN never had the balls to enforce the UN resolutions against Iraq in the first place. And really, it was two countries that had problems with our stance, France and to a lesser extent, Russia, because they were owed billion$ by Iraq, and knowing that siding with the US, they weren't going to even have a chance of getting paid that money and furthermore another export market to France and Russia would be cut off if the US took down Saddam's regime certainly didn't help that stance. The WMD's claim was BS. They've even pretty much said that now, and if that's GWB's undoing, so be it. America will decide that. But it's still "yella" in my book to be out there and agree with the President and then now that Kerry has the spotlight he runs like there is no tomorrow from a stance he took a year ago, but hell, they all do that. I guess that's why I don't even want to vote, and I thought I would never say that.
-
I absolutely crack up when the folks who voted for the Iraq bill says ... (paraphrasing) "but I didn't KNOW that Bush would ACTUALLY go to WAR?!?" and then now say that they wouldn't have voted the authorization for use of force had they known he actually would do it. What a crock. That's one of the bigger reasons why I wouldn't vote for Kerry. That's just yella in my opinion, he can't even own up to his own vote(s).

Wow, that game flew. Two hours and one minute. I knew it was short but did not realize it was going that fast!!

Rangers win 4-3, game over. Just as an FYI, they mostly played the kids today. Harris, Crede, Valentin, Olivo were the only regulars that I heard through the lineup... but the box score may indicate otherwise as I was not glued to the radio the whole game.
