Was it a gay bashing asteroid? Sorry, I couldn't resist.

You're very good at taking things out of context. I only raise that the majority doesn't beleive that same sex marriages are proper - and I only say that there would be a whole lot more same sex marriages if it were "right". I'm not basing my entire argument on that, I'm only using that as a point to say that if it were "ok" or morally "right", it would be much more prevelent and wouldn't be the hot topic that it is. Also, just as a point, take a poll, out of a newspaper, and depending on what region in the country you are polling, the results change drastically. Take all 265,000,000 people in this country, I guarantee you that if you have a straight "yes/no gay marriage is wrong" question, a greater majority will say it's not proper. Leave that crap out about how it will effect their lives out of the question that you used, and the results become drastically different. OF COURSE, it won't effect my life one iota. I just think it's wrong based on my belief system. And to each his own... I may think people are wrong on a lot of things, I think my wife's wrong on a lot of things, but I certainly don't think any less of her. And I don't gay people either. I've had a couple of people that I would consider friends that were gay, and they knew that I thought they were wrong but our friendship was based on more then just that, I can overlook that and still think they're wrong. So do you still think I'm a big intolerant Christian jerk?

Apu, I don't have time to read this right now but thanks for putting this out there - I'll read it later and continue with this later... Ghost, I'm not trying to say that I have this "air of invincibility", I certainly have a lot of wrong crap that I do and I'm not above any of that. I just strongly believe that gay marriage is wrong, and my principles and guide is based on christian ideals and themes. I also know from studying and being in foreign lands (mainly islamic countries) that gay marriage is "wrong" in that culture as well. So from those two religions, that's about 60-65% of the world's population??? (how many hindu's and buddists are there)? But I certainly won't resort to hating gays even though I think their lifestyle is innapproriate. Does that sound better then the way you took what I originally said?

Just to clarify the point, and that was my whole idea with the "note:" part of my original post, I'm certinaly not intolerant. It's fine if that is what you choose to do with your life, but it's wrong in my ideals, and I'll tell you that. But I certainly won't bash you and tell you you're going to hell and all that crap, because everyone has a chance to change their lifestyle - and yea, we can get into the whole "I'm trying to make you conform" stuff, but what is a guiding principle to say that gay marriage is "right" or ok? Just curious.

People like you are what's wrong with our country. I'm a f'ed up Christian jerk, whose (general) principles are based (generally) on what this country was founded on. So USA today has a poll that says 48% oppose gay marriage and 50% says it will have "EITHER NO EFFECT or it's ok". It's called apathy. People don't give a s*** so that makes it ok? That's a more f'ed up view of the world that no one cares IMO. Look, I don't care if people do it, but it's wrong. My whole point is it's wrong, but the gay marriages that are appearing all over the place in the last six months is nothing more then a ploy to make our government make a decision based on a minority view. So, people start saying "Constitutional Amendment", which I also think is stupid. It's not a government issue, but the MINORITY is forcing it to become one. If it's so "right", then why don't we have a majority of same sex couples? They sure as hell aren't a majority. And actually, yes, I'd like to see where most religions say "it's ok" for same sex marriages. I digress, and I certainly will not buy that silence says "it's ok". That's a lie.
-
I can choose to cheat on my wife, and that is a wrong choice. Period. See: 10 commandments, thou shalt not commit adultry. People can have same sex marriages, and it's wrong, period. See: marriage is between man and woman references in Bible. But I will not hate someone for doing something wrong. That was my point. All I am saying is they are wrong for what they are doing, but I don't hate for their wrong choices.

You would call his opposition on gay marriages a "narrow view"? I can tell you that a whole lot more people oppose it then support it, and I don't buy that as a "narrow view". It's pretty black and white to most folks that homosexuality is WRONG. If people practice it, it's WRONG. They're WRONG. Every modern "religion" views it as WRONG. So why is that such a "narrow view"? Notice a trend of WRONG? Now to propose a constitutional amendment banning homosexual marriage is another issue, one that should be left to the private lives of folks. Just like other things that humans do as wrong, I don't see our political leaders going out and proposing a constitutional ban, like adultry. It's wrong too. So everything that's morally wrong should have a constitutional amendment? In this sense I agree with you that putting it in the constitution goes too far. The problem is that these folks want to flaunt their views and force the country to make a decision on the legalities. Therein lies the problem. (Note: I don't hate, dislike, or anything else people who practice homosexuality, but I would say that they're in the wrong for it anyway. It's their lifestyle choice. So please don't take this post that I hate folks like that).

I have never understood why the government has to be our provider for everything. Please explain why the government has to be our proiders for health care, education, etc. etc. etc. I understand that there's corruption and such in private business, but why do we have to have everything spoon fed to us? Some government programs are inevitable, sure. But retirement, health care, etc is a God-given right? Bull ****. Don't get me wrong, I wish that people could have all these things but for (most) Dems out there, they expect the government to take care of us. And they sit on their asses waiting for handouts, and when they don't come, they blame Republican whackoffs who pocket all the money from their business interests. So back to the original point, why should the GOVERNMENT give all this money to third world countries, give out money to all the social programs, etc.?

That would be pretty cool... Keep us informed!

Boy, I must be late, only 12 pages so far.. So let me get this straight. If anyone thinks the COMMON EVERY DAY Palestinian, who crosses the borders into Isreal to work and feed their family, and go home at night and puts food on the table and just exists and turns around and pays taxes to ISREAL on his measily wages, supporting THOSE people to have a true "home" makes us racist? Pass me the koolaid, please.

Bill Green = the coach that brought all those state titles (before Moe), and I could have brought all those state titles as a coach in the 8th grade. What a jerkoff. Anyway, Moe's struggling, there's a pretty good part of town that wants him fired from what I read. And his quote was "If that's what Marion wants, that's fine, if they don't think a state-title and a runner up is good enough, I'll go somewhere where it is." Good for Moe.

The latest is that BC police are investigating for possible charges against Todd Bertuzzi. This will most likely be along the same lines of the McSorely/Brashear incident a few years back. In that deal if I remember right McSorely got 18 months (suspended) jail time and was out for a year. Bertuzzi should at least be gone through this season (including playoffs).

Ya Actually if you go to www.tsn.ca - they are about the fastest ones to break the trade news.
-
He's in surgery right now for a chipped vertebre. How crappy is that? Fights etc are one thing, but this is totally beyond the game.
-
I've got a connection up in Toronto - we talked about some things this morning other then the trades, and as a part of the conversation turned to the deadline he told me about Francis, and then he told me that not as concrete are a couple of other pretty big moves. The only one I can share is Francis because it hit the wire.

It's true, seriously. Someone called me about it this morning and will hit the wires within an hour.
-
It's the truth... I've got inside sources, hehe.
-
That was by far the cheapest shot I have seen in 25 years. And I've seen some cheap shots. Bertuzzi should be suspended until next season, period, end of story.
-
Wow, Ron Francis to Toronto for a 4th round draft pick...
-
I'm there, dude.

one more thing... for gaming, it's 95% about the video card, 3% the bus speed, and 2% the memory. Remember that when selecting your options for your brand spanky new dell...
-
Dell. All the way. I can tell you horror stories with all of them, but by in large Dell stands behind their products better then the other 2 you mentioned. I've built, torn apart, rebuilt, bought, scrapped, and otherwise decimated pc's - and generally Dells' components etc are pretty good. If you really watch Dell they can come out with some sweet deals...

that's actually pretty funny because that's where I have tix. in the American Airlines Centre. Truthfully, for hockey, I would rather sit up top so I can see everything develop. We're right straight up behind the goal on the end. Perfect IMO.
