I4E, All joking aside here for a second. My thought was - and is - I can't understand why you are so set in what you believe. At first, I thought you were some college age student who found some things to latch on to. But that's not the case. And you've repeatedly claimed (not in this thread, but the other one) that you're law school educated, etc. I'm not discounting that at all, but as I stated in the other thread, for someone who prides themselves on their knowledge, I simply can't understand why you can't accept that there *could be* another angle to all of the things you say. I'm a firm believer to let people state their opinions and don't attack them personally. I've resisted the temptation to flame you (you can and surely would hang on your own words) - but I've decided to not waste all my time (although it sure would be fun, but then again, you wouldn't take it in stride and you'd choose to just insult me). Bottom line is this. You've taught me a lot in that there is a ton of hatred still in this world - I like to believe that pure hate is dwindling, but alas, here it is in all its blaze of glory. I for one am really sad for you because you just seethe with anger. It makes me even sadder to realize that there are just as many folks that are as passionate as you on the other side of this issue (and they're the ones blowing themselves up killing innocents which is just as if not more disgusting). I really don't disagree with you in that Isreal's (generally) current lands are declared by God to be their own - it's written out pretty plainly in the times of Abraham that the land that Isreal currently resides in is to be THE land of the Isrealites. I won't get into the squabble about parcels of land... there's too much we don't definitively know. I just wish you (and people like you on BOTH sides of the issue) weren't filled with so much hate. But to each his own - and why we live in such a combustible world.

I4E, you said you graduated in 1980. Is it fair to say you're around 40? You don't have to give me exacts, but I'm trying to understand something.
-
WOOHOO, I've graduated from a douchebag to an assbag!

ok, so I'm not Ghandi, I'm the little green Gecco on the Gieco commercials. And that dude is a bad-ass. Don't mess with him, he gets his own parking spot.

Now, now... I have rarely even stated my opinion. If you go back and re-read what I've said, you'll find that most of the time I'm simply interjecting things to maybe stop the violence that seems to spew from your posts. You often react with such rage and emotion to even think that there might be another side to your story. So, again, I ask you to re-read what I've said and stop labeling me in a group that's RACIST and UNEDUCATED and UNKNOWING and a KNOW-IT-ALL bastard. I feel like Ghandi.

Marvin Gaye = Barry Manilow? Ahh, I hear the crooning now.
-
So, IE4, where does it stop? Why can't you be the better of the two groups and say that you will rise above all this? That's the whole entire point that people have been trying to make you see. It's radicalists like you that says you will do anything to eliminate the other side - and radicalists on their side that keep saying the same thing. C'mon, be the better side of this. And as for branding me a racist, that's pretty cool. I mean, I can do that on a message board without knowing a person too. RACIST!

Ah ha. Gotcha. I look forward to that article then.

Here's the snyopsis. Last August, Chi-town was buzzing because both teams were playing well. Since then, the Sox have done nothing but hire Ozzie and sign Zero - and oh, by the way, marketed Mags to Boston which ended up being a huge SNAFU. The Cubs keep signing and trying to make themselves better. So, therefore, the Cubs are the toast of the town, until the Sox deem it necessary to do something to upgrade. Hmmmm, remarkably like what most people here have been saying.

or a blind squirrel can find a nut (in this case, a BIG nut) once in a while.
-
Not to sugar-coat this or anything, but there's a hell of a lot of posters on this board that have been saying the exact same thing. Not being from Chi-town, I can't say that I'm familiar with the guy that wrote the article. But purely from an out-of-towner, this rings more true then not.

Well, well, well. 7-0 the Slackhawks beat the BlowJackets? I mean it was Columbus and all but 7-0? WOW!
-
LMAO - Barry Manilow? Wow. Trailers are cool nowadays, just as long as there's no tornados around. It is interesting to read off-topic things like this because it so does illustrate how close-minded and polarized folks are on things. We try to preach tolerance and peace and all that BS but until the end times come (no matter what religion you are just about there is a prophesy of TRUE peace) we will never get there. Humans as a whole are just too ignorant. Give them technology and they become even more ignorant.

Wow, ss2k, doesn't this remind you of a certain message board about 5 years ago? I feel like I just went back in time with Trolly. Just so you know, IE4, if you go back and read s-l-o-w-l-y what ss2k is trying to say, nothing's racist about it. By pure definition, you're either a practicing, faithful Jew or you are not accepted as a part of the faith. That's about it on that. I know it might be hard to grasp when that fuse of yours goes off, but anyone that says anything against your stance is just trying to get you to see that there are indeed two sides to the world, not just one. Perhaps we need to get you an anti-rage keyboard or something so that you read a little slower. So, let's all just get along, mmmmmmmmmmmk?

Amen, brother, er something like that.

oh lord. a macromaniac on the loose!

but he'll sure drink a few shots!

Where do you come up with this crap?

Have ya noticed that this is coach #3 on the Cowboys staff that has interviews, accepted in principle another job and at the last minute decides to stay in Dallas? They've got something big planned... like getting a good running back and a decent QB? If they do that, they'll be pretty dangerous next year because they have a decent o-line, great defense, great receivers, etc. They're just missing a running back and QB (not that important, hehe).

Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock, ... ... ... ... Nice to know that some things never change as time goes on...
-
Now you're preachin'. To say you can make the case for GW better then GW can... that's pretty good!! I may disagree with some things you have to say but you are right about one thing, you at least do document yourself well. And for that I applaud...
-
I guess I should add I know that we were pretty polarized over Vietnam, but to me today this is more of a fundamental issue then just war.

I can debate all day about GWB's vernacular about a lot of stuff. He has used words that walk right up to the "lie" stage but taken with everything, he's never "lied". ALL, REPEAT, ALL politicians walk this line every day of their lives. I honestly believe that 100% of these people do what they believe to be right and to the "Good of their country". I think Tom Daschle, whom I absolutely cannot stand (but that's more of a different issue then what I'm trying to say here) truly believes every word he says, including when he said that the "tax cuts are driving up the cost of health care". It's BS, most folks know it, but they will use these analogies to drive their message home that they beleive the tax cuts are "wrong for America". The point is Tom Daschle and George W. Bush are the same mold: above all else, they are politicians. Politicians are basically folks that have no power outside of their political lives and will say whatever the highest paying contributer to their campaign wants them to say. PERIOD. I think that GWB has done some pretty f*ed up stuff over the last three years. But I also think that they all have. It comes down to who do you think will best balance out to represent America? Unfortunately, today's day and age, we are spilt right down the middle. And I can think of no other time the sides are polarized as much as they are now in American history except the years precedeing the civil war.
