  1. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Feb 4, 2010 -> 03:46 PM) Republican Voters prefer a deficit to a balanced budget if it means bigger tax cuts. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_con...f_taxes_are_cut I like how the most important point ALWAYS gets missed (on purpose, I might add) whenever this crap comes up.
  2. I think people are starting to figure out that we're screwed - this whole "recovery" is a gigantic, government caused bubble. Batten down the hatches.
  3. QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 09:56 PM) I'm still trying regardless. Yea, butt (HAR HAR HAR) you've got some lending advantages that many others don't have.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 06:22 PM) As much as I hate Bayh, I don't see a chance of him losing. Agreed. He's a little b****, who is well known. You know, that "fiscal conservative" that licks Harry's sack every time he needs it.
  5. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 08:26 AM) Just deliver my power as efficiently, cheaply and cleanly as possible. That's all. Unless it disrupts UTOPIA. Then, screw off, while I live in UTOPIA.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 08:21 PM) Thankfully, doing so will protect me from changes to the atmosphere... Everywhere has so much better stuff - so much of what you want... you should go. At least you can have peace of mind knowing that the country you live in isn't killing the rest of the world by its pollution. And messed up health care system. And lack of redistribution of wealth. And education standards. My, this country sucks. We suck! SUCK!
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 07:33 PM) Again, that's your side. Ours says the answers are already out there, and working in other countries. Again, everywhere else is so much better then the US. Go live there.
  8. I have an idea. Let's fund billions into SEIU, NEA, etc. Then, let's propose that we cut everything else so Republicans look like assholes! YEA!
  9. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 06:55 PM) Where do I send my check? Got a paypal acct.. Wouldn't want to send it through the mail and use fossil fuels. Trust me, you already are paying for it.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 04:29 PM) Frankly, it's your side that thinks we need more study about whether or not its happening. My side thinks we should have done something to start fixing it 12 years ago Yea, but we need more money spent to figure it all out and what and how we're going to fix it.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 03:18 PM) College costs are about the only thing going up faster than healthcare costs in this country. Let's get some more funding for global warming studies.
  12. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 09:55 AM) When every commercial about your man mitch is gonna allege cooking the books, with testimonials from school adminstrators and city and town governments to do it, I don't think he'd even make it to Iowa, frankly. Exactly. He won't see the light past Indianapolis, frankly.
  13. QUOTE (Soxy @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 09:25 AM) Unrelated: but those missionaries that tried to take those Haitian children make me really upset. Throw the book at them. That is a really irritating situation, for sure. It's a bad thing when people do this in the name of religion.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 09:57 PM) I am going to throw this name out there, and see what happens. Mitch Daniels has to be a favorite. He doesn't have any of the skeletons that all of the people who are commonly named have. Yea, but you talk about a guy who has done some hazy s*** to make himself look good... just ask your school districts.
  15. QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 09:00 PM) First off, there are not too many large GOP cities. He'd probably carry many of the Bush states. And the Palin thing was just a toss in. The other factor they mentioned in the article was the weak GOP field. And Rick Perry is part of that WEAK GOP field.
  16. Rick Perry = Mitch Daniels. For those in Indiana, you'll understand. For the others, I'll fill in the blanks for you. They are both blowhard assholes. Thanks for playing, Tex.
  17. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 02:01 PM) Wouldn't have anything to do with minimum wages, prevailing wages, 40 hour work weeks, 5 day work weeks or the idea that having a seat at the table when it comes to the direction of your employment matters. It's clearly all votes. For political people, it is. Nothing else matters.
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 01:26 PM) But in this case, he's right - the full quote is not anything like the out-of-context version. I agree with that, but... Neither are most of the quotes from Republicans posted around here that are almost always out of context, either.
  19. That's great, BS. I'm glad you and some others were able to get some funds.
  20. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 12:39 PM) ive been shocked by peoples negative attitudes towards unions as a whole over the past 10 years. i dont get it, at all. That's because Democrats think unions are the best thing eva. Why? They're a huge voting block. Certainly not for any other reason.
  21. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 12:45 PM) Helps if you have the full quote: "That education system was a disaster, and it took Hurricane Katrina to wake up the community to say that 'we have to do better.' And the progress that they've made in four years since the hurricane is unbelievable. They have a chance to create a phenomenal school district. Long way to go, but that -- that city was not serious about its education." He said Katrina allowed them to "reboot" the education system. LMAO at you talking about context. Oh the irony.
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 07:54 PM) Come try my cinnamon rolls at the vegan bake sale for Haiti relief. Tomorrow from 12-5 at Greenheart in Wicker Park (1911 W Division). How'd your sale go?
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 10:22 AM) Because over a period of 45 years, laws change? Everything's always justifyable in the Democrat world, no matter what the cost.
  24. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 09:11 PM) You guys are amazing. First, I was pointing out that a statement was false - and it was. Second, this is STILL false. Some budget person said their guess was 8 to 9% UE, with the potential for up to 11%. So let's all be honest, and see what REALLY happened here - ONE budget person projected a range that was too low, when they were GUESSING. if you can't see how that's different than claiming that Obama said UE wouldn't go above 8%, then really, there's no point in discussing it. I should have just left it alone and let the poster go on posting falsehoods as facts. Yep. The messiah (and/or his administration) is always right. Message received loud and clear.
