  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:17 PM) Last I heard he was around 85 mph with his fastball. Freddy and Mark are jealous.
  2. In answer to the title of the thread... "It stinks! It stinks!"

    Premiere Time!

QUOTE(Soxy @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:15 PM) I think the whole dvd thing has totally changed the way I watch tv. For the last two years I either had no tv or only the big 4 (cbs, abc, nbc, fox), I got hooked on Veronica Mars last summer when ABC ran a few episodes to get more viewers. I liked the show, but couldn't watch last season because I didn't get that station. It's going to be weird to have a full week inbetween episodes. For me, I wasn't even able to catch the first OR second season's of Entourage, as I didn't really know about it. I actually watched it backwards, starting with the third season (which I didn't actually see 'live' -- I had to use the On Demand), and going backwards. I still haven't seen the first season, which sort of sucks, but...

Entourage. Oh, yeah, that doesn't come back till next summer. Ugh... Really lookin' forward to the new Office episodes -- I've only caught a handful of episodes in the past, but that's a really funny show. Mainly, though, it's the new sports. Bears, but moreso Blackhawks (Havlat! ), and getting ahead of myself, Marquette basketball. Time to become an annoying fanboy and start pimping the back-court of Dominick James, Jerel McNeal, and Wes Matthews...
  5. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 02:11 AM) As if Sweet Home Chicago is any better. That was a classless move, and I love AJ. How so? The same people asking for the ball are the same people who have been telling him that he sucks all game, and giving him the 'f*** you's'.
  6. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 02:07 AM) Yeah, Haeger and Logan really warm my heart in extra innings at Fenway. Logan's arguably our best short-outing reliever in our pen right now.
  7. Timlin only has 24 Ks in over 55 appearances?!?!?!?! Light 'em up, boys.
  8. Bobby clearly didn't have 'it' tonight. We're lucky to get out of that inning going to extras. We're in a pretty good position with our bullpen, too. McCarthy and Haeger can both throw some innings. I'd bring in Logan, actually, as our next 'high leverage' reliever, ie if we get a chance to save the game.
  9. FWIW, the NESN gun has Bobby at 94-97.
  10. QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 01:46 AM) It is a shame Ryan Sweeney's MLB debut is as a pinch runner. It should have been as the LF in tonights game. Today wasn't his debut. He played the ninth in CF at KC.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 01:40 AM) Well, if Wily Mo does hit a homer, it might go 600 feet. Truth be told, I don't like the matchup. I'd rather have a guy with good breaking stuff go against Wily Mo. Got him down 0-2.
  12. So the matchup is Mac vs. Nixon or Wily Mo vs. Thorton. Ozzie goes with the latter. I'd rather keep Mac in, he's got some great movement and has thrown less than 20 pitches (I think), but it's a tough call.
  13. Come on, Oz, we want to see our Sweeney!
  14. Yeah, at this point, I'm not going to complain about runs. I've realized that, if we are lucky enough to sneak into the playoffs, it's going to be really ugly. Lots of 8-6 wins, lots of homers. Get used to it... Embrace it.
  15. Damn, Joe, how many breaking balls do you have to see before you smoke one? That'll work!
  16. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 12:58 AM) I wonder what PK is thinking right now... 'I want to hit one over the monster, too.'
  17. Get that man out of the lineup. Opposite field.
  18. Ehh, I don't really have a problem with what they did. Try and get Manny to chase a bad pitch or two, and then go after him. Unfortunately, Manny's eye is as good as Frank's, so if that pitch is even a half an inch off the outside corner, he's not swinging.
  19. Don't give up a run, Jon, or else you're getting hung with the 'L' tonight.
  20. Yeesh -- maybe Pods should play with his back touching the monster... He can't play any deeper than he's playing right now.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 12:19 AM) It's getting worse as this game goes on. We're not very funny to watch right now. Oh, we're funny to watch. I'm sure other teams' fans love watching their pitchers throw to the outside corners all day and have our hitters still ground out on a weakly hit, pulled grounder. BTW, I didn't know Boston re-acquired Pedro for tonight's game...
