September 5, 200619 yr Any word on how he has preformed in Charlotte? Has he been able to hit 90 yet, or go multiple innings with any success? A solid month from a guy like Dustin could be HUGE for the playoff run with guys like Cotts, Riske, and Brandon looking a little rough right now.

The only thing that would be huge is the moon shots that he gives up in clutch situations.
September 5, 200619 yr Shingo's in line at Immigration in San Francisco. Seems to be having trouble getting through customs with his hair gel. Nice to see the old gang back together again.
September 5, 200619 yr QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 03:17 PM) Last I heard he was around 85 mph with his fastball. I am surprised we are not starting him. Sounds like a candidate for the rotation with that kind of gas.
September 5, 200619 yr I'm setting the over/under date that he goes back on the DL at Sept. 14th. Who wants a piece?
September 5, 200619 yr LMAO at the cynicism across the board here (no pun intended). Ahhh, some classic one-liners. This is why I love Sox fans--you can't say we're a deluded bunch!!!! And no doubt: the way this year is going, Hermy may make Arnie Munoz look like Rivera...
September 5, 200619 yr QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:17 PM) Last I heard he was around 85 mph with his fastball. Freddy and Mark are jealous.
September 5, 200619 yr Hermy needs to retire and become a really good pitching coach. I get the feeling he'd be great at it.
September 5, 200619 yr I'll atleast applaud him for his effort. Most put into his situation would have simply sat at home and collected his pay checks.

Of recent Sox players I would like to see as coaches, he and Sandy would top my list. And you know how this organization likes to bring players back to coach.

September 5, 200619 yr Good for Hermy! He's really worked his ass off to get back. Here's hoping it is worth it for him.

Here's hoping it is worth it for him. dustin hermanson, to this day, is the biggest unsung hero of the 2005 white sox....no he didnt do anything down the stretch and in the postseason, but people forget that this guy had 34 saves, and converted like 24 of his first 25...while shingo had 6....so dustin coulda ended up with 40 saves for us...not to mention not giving up a run in his first 24 innings or something....just saying as far as regular season heroes go from last year...dustins right up there
September 5, 200619 yr I'm just not sure what role he's here to play at this point seeing that we have a full bullpen.

A lot of pitchers would have been offended by it, but he just took it and did what he could for the team. Hermanson is pretty much awesome.

I'm REALLY glad that Kenny nabbed MacDougal and Riske and decided to take a chance on Thornton.

Good to see Hermie back. Now just get some outs.
September 5, 200619 yr Very, very thankful for what he did last year and I agree that he is one of the unsung hero's of the Championship team but that being said, he's toast.
September 5, 200619 yr Hopefully the White Sox are activating him out of respect for his effort to try to pitch. I hope to God they don't throw him out there in a situation when the game is on the line.
