  1. Alright, El Duque, one more good pitch. 1-2 count... HE GOT HIM! Nice, Orlando...
  2. Damn. Runners on first and second, two outs. Jones at the plate. Not the best of situations. And he falls behind, 1-0.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 04:54 PM) My mlb.com says I can't get the game. Do you not have your chicago address for your account? Uhh, I dunno -- I just clicked the little TV next to the Sox game and typed in my info, and got in.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) Are you watching the game or listening? Both. But the MLB.tv feed is about ten second behind the radio broadcast, so it's sort of odd.
  5. Damn. Uribe makes good contact twice, one has homerun distance but foul, the other hit right to the SS.
  6. He gets out of it. Going to the third -- no score.
  7. QUOTE(beck72 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) That about sums up how the sox have played as of late--it's a good team that's forgotten how to play great. Gosh, I hope that Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday series is filled with Sox fans, 35K+ for each of the games. I don't care how they've played in front of bigger crowds, you can't tell me that Freddy Garcia won't turn up his game in front of a sellout crowd. We'll be sending the pitchers who have pitched best for us lately in B-Mac (so scratch Garcia above) and Garland, along with a pitcher who ought to have a chip on his shoulder in Buehrle. But today is the key. El Duque vs. Santana. We shouldn't win that game. Yet, that's a game that rights the ship (if last night wasn't it). They win later today, and man... I don't know how this team can't be confident.
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 06:08 AM) After tonight, Joe Crede's 10 for 19 with a homer and 4 doubles since coming off the DL. He's trying to do what he can to save a spot for next season. I don't know if I want Crede back next year (scratch that -- I don't want Crede back next year), but I think this team is better with him at the hot corner, rather than Blum/Ozuna. I don't appreciate his defense enough... He goes to his left extremely well. Down the line, to his right, I don't think his range is that great, but he makes plays to his left that a shortstop is usually supposed to make.
  9. Keep in Jenks, keep in Jenks, keep in Jenks, keep in Jenks.
  10. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:43 AM) Really? Im a big fan too. We might be the only ones. Add me to that list.
  11. If the offense doesn't score this inning, they should start putting pitchers at the positions. I mean, come on, who would love to see Bobby Jenks play second base. Or, El Duque at short! I bet he's got killer range for a 40 year old (or 36, or whatever he is).
  12. If we're blessed/lucky enough to get there... There's my game one starter.
  13. It's to a point where his CS are hurting us more than the SBs are helping us. Eventually, just let Scott get on base and use his speed not in stealing bases, but in getting from first to third on a single, putting on a hit-and-run, or scoring on a gapper. I'm growing tired of all the outs made on the basepaths...
  14. A walk is fine, but Tadahito hasn't homered in a while.
  15. Tadahito singles. But we still haven't had an extra basehit.
  16. Infield single. But we still haven't had a hit on a ball out of the infield.
  17. He walks Crede, but still has the no-hitter going. And Scotty Pods hasn't homered this year.
  18. Baker has a perfect game going. Eight up, eight down.
  19. Garland is throwing harder tonight. He's hitting 93-94, and it even looks like he's throwing a little harder. Problem is, when he throws harder, he throws straighter, and doesn't get movement on his sinker/two seamer. Just something I'm gonna keep an eye on.
