Well, talk about a rough week. This sucks right now, and, I'm sure for almost everybody here, when the Sox lose, your day sucks. Sure, the Sox aren't everything, but they mean a lot to a lot of us. So, watching them go down like this isn't fun. We defend these guys everyday, to friends, co-workers, etc etc, and there isn't a whole lot you can defend during this skid. Anyways -- to the game. It seems to me, without looking at the game logs, that Garland has had sort of a good start, bad start, good start, bad start. He's pitching on an extra day's rest, which I don't like -- Garland has always been better on shorter rest, I guess he doesn't throw as hard, and he just lets the sinker 'do it's thing', just by my observation. But he's going to step up tomorrow. He's gonna win us a ballgame tomorrow, whether we score two runs or ten. He's got it in him -- he hasn't hit a high in IP yet this year, I'm pretty confident in saying that his arm is as fine now as it was back in June or July. Go get 'em, Sox. You guys have fought too damn long to let it slip by now. Rather then a 'Rip 'em' or some other phrase, I'll just post the lyrics to the song which I've (oddly enough) heard twice tonight. Go Sox!

There might be a tie atop the AL West after tonight. Oakland beat Boston, Anahiem is losing to Detroit, 8-4, in the sixth. And, with Boston's lost and New York's win, the AL East race is down to a game and a half. To put things in perspective, of just how much better the White Sox were then everyone else -- or, at least until now ( :banghead ) -- the Sox still hold the biggest lead of any first place team in the AL, divisional or Wildcard. I don't know who to root for anymore, 'cause there's just so many teams competing. EDIT: I jinxed it. Anahiem puts up two in the top of the sixth, and still have two on with two outs.

If we lose 6-5, there's going to be a hole in my bedroom wall. -

Damn this f***ing team. Damn them. Pierznyski thrown out at home, Podsednik caught stealing, Everett rounding third too much, THIS IS STUPID f***ING s*** THAT SHOULDN'T HAPPEN. My goodness. My brother texts me in the middle of school, saying that we got playoff tickets. Man, was I happy. Then I turn into the Sox game, and they're up 2-0. And now this. This is unbelievable. This is un-f***ing-believable... -

Tomorrow is the biggest f***ing game of the year. We lose tomorrow... and man... It's getting harder and harder to stick behind this team. Buehrle needs to win tomorrow. The Sox need to win tomorrow. The Sox need to win tomorrow... I'm so pissed right now, as you can probably tell. -
The title of the thread should be towards Freddy Garcia. We stake the guy nine f***ing runs, against the KANSAS CITY f***ING ROYALS, AND YOU CAN'T KEEP 'EM UNDER SIX?!?!!?!?!?!!?!?! Gosh damnit, I'm embarassed. I'm embarassed to be a Sox fan right now. This is f***ing horrible.

Get Jenks or Baj up, he has NOTHING...

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 02:38 AM) Thats a big spot and I'd much rather have VIz (who cleaned up COtts mess last week agianst Sweeney) facing Sweeney than COtts. Then don't bring in Cotts in the first place. He's now put our bullpen in a real s***ty position. We have Hermanson left, a tired Jenks, and Bajenaru.

Tying run at the plate in Cleveland, 6-4. Come on, Dannnnnnn!
-
Oh my friggin' goodness, Wickman getting three inches off the outside corner for a called third on Chavez. I'll say it again -- the umpiring in that series has been brutal.
-
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 02:16 AM) LOL. You're calling the AL Manager of the year a terrible manager. The statement is funny in and of itself. I need say nothing. Didn't Dusty Baker win a MotY?
-
f***in' mercy. Zito throws a curveball, belt-high, called a ball. Next pitch, basehit. Unf***ingbelievable. The umping in that series has been atrocious...

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 01:36 AM) How's it been over at BTF lately with Sox fans? I haven't read many gamethreads lately, as I'd rather not think about the game if we lose. No on has jumped off the ledge? Nah, there's less highs and lows over there. People were getting worried, but also realized that a 15 game deficit is extremely hard to come back from, even if it reached six games. It's a small group of Sox fans, but I like 'em. Vince, Cheat, me, and a bunch others. I've met Vince (he's the blogger at Exile in Wrigleyville), he's a really cool guy. It's been fun, to say the least. Glad Cheat directed me to the site.

QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 01:33 AM) I know this is kind of late, but You really cracked me up with that one! I can't take credit for that one. Credit the White Sox fans over at BTF...

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 01:32 AM) Sizemore also has about 135 more plate appearances than Podsednik....doesn't account for all of those, but accounts for some of the difference. Okay... He still has a slugging percentage that's what, .130 points higher then Podsednik's, and an OBP that's just .008 points less. Plus Sizemore is the better defender.
-
TIE GAME IN CLEVELAND!! SWISHHHHHH!
-
Podsednik -- 11 Win Shares. Sizemore -- 21 Win Shares. Oakland brings the tying run to the plate. Come on, Swisshhhhhh!

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 01:25 AM) How much is that affected by the batting average with RISP of our #3 and #4 hitters? Regardless of the runs scored, I'd much rather trade 10 points of OBP for 130 points of SLG%...
-
As usual, Zito not getting the call on the curveball that drops in from the top part of the zone. I don't think the one he threw Peralta was a strike, but it was close.
-
Your eBay!
-
Jim, I see you lurking. I remember JP Howell having a Barry Zito like curveball. Big, lollypop, slow, not a sharp break, but a big, round hook. Do you/anyone else remember this also? 'Cause I really wanted the Sox to take Gio and Howell, and it turned out that JP didn't fall to us.
-
TADAHITO!!!!!
-
JP Howell, not a first rounder. Supplamental (sp?) pick, I'm 99% sure.
-
Hawk Harrelson, embarassing Sox fans everywhere. Yeah, JP Howell has the most movement of any pitcher in the AL. Give me a f***ing break, Hawk. He isn't good this year. He might be good in the future, but right now, he sucks.
