White Sox vs. Cubs, 6/24/07 (L)
f***in' A. They got the call right -- Uribe obstructed Pagan -- but why the f*** did they let the whole thing play out?

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 08:43 PM) I never saw the play around 2nd, so I can't comment on that. That's where it's gotta be -- immediately after whoever it was was rounding second, as the ball was coming in from Mackowiak. And Hawk, for once, is dead on -- if it's obstruction, the play should be called RIGHT THEN AND THERE.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 08:42 PM) Exactly, Uribe never hit anyone. And you can't get called for interference in a run down. That's the point. That's why I don't know what the f*** fathom is talking about. Where is he saying Uribe touched somebody? It wasn't after he tagged out the guy at second and started the first rundown -- he got out of the way and pointed towards homeplate.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 08:39 PM) They ruled fielder interference. I know Pagan is definitely safe because of it. Uribe never got in the way. I don't know where that was called. It's bulls***.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 07:29 PM) Why didn't Soriano throw it to 2nd? We'll take it though. A good throw and he's out. Soriano bounced it in there.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 07:00 PM) I would be quite pissed with that return. Especially if the second player was Moss. Who do you like more, Moss or Ellsbury? I'm not that interested in Bowden -- he looks like a good but not great prospect. He's kept the ball in the yard this year, but his GB/FB ratio is under one. His strikeout rate has fallen from last season although his K/BB is still around 3-to-1. I'm not including Buchholz because I imagine he's untouchable.

Good to see Podsednik hitting -- hopefully there's team out there that would buy into a three week streak of hitting .320 and give the Sox a live A-ball arm.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 06:32 PM) You know that package is probably twice as much as what we'll get. Now you're getting everyone's hopes up. I think Lowrie, Moss/Ellsbury and Wily Mo would be a good return.

This is probably the best action shot of Toews, although I don't know if it qualifies as full size.

White Sox Loser
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 03:16 AM) I've been watching for 15 years and this is the first time I've ever been truly embarassed. 15 years? Aren't you pretty much my age, in college? Over the past couple years this doesn't stand. The Sox have had opportunities to take top ten talents yet have decided to pass due to monetary issues. That's nobody's fault but their own. I do agree, however, that the streak itself is pretty impresive.

White Sox Loser
Personally speaking, this has been the lowest point in the season. When Theriot put the squeeze down, seeing the Cubs celebrate in their dugout... wow. How does Greg Walker still have a job? How can you suck so long at your job yet still be employed? I hope I have that type of job security when I'm older...

QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Jun 23, 2007 -> 08:22 PM) when does Blackhawk Training Camp open so I can watch Patrick Kane I hope the jersey in your sig is just the practice jersey. I fear Bettman is going to (again) f*** things up with these new form-fitting jerseys...

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 23, 2007 -> 07:59 PM) Dye and Haeger for Billingsley and Ethier. With Dye's declining knees and bat and defense and everything, I think I'd take Ethier straight up for Dye at this point.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 23, 2007 -> 05:50 PM) BTW, Andy Gonzalez should still be in Birmingham. Why does everybody hate Gonzalez? Did he piss in FutureSox's cheerios? First Jason, now you -- guy had a .333 OBP coming into today despite being Timo'd by Ozzie (ie put in positions where he really shouldn't be playing, like CF and RF). He's going to be a halfway decent backup for this team for the next couple years so get used to it. You will see Andy Gonzalez and you will like it!
