  1. Just devastating. Prayers go out to all of those families. Jist sickening. My heart goes out to Ariana Grande too. I can't imagine what's going through her mind with all this from her concert.
  2. Grienke was just fantastic. 8.2 IP 4 H 1 R 1 ER 1 BB 12 SO And it's over.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 22, 2017 -> 11:00 PM) Not to be insensitive, but the metrics were awful prior to the murder I know. But remember earlier in the year and some ST, he had a family matter. Timmy just didn't look right all year.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 22, 2017 -> 10:31 PM) Who's going to play SS for the White Sox if it's NOT Anderson? Chill. Alot of players have bad defensive seasons, even the good ones. I doubt he'll be this bad next season. He's started to look like his old self before this game. I think that tragic death he experienced hurt his focus and metrics early on.
  5. Ducks fans are insufferable and their team is a bunch of dirty goons so it's nice to see them eliminated. I can't see them beating the Pens unfortunately without Johansen and Fisher but you never know. This is me assuming Ottawa loses tomorrow of course (although I'll be rooting for them).
  6. Tim was so good defensively last year as a rookie. Disappointing season for him defensively. Reminds me of Frazier first year when we got him.
  7. After all the s***ty pitching sox hitters faced in Seattle, Greinke probably looks like a right handed Kershaw out there.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ May 22, 2017 -> 09:03 PM) Cubs will end up trading Baez and Jimenez (plus) for Archer And then pick up Yolmer for Trevor Clifton once Moncada is ready.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ May 22, 2017 -> 07:54 PM) 3 for last 38 for Basabe He was 4 for his last 38. Now 4 for his last 42. (14 K's) Gotta remember he's a year and a half younger than Collins. He can start at W-S next year and still be a good prospect. Basabe usually adjusts in the second half though. Last year in low A he hit .222/.293/.397 (29.9% K rate) in the first half. Second half he hit .292/.355/.493.
  10. Hansen. 5 IP 6 H 3 R 3 ER 3 BB 10 SO
  11. Very interesting to watch. Love Willie Harris btw. Did not know Basabe's english was that good.
  12. Hansen starting to rack up the strikeouts now. Basabe really struggling right now.
  13. QUOTE (SouthSide2004 @ May 22, 2017 -> 06:50 PM) A bunch of those Kannapolis hitters should be in high A. I think a couple of them will be promoted when the second half of the minor league season starts or after the draft when guys usually move around.
  14. https://mobile.twitter.com/scottmerkin/stat...800574833938432 That should put an end on how to pronounce Robert questions.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 22, 2017 -> 04:07 PM) Would the Brewers trade Thames for Avi, and vice versa? Both essentially have three year deals, including 2017. $15 million/3 years is cheaper than we'll end up paying Avi. Thames is already 30 but LH. Which one is more likely to have "figured things out?" Already subject of PEDs rumors from the Cubs. Who else are we getting back since Avi is 5 years younger?
  16. Gonna be cool to see these kids off the field personalities. I heard Burdi and Collins are quite funny.
  17. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ May 22, 2017 -> 03:02 PM) As someone with an ethnic last name and an english first name, I no longer care. I don't care if he calls himself Poopdick McFartington if he can hit. Same. I have ethnic first and last name and am of half Mexican descent so I'll probably be pronouncing it the Spanish way, but say it in English to my sox buddies.
  18. QUOTE (Lillian @ May 21, 2017 -> 07:44 PM) Borchard wasn't a base stealing threat, but I seem to remember that he did have good foot speed, much like Avi. Perhaps I'm mistaken. Wasn't he signed as a center fielder? He was, but played only about 120 more games there in the minors than in RF. He wasn't exactly elite out there either. Hawk's comments about Avi are asinine. Mike Cameron was more of a 5 tool player than Avi and he had a questionable hit tool.
  19. QUOTE (Lillian @ May 21, 2017 -> 07:29 PM) He forgot to mention Joe Borchard, but that was another one, whom I sure that he would include in that group. Eh.. Borchard was never a speedster/base stealer at any point as a prospect.
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 21, 2017 -> 07:22 PM) I think he meant a prospect. Not to mention a guy who wasn't way past his prime.
