  1. QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Dec 14, 2016 -> 11:54 AM) You think the Sox will put that kind of value on a guy they had a chance to draft but didnt (and now has a torn ACL)? I dont know, maybe. Absolutely. Definitely their best prospect in their system. I will agree however they dont have enough in the cupboard even with him and O'Neill.
  2. QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Dec 14, 2016 -> 11:42 AM) Nah the Rangers could get him too if they really wanted to. The Mariners are a non starter though, Tyler O'Niell is all they have and he's barely on the level of the 3rd pieces available from Houston. Kyle Lewis is damn good. He had a torn ACL.. people are acting like the kid completely shredded his knee.
  3. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Dec 14, 2016 -> 11:44 AM) Hopefully the incentives are strict, as $8M seems a bit rich. Hope the guarantee is closer to half that. Eh.. its one year. Not gonna cripple anybody. Grant saying 6 million in base. 2 million in incentives.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 14, 2016 -> 10:05 AM) Darling is a UFA after this season. If he keeps playing this way, he won't be as big of a discount from Corey as he would be now. I'm willing to bet he gets no more than 2.5-3 mil which is still half of Crawford's contract. I wish the Hawks knew this a year or two ago. Could've traded Crawford and kept Saad. I probably wouldn't deal him now (Vegas could take Kruger in the expansion draft) but I wouldn't be opposed to it either.
  5. Nice Hahn. Good vet depth until the kids are ready. The Tank!
  6. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 14, 2016 -> 08:24 AM) Braxton or Kolek + Competitive balance pick. I'd take either. Yep. I would think any sane person would.
  7. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 05:24 PM) Kolek has had injuries and has not performed well since being drafted Far too soon to write him off, but he is far from the top prospect he was a few years ago Its only been 2 years. He might not make it (I personally don't believe he will) but an arm/talent like that? You make the move everytime.
  8. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 11:34 AM) Miami has nothing to trade. They'll just sign Ziegler IMO I'll gladly take Garrett. He's a much better prospect than Arroyo (Giants) for example. Marlins have a slightly better farm than Giants.
  9. I read this as Justin Turner at first and got excited.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 11:38 AM) A bit cautions about some of these "scheme" QBs in college, where anyone steps in and dominates. Mariota (and Newton in fact) turned out alright. I'm sceptical about the kid reading certain plays, but his arm is the goods. Probably the strongest in the whole draft. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 10:58 AM) I hope you are right but I dont know that he falls to the Bears. Right now they have to worry about the Browns, 49ers, and seems like even Jacksonville selecting a QB before the Bears getting a crack. Trubinsky is getting a lot of hype now I'd be shocked if the Browns pass on Garrett. And Jags do have Bortles, but I'm not sure how they feel about him.
  11. QUOTE (oldsox @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 07:30 PM) He might do better in NL. I wouldn't doubt it. Only 28 and in his prime. As long as he's in RF, it's not THAT much of a stretch to say since his value is mostly with his glove... but he won't be in RF.
  12. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 02:14 PM) I think someone who is widely considering the best defensive catcher in the minors sounds like a wonderful thing for a young pitching staff. Even if he can hardly hit his weight. Kind of the reason why I want Bellinger if we talk to the Dodgers in any way. Dude is probably a legit gold glove caliber player at 1B that will help our infielders tremendously. It would be nice to have a stud defensive team ala the Royals.
  13. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 01:36 PM) I wouldn't be surprised if Diaz is in the starting rotation at Winston Salem. They could fast track him out of the bullpen though. Burdi, Diaz, and Ian Hamilton are all guys that could move really quickly. Hostetler has already said we have the luxury now to be patient with these kids and not rush them. A change most of us gladly embrace.
  14. QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 12:25 PM) So the Dodgers wanted to keep Hill, Jansen and Turner and it looks like they'll do just that. You think they decide to get a little aggressive now that they've accomplished their goals? Maybe jump into the Quintana derby? Just pure speculation by me but bringing back the same team as last year while the Cubs and Nationals get better doesn't seem like a recipe for breaking through and winning the pennant. Eh, I wouldn't say the Cubs got better. But they are still the best team in the NL without question. I agree I wonder if the Dodgers get on the Quintana sweepstakes. They may need to deal a contract, but Quintana of course has a very team friendly deal and will improve their rotation significantly.
  15. Wow.. https://mobile.twitter.com/mortreport/statu...395901056249857 Long overdue Rams. Suddenly their team just got a whole lot better.
  16. Wow.. wonder who the Marlins (and Nationals for that matter) look at now for a closer...
  17. As a baseball fan, I hope he goes to the National League. His bat is just as good as his arm. Well, maybe not as good, but its damn impressive.
  18. QUOTE (Moncada @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 11:42 AM) Reed fills one of the biggest holes in the Sox organization (power). He is Major league ready and should be a must in any deal for Q I like Reed as well. Kid has raked damn near every year in the minors. Would be a fantastic buy low type.
  19. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 09:57 AM) Sierra and Sosa are decent prospects, but neither offers any power to speak of Sosa does not walk much, and is not regarded as a plus hitter which gives me concerns about the bat playing at the mlb level Sierra has good speed and a tick above average hit tool, but I'd really like to see our system add some power Yea the sox are quickly going away from that (thank god). Even a guy like Tilson regardless of what he's projected to be, has a solid contact rate throughout his minor league career.
  20. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 02:12 AM) Don't forget we still have Jace Fry. Eh.. he's a long shot now with his second TJS unfortunately.
  21. Team is getting killed with injuries. Gronk, Green and now Forte and Rodgers. My team is literally limping to the playoffs.
  22. I wonder if people here would prefer Dahl in a deal or Rodgers. I actually like Dahl especially with the lack of legit OF prospects in oir system. Not sure if Colorado would deal him though.
  23. Absolutely huge win by the Jets. Bears are firmly in the #4 spot now. There's no way they are catching the Browns and 49ers. Jaguars being so terrible is bad though. Can't believe they are as bad as they are.
  24. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 11, 2016 -> 03:58 PM) I, for one, don't particularly love Tapia. I would much prefer McMahon or even Wall over Tapia. Yikes.
  25. Thank you Josh Bellamy.
