QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 10:14 PM) Yep, and I remember having to apologize to jphat after the home run for bashing Pods...that of course was jphat was the biggest homer in the history of sports. Amazing what a 180 turn he's made from 4-5 years ago. It is the equivalent to Greg hating every 05' Sox player, years later or J4L liking wite.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 10:11 PM) I don't like the gameday links either. If I do that, it's only because it's the only thing available at the time. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 10:12 PM) Same here. I always go for the box if it's available, but like you say, gameday is often up first. Good... I still love both of you then.

Man seriously there are some f***ed up people out there. Been pissed off for the last two days, but today takes the cake when I found out the details. One of my closest friends (known since I was 11) just got back from the Army about 2 weeks ago after bring out there for about a year and a half or so. So naturally he's been going out pretty much everyday with us, family, etc.. Couple days ago, he was out with his cousin at a bar (on the north-side I believe), and these 2 guys started to hit on his cousin. She said no, and was not interested. They kept going at it, again... no. Then, they started to get physical with her cause she wasn't interested. Well, my buddy is not a fighter and hates confrontation (despite being 6-4, 260) but he had to step in with what these jack asses were doing to her. Bar-tender kicked them all out.. no problem, so the guy challenges my boy to a fight. He said alright lets settle this like men even though he didn't want to, but probably could never forgive what that dick did to his cousin (which I won't say). The second guy (his friend) wound up sneaking around through the back, turns his truck on and ran my friend over, basically blind-sided him. Then, put the truck in reverse and ran him over again. Now here is my friend due back (or WAS due back) in the Army (and I believe in Iraq) in 2 weeks, is now having his second major surgery (the third, I believe, is scheduled for Saturday) to pair a shattered pelvis, 7 bones crushed in different spots in his left leg, broken knee-cap in his right leg, torn rotator in his left shoulder and broken bones in his left arm, and his face on the left side is supposedly (horrible looking) with the loose skin burned from the concrete/tires. I won't see him till Saturday, but I was incredibly pissed to hear this news today. Thank god I just heard a couple of hours ago, the police did in fact catch the two f***ers who did this and currently are locked up. No that won't bring back his pelvis, left-leg, etc.. but I hope those scumbags spend a long time in prison. I'm just glad he will probably walk again (even if it won't be 100% again), despite nearly having his spine crushed and better yet.. still ALIVE. Very emotional day.

Where the f*** have you been Du?!

Bren's man had himself a night. Schwartz was a monster.. 6 RBI.. Dan Black! Greene went 1-2, R, BB, RBI. Great Falls went up against "Mr. No-Hitter" Patrick Schuster today. BTW Jeff, I'm glad you ditched the gameday links. Tired of trying to just find the boxscore. (you hear that flavum? )

Ya Derrick said before he was not gonna do twitter/facebook/etc.. (even if he wanted to, but was not into it) Alot of his close-net group tries to steer him away from stuff like that.

Don't think they would do it, but if I was the cubs I would really, really entertain moving Marmol and getting a great deal out of it. Maybe it's just me, but I love Cashner's arm as their future closer. Fukudome is also attractive, but they probably need to eat alot of that salary to get a good prospect or two out of it.

Man... Seabrook is losing all his BC boys he grew up with. (only guy left is Brouwer)

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 03:36 PM) TSN reporting that Andrew Ladd is being traded to Atlanta....not official yet, but getting close. Ha.. that one unnamed GM was right about Atlanta being the team. Canucks signed Jeff Tambellini as well and the Kings (who many say are the Hawks of 07-08) are going hard after Kovalchuk.

Apparently I missed the link/chaos here. Hopefully everyone wasn't in too much trouble for their jobs today.

Wow... Canucks signed Manny Malhotra and just got defensemen Dan Hamhuis. They are gonna be really dangerous.

The Tiger Woods Marriage Saga Thread
SoxAce replied to Heads22's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Not buying the HGH thing at all (and even if he did, there was rumors it was when he had his knee injury to heal up quicker) but I definitely think there is many more woman out there than reported... possibly another kid(s) as a poster said here too. (or probably an STD) -
My goodness... horrible deals being given out today. Gay, Milicic, Gooden, Salmons and when Joe Johnson accepts his, add him to the list.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 11:41 AM) Seems weird to meet AGAIN. They might actually be talking contract? Then in other words.. we can't get excited till July 8th I believe. All indications though are that he wants to leave, but in a S&T and not leave Toronto out to dry though.

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 11:37 AM) Chris Bosh just landed in Chicago. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 11:40 AM) KC Johnson reports the Bulls will be meeting with him. Sweet!
-
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 11:26 AM) Oh my, Bucks reportedly close to re-signing Salmons for 5 yr, 39 million per David Aldridge. Good.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 09:27 AM) Yuck. Steeger is seriously not that good and he really doesn't have a nose for the net... a fear of the net seems more accurate. Man.. I dunno dude had alot of potential. Sure he turned the puck over at times, but his hands are incredible. He is actually younger than Stalberg too and not sure I like the reports about Stalberg's hockey I.Q. (and even from Leaf fans but his speed is amazing). Stan is banking on a late blossom for Stalberg, whereas Versteeg is already further along in development. Wasn't worth 3 mil though, so I know he had to go.
-
Man we are gonna be playing some kids next season. Should be exciting! There are reports the Hawks are at or around 55.2 mil. (Bowman is staying quiet about it of course) That Connelly kid looks ready from all reports so... Sharp (3.9) - Toews (6.3) - Kane (6.3) Brouwer (1.025) - Bolland (3.375) - Hossa (5.275) Stalberg/Persson (.850) - Reasoner (1.15) - Kopecky (1.2) Bickell (.675) - Dowell (.525) - Burish/Skille (.800-.900) Keith (5.538) - Seabrook (3.5) Campbell (7.143) - Hjalmarsson (2.0-3.0*) Connelly (.875) - Hendry/Denis-Pepin/UFA (.800-.850*) Niemi (2.0-3.0*) Crawford (.800) ? (assuming no Ladd, Beach and some others not called up, estimated guesses on RFA salaries, etc..)

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 09:26 PM) anyone? 1B/OF with pop from the left side. Current slash: .284/.356/.449/.805 Don't Look Ace! I like your thinking! (btw if you didn't get the joke, I've mentioned him a couple of times on the Cubs thread and one on a thread here. Like his game, think he is very, very underrated.

QUOTE (sircaffey @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 12:21 AM) Not 1 of the 4 analysts on NBA Fastbreak picked Chicago as LBJ's landing spot, two minutes ago. 2 NY's, 2 CLE. Best news today. Makes me think LeBron to Chicago has alot more legs than given credit.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 10:19 PM) Real Gm reporting Wade has given up in trying to lure LBJ to Miami. It will be a 2 team race, imo, between the Bulls & Cavs. Though still another rumor, but where is Steve to gloat?!
-
Sad to see Versteeg go, but I wasn't as attached to him as Buff. Hopefully he can help Kessel and others from the Leafs and at least he is gonna play in Canada. Good trade for both sides. I'm assuming this means the Hawks now are done pending on the RFA guys?
-
QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 10:13 PM) Depends what you call news. The rumor mill bulls*** machine is about to go into a whole near gear. Breaking News: Knicks and Nets step inside LeBron's house to chat.
