QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:41 PM) You are going to really hate it when I suspend your ass on Thursday at 8pm central. Forum mods can suspend people? News to me. BTW, I still believe he stays in Cleveland. But if he does come here... I will be drinking heavily that night and the next night.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 10:14 PM) Would Stefan Gartrell be just as good or better than Andruw Jones at this point? Why was I thinking the same thing when I see his ABs today? Gartrell murders LHP.

I'm excited to see Hudson back in the game if Peavy gets a DL stint, though it does suck. P.S. I hope we get Torres up to as far as our LR problem. I like what Pena has done this season for the most part, but he is not a LR and he has been left in to get killed this year inflating his ERA.
-
I long said Daniel Hudson would be used more than most people realized. Well... there you go, though I thought it would be because of Freddy sucking, not Peavy.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 02:57 PM) Buehrle earned his 10/5 rights last night, im surprised this wasn't talked about on a bigger scale here on SoxTalk Never considered Mark to be traded even when we sucked actually.

QUOTE (qwerty @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 03:25 PM) Dude, stop hating. You heard ace, didn't you? Hawk himself said that it was one of the greatest plays you will ever see a right fielder make. Preach qwerty! I bet you typed all that without even smiling once didn't you?

QUOTE (Real @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 02:21 PM) Bosh isn't going to Miami because Toronto isn't taking Beasley's contract, same with Cleveland because Bosh won't play there So really, it's as if they don't WANT to play in Chicago because Chicago can satisfy a S&T to essentially either team, assuming Noah+Deng or Gibson+Deng are suitable options If Bosh lands in Miami or Cleveland I'll be really shocked Deng has a worse contract than Beasley and his potential isn't nearly as big. (though he is more of a proven commodity despite the injury issues and has better character) Noah trumps anything Miami can offer, but the Bulls won't do it.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 03:03 PM) This rumor has been around for a couple of days now. It doesn't matter, especially when "rumors" can be easily shot down. (I.E. Gortat/Pietrus for Deng.. all we know that is still on the table) We don't need idiots like Kaplan banking his "sources" on deals when the Bulls FO has been tightly lipped about the whole situation.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 01:57 PM) @thekapman - If the rumors I heard about the Bulls agreeing to trade Deng to Portland for Przybilla + Bayless are true they have a FA in the fold? Right? I would think so, and I HATE that Kaplan is going around reporting this. Bulls supposedly might have a couple trades for Deng locked up. I hope Kaplan doesn't screw it all up. And yes I would love the deal cause I'm a huge Bayless fan as a backup PG. Incredible potential. Probably the 2nd or 3rd most athletic PG in the NBA.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 02:53 PM) Yes, because I'm a "hater". First step is admitting it. Congratulations, your well on your way sir.

Weaver owns us.. hopefully that changes tonight.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 01:52 PM) It's funny because that "gem" showed just how awkward he is in RF. He took basically the worst route imaginable to get to that ball. It was still an outstanding play or "recovery." Obviously noone talked about the defensive route nor should, but that was still a great play to make even though his route wasn't very good. Haters gonna hate, and that is not surprising with you.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 01:37 AM) You're right. That would be an overpay. But that just goes to show that these aren't the Twins of the past. With the new park in place, they're looking to spend, or in this case sacrifice some of their future to go for it this year. They wouldn't even be in the conversation for Lee a few years ago. Meh.. unless they are offering Gibson and Revere, they aren't losing THAT much of their future. Ramos is obviously blocked (well.. for the moment barring a move to DH/3B) and Hicks, who I like alot, will be a loss, but they will have Span for a while out there also and an improving Young in LF. The writing was on the wall with their money when they signed Mauer to that loaded $ deal. Couple that with their superior scouting and they are in good shape.

Blake-Simon I hate you with every bone in my body. With that said, Happy B-Day you piggly s.o.b!

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 12:46 AM) I don't know what you guys have been watching, but Rose has never struck me as anywhere near the caliber of scorer as Wade is. Just my personal opinion. He has incredible potential, the best (along with Wall) I'll probably ever see in the next decade, but I'm with you I'm skeptical if he'll ever fulfill it (then again I view Rose's upside enormously big unlike others). I don't even think he will ever hold Chris Paul's jock strap in the next 3 years as far as PGs, but Rose actually NEEDS the players which is why this FA is so important. If the Bulls strike out, I don't see Rose ever truly fulfilling his potential. If he gets a guy like LeBron (especially someone who can actually FINISH at the rim... f*** you Deng...) along with shooters then his assist will go up as well as his overall PER and defensive efficiencies. Thibo is the right step in his development however (especially defensively of course) over a coach who has never coached in his life.
-
The way he is hitting (and that defensive gem he made yesterday) he is comming back to becomming "THE" CQ.
-
QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 10:20 PM) I think its way too early to be counting on Sale being in the rotation in 2012, let alone ever. Let's wait until he has more than one minor league game under his belt. Thank you voice of reason.
-
Brent Lillibridge b****es. Like I said before.. NIGHT and DAY better with the bat this year. Congrats to Tank (1st major league homer) and Santos (1st major league save) as well.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 09:41 PM) I think the two of them would make beautiful music together... Miami was THIS close to drafting Rose just a couple years ago to pair with Wade. No doubt in my mind Rose probably would be farther along in this development (which is scary to think) learning off Wade. (though Spalotra isn't as much better of a coach as Vinny)
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 09:35 PM) I would think LeBron would be anti-noah since they got into it about James's dancing bulls***. They were cool during/after the playoffs though. (I.E. Noah and LeBron laughing at the score's table when they were both subbing in, Noah hugging LeBron after we lost game 5, etc..)
-
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 09:12 PM) Also, can confirm several reports of a rift between Wes Wesley & James camp. Wes was indeed pushing Chicago, I'm told. Ya I figured that much hence the "not good" post.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 05:29 PM) The big question is what would the Bulls do with that cap space. Who could they get? What star guards/forwards are out there that would be good fits that we could acquire? Give me Lee/Boozer and Allen/Redick as a worst case. (fill the other spots with snipers and a big man to help Rose) and call it an off-season. Still a top 5 team in the East, though still will probably get bounced (early or late other people can say) in the playoffs. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 05:21 PM) sportsguy33 BTW: The only thing I'd bet on - Wade back to Miami. I think he's milking this for his doc. No way he walks away from 30m during a divorce. 3 minutes ago via web He is guessing, but I agree with him. Prove me wrong Wade!!
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 05:16 PM) He was hitting in the .260s on like May 4th. That is when I wanted him gone. A month into the season. Knew all along this was going to happen. Like I said though, he would be good on the bench as a PH power option (OPS). nothing else.

Gardenhire, by alot.
