  1. If this needs a separate thread, please more it. But, it seemed unnecessary for another World Cup thread: Report: Former FIFA exec paid $5 million to support Qatar WC bid I'm SHOCKED!
  2. Finally saw Days of Future Past. GREAT movie. My wife wants to go back and see it again.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 30, 2014 -> 11:43 AM) So if the original director of a movie is brought back on to direct a reboot of the same movie, is it really a reboot? Roland Emmerich just signed on to direct the reboot of Stargate This makes me very excited

  5. I dont claim to be a hockey expert... but I really think Crawford is an average goalie who greatly benefits from a great defense in front of him. When that defense falters, Crawford gets exposed. Yes, he does make some great saves.
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ May 27, 2014 -> 08:55 PM) I have to laugh at you guys discussing realism in a movie about a giant lizard vs two giant bugs. You laugh.... until a giant lizard plows through Chicago.
  7. Stanley Cup Final Schedule Released Game 1: Wednesday, June 4 Game 2: Saturday, June 7 Game 3: Monday, June 9 Game 4: Wednesday, June 11 Game 5: Friday, June 13 Game 6: Monday, June 16 Game 7: Wednesday, June 18
  8. "With the Sochi games raising the bar to an absurd $51 billion, hosting the Olympics no longer looks like a winning proposition." Sochi was such an odd case. They essentially created an entire city from scratch, and waisted billions on corruption. Vancouver cost $6.4 billion and Turino cost $700 million. With the right city, it can be done for a reasonable cost (less than $4 billion)
  9. Cubs released the renderings of the Wrigley renovations. Looks nice to me. As part of the renovation, the bullpens will be moved to under the bleachers.
  10. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ May 27, 2014 -> 12:02 PM) I liked the balance, too. And I thought the quick snippets of fights before switching to another scene really built on the suspense of the big final battle. My son and I (along with others in the theater) cheered when Godzilla My first thought was lol
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 22, 2014 -> 09:17 PM) As far as movies to be excited about in the future, try Nolan's INTERSTELLAR. Interstellar intrigues me.
  12. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ May 27, 2014 -> 06:06 AM) Saw Godzilla in IMAX 3D this weekend. I really enjoyed it. I personally liked the way they slowly built to Godzilla's arrival and the build-up to the big battle at the end. There were some great scenes with the MUTO, too. The scene on the railroad bridge was awesome. I couldnt agree more. I really really liked it. I knew going in that . I like the twist that . I liked the nice balance between story and destruction, and it wasnt destruction just to have destruction.
  13. Cubs chairman to submit revised expansion plan for Wrigley Field That's a huge middle finger to the rooftops
  14. Really genuinely pissed at my employer right now. more BS. Just freaking fed up with this organization.
  15. QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 19, 2014 -> 11:21 PM) If you're a fan of Heidi Watney's boobs, I suggest you tune in to Quick Pitch sometime between now and the next 11 or so hours on MLB Network. They're glorious... I just did a quick google search, I'm not impressed by the ladies.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 19, 2014 -> 01:11 PM) The new FB app sucks as the most recent feed is hidden. "oh switch to paper" yeah that doesnt do most recent either. I am in "most recent" 100% of the time. I dont want Facebook to tell me what is important to me.
  17. Brandon Marshall is on The View. May have just signed a contract extension. 3 years, $30m.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 18, 2014 -> 12:41 PM) Words cannot express how disappointing this is to me http://money.cnn.com/2014/05/18/news/compa...ectv/index.html I guess u-Verse slowly gets phased out?
  19. Salary wise, you could do Boozer, Mirotic, and picks for Love. Not sure that's the deal Minnesota wants.
  20. QUOTE (woods of ypres @ May 15, 2014 -> 11:25 PM) Not holding my breath, but I hope the new guy isn't another puppet for the owners. The commissioners job is to work for the owners.
