  1. Finished Season 1 of Game of Thrones.
  2. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 24, 2014 -> 02:45 PM) Wow, look at all of these actors/actresses that were on that MTV show Undressed: http://morningafter.gawker.com/checking-in...4/+laceydonohue ohhhh I remember "enjoying" that show as a kid.
  3. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 24, 2014 -> 12:50 PM) Is it a common practice to mail thank you cards to your interviewer(s)? I typically send a follow up thank you email.
  4. My wife and i just started watching Game of Thrones. Through Episode 7. REALLY enjoying it. And, my enjoyment has absolutely nothing to do with the incredibly awesome lesbian scene in S1E07. The scene was over, I looked over at my wife and said "I have no idea what Petyr Baelish (littlefinger) was just saying. I was too distracted." yea, she agreed.
  5. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 04:39 PM) Cowley tweeting, Bulls/Love rumors coming out of Twin cities, absolutely no truth to it. Cowley tweeting: "Bulls/Love rumors include Ozzie Guillén being sent to Minn as part of the deal. Guillén family is not happy. And, Don Cooper sucks"
  6. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 03:49 PM) ***Making plans to plant lots of trees when the star of Footloose dies*** LMAO! I'd welcome a tree with a Bacon infestation.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 10:50 AM) So apparently years ago LA planted a tree to honor the late/great George Harrison. They recently had to cut it down. Why? Beetle infestation. You can't make this stuff up. Often the truth is funnier than fiction.
  8. So, the latest "NFL to LA" rumor is that the NFL wants to build and OWN the stadium, then lease it to a team. That explains why they've been trying to stop other teams from building.
  9. Kevin Love Trade To Cavaliers ‘Deal Is Done’; No Timetable Given
  10. I have to say, I'm not missing Mac on The Score.
  11. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 12:01 AM) Why he wearing a tux Because he's a professional. Setting a new style.
  12. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jul 17, 2014 -> 06:11 PM) Is her getting a job in Iowa City a viable option? We're actually working on a scenario where she'll work as an "independent contractor" so the company doesnt have to deal with the taxes. The VP of accounting actually brought it up to my wife's boss, and we presented the idea to her boss shortly thereafter. so, we're on the same wavelength there. Her company doesn't want to lose her and she doesnt to leave the company.
  13. QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Jul 17, 2014 -> 03:58 PM) That's just s***ty. I wonder if mentioning that you had accepted a job because of what she was told would do anything? na. it was a pretty hard no. The higher-ups didnt want to spend the time/money to setup taxes in another state. Her boss and bosses boss fought to let her move and stay with the company
  14. @WSJbreakingnews U.S. intelligence confirms surface-to-air missile fired at Malaysian jet but are divided over origin.
  15. THe rug just got pulled out from underneath me. My wife was expecting her job to allow her to work from home if we moved to Iowa. They just told her now that she cannot (even though all 3 of the people above her were ok with it). Looks like I have to turn down the job now. I am so pissed.
  16. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 16, 2014 -> 02:28 PM) OK, good to hear. I still probably won't get it. Between the 6 Bears games that are national broadcasts and at least 4-5 more that I'm likely to get regionally, it's not worth $200. Might pay $50-80 to get just the Red Zone channel if that were an option. Yea, I'm torn. I am most likely moving to near Iowa City this summer. The major broadcast station is based out of Cedar Rapids, so it can flip between Bears/Vikings/Packers. I"m not sure I could guarantee I'd get all of the Bears games as "regional"
  17. QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Jul 16, 2014 -> 02:32 PM) But how is that different than a laptop or tablet? Or are you saying that a video game system requires use of the TV, while if you have it on your laptop you could still be using your TV to watch cable (or satellite) tv? I just thought the whole point of this was to sell NFL Sunday Ticket to non satellite subscribers, so no matter what I use to view it, they aren't getting anything more from me. These companies still have issues with offering their content on devices connected to TVs (consoles/AppleTV/Roku). If it's on a TV, they want you to view it OTA or buy their cable/satellite package. If it's just on a mobile device, they can kind of feel a little better about it. They are extremely fearful of the digital future and fighting it as best they can.
  18. QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Jul 16, 2014 -> 02:26 PM) Though, I wonder why game consoles are more expensive than any other option. That's simple, actually. It because they know if you are streaming it to your video game system (connected to your HD TV), you might be doing so in place of having a satellite subscription.
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 16, 2014 -> 02:21 PM) Sounds like you need some kind of mac/apple device, of which I have none. Incorrect. The report is from an Apple-centric site, but the "compatible tablets" on the DirectTV page includes Android devices.
  20. NFL Sunday Ticket to be made available without a satellite subscription
  21. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 6, 2014 -> 10:33 AM) Ya but Pitch Perfect is the best movie ever. A bit of an over-statement, but my family loves that movie. Huge hit with my kids.
  22. Tech journalist Ryan Block tried to cancel his Comcast account, it didnt go so well...
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 09:36 AM) Some of the predictions were in the high 50's, so if you compare it to the 2011 version's opening as well, which it beat handily, it's widely being considered a huge success as the sequel picked up business when starting over with an entirely new (human) cast. Jason Clarke did Zero Dark Thirty, but I bet only 5% of the people who went to the movie even knew who he was...the main attraction for them was the Caesar storyline. Interesting. I didnt knwo what they were projecting. If it was in the 50s, then yea, they did great. I really liked the first, looking forward to seeing the second.
  24. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 09:14 AM) Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was excellent. Can't wait to see what they do for the next movie. it looks great from what I have seen. I was sad to see it not do "great" this weekend, but $70+m is nothing to sneeze at.
  25. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 04:19 PM) Does that alleviate the other issue? I'm hoping. THere's many factors in us moving closer to her home. that's one of them.
