  1. I will say this, NBC has built an incredible online portal for the Olympics that I'm not sure other networks could duplicate quickly. Their online live event streaming is amazing. They need to figure out a way to use this technology for prime time TV.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 11:26 AM) Don't forget the Clippers. THey have a better chance than the Nets. lol
  3. Thoughts: If Amare goes to Miami, does that increase the Bulls chances for landing LeBron? At that point he has Four Options: Stay in Cleveland, Go to NY, Go to NJ, Go to Chicago.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 07:59 AM) I doubt a guy who is the best in the league at his position is worried about Deng. If he wanted to play in Chicago, that isn't something that would stop him. Its not like he is going to lose playing time to him or something. LeBron plays a 2/3 combo, right? Well, there ya go. When LeBron is at 2, Deng is at 3 until we can trade him.
  5. Man, that Obama guy sure sucks at catching terrorists.
  6. QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Feb 15, 2010 -> 02:00 PM) I don't trust that idea based on Canada's cauldron construction skills. Oh I wasnt saying for this Olympics. just one down the road.
  7. QUOTE (Felix @ Feb 15, 2010 -> 02:39 PM) The hot rumor is now Tyrus Thomas to the Timberwolves: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-t...o&type=lgns I can't say I'd like this idea unless we already had a deal in place for Al, mostly because Thomas isn't the third big man we need. We need a defensive center that's a legit 7 footer, and while Thomas is certainly athletic enough, I don't think it makes sense to add him to play alongside Love/Jefferson. That being said, if it only cost expiring deals/bench players, it wouldn't hurt. I certainly wouldn't give up one of our firsts or any real talent, however. If we can dump Thomas and Hinrich, I'd be very happy. I still love the Hinrich to Boston trade, even if it was only idle speculation.
  8. FOr the record, I am not a huge fan of him either (I remember the story told on here about how much of a D-Bag he is). Just making the argument that sometimes it's better to have someone on your side, even if he isnt completely with you.
  9. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Feb 15, 2010 -> 09:57 AM) So if you are far to the left you must be a "nutbag" or "fundamentalist"? I removed nutbag because it wasnt what I meant to say. By fundamentalist, I meant someone who is in lock step with the ideology of the far left. I've spent months complaining about the GOP trying to "purge" it self with anyone who isnt in lock step with the far right ideology. I think it's stupid to rejoice over some on your side retiring because they didnt completely agree with the far left ideology 100% of the time. I LOVE the fact that the democratic party is a more open umbrella than the GOP.
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 15, 2010 -> 09:52 AM) He's no better than most Republicans. Heaven forbid he not be a left wing fundamentalist.
  11. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 15, 2010 -> 09:48 AM) Good riddance. you say that now until a republican takes his seat
  12. HuffPo Twitter: Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Indiana) to retire... developing...
  13. The Super Cauldron Idea: So, I go an idea during the opening ceremonies. They say every country has it's own unique cauldron and it must be seen "from a distance". So, why no use the entire STADIUM as the cauldron? Have a "ring of fire" along the stadiums roof? You could totally hide the "cauldron" during construction by saying the pipework is for pyrotechnics during the opening and closing ceremonies.
  14. QUOTE (3E8 @ Feb 14, 2010 -> 10:30 AM) North is DPR Korea and south is just Korea ah ok. I thought they had merged their Olympic groups a while back, or maybe it was just a one time thing.
  15. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 14, 2010 -> 10:15 AM) The good Korea or the bad Korea? I think the north and south go to the Olympics as just Korea.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 13, 2010 -> 09:42 PM) Crazy, Koreans were definitely colluding to try to keep Ohno out of the front btw. They were bumping him a lot on those passes. Fitting that they screwed themselves out of a sweep at the end. That was team skating at it's finest by the Koreans.... which is banned in speed skating. But of course, you can never prove it.
  17. QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 12, 2010 -> 02:56 PM) So last night I was pretty drunk and I guess I texted a friend that I f***ed Jiminy Cricket, I don't remember how that came up in conversation but I put it up on Facebook and forgot that I did that until someone commented on it just now. Is that wha you wished upon a star?
  18. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Feb 12, 2010 -> 12:15 PM) Scottie Pippen and Karl Malone are finalists for the 2010 Hall of Fame. both will make it in.
  19. Tonight's Olympic Opening Ceremony will be the first ever Olympic Opening or Closing Ceremony held inside (in a domed stadium)
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 12, 2010 -> 11:25 AM) This image makes me seethe with anger. Could have been worse, they could have been praying for him to die.

  25. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Feb 6, 2010 -> 11:54 AM) Didn't the Sox just get a new place with the Dodgers? How did that work financially? (I really have no idea how it worked, didn't pay that much attention). I think Camelback Ranch was funded through bonds, but I cant find it on Google. This is the best I could find:
