  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 10:43 AM) Athomeboy is bringing up alot fo great points. Many signs are pointing to the island being some part of the afterlife. I sent out an e-mail containing my previous post to a group of my fellow LOST fanatic friends, and one of them pointed this out to me:
  2. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 10:31 PM) We got to see the statue though. WOW! Ok, just reading a few lost forums... there is some interesting possible connections: Last week, Hurley was sketching.... the Sphinx. The statue this week looked very Egyptian in design. It could possibly be Horus... the egyptian god of the sky. Son of Osiris, god of the afterlife. The leader of Dharma... Horace Goodspeed. Some say the statue looks like Anubis. Anubis was the god to protect the dead and bring them to the afterlife. the statue of Anubis found at Tut's tomb had four toes on the hindfeet!!! Paul was wearing an ankh around his neck. The ankh is the Egyptian hieroglyphic for "eternal life". When i first saw the ankh, I couldnt place where I'd seen it before. DUH! I am a total Egyptology nut and it slipped right past me! The statue appears to be holding a ankh... Anubis is often depicted holding a ankh. Sawyer mentioned Richards eye liner, Egyptian use to wear it. "Richard Albert" = RA.... Ra was the sun god in Egyptian mythology. Think about it.... there have been hieroglyphs throughout the last 4 seasons.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 07:07 PM) "rumor has it" that Sanjay Gupta is out of the game for Surgeon general, for some reason. CNN pays better. lol
  4. QUOTE (SnB @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 07:20 PM) Hawaii or Mexico? We've been looking at maui, but have gotten alot of recommendations to go to mexico, especially for the all-inclusives. aaaand go Disney World... ok, now seriously... Hawaii. Like SouthsideDon said, the drug wars in Mexico are pretty bad right now. My church does a mission trip to Tijuana every year and they are having a hard time getting people to go, and there is a lot of fear about security.
  5. Ok, for starters, ".eco" is not a "World Wide Web"... it's a top-level domain. That aside, interesting idea
  6. He really does think he's the head of the GOP... he has the ability to demand a debate: Limbaugh Challenges Obama To A Debate
  7. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 02:00 PM) 1.7 million for pig odor research in Iowa I've been to iowa... my wifes from iowa... it's needed lol
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 01:05 PM) Tuscumbia, population 218 according to the 2000 census. Yeah, a bridge to no where!!! http://www.columbiamissourian.com/stories/...under-stimulus/ "The 1,000-foot long bridge is part of a state highway route that crosses the Osage River a tributary of the Missouri River about 30 miles southwest of the state capital in Jefferson City. The project is expected to cost $8.5 million." It has nothing to do with building a bridge TO somewhere. It's THROUGH somewhere. And the bridge was over 70 years old! Here is a map of the area. I'm not saying it's the worlds most important project, but if they find it important to their local economy... then isnt that the point behind the stimulus? If you look at the map, it's the only way to cross the river without going way south and either through or around Lake of the Ozarks, or going far east, then north, then backtracking. I dont know the inter-city commerce traffic down there, but I can see how it would be important to have trucks rolling through.
  9. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 12:00 PM) it might work as a temporary diversion, which the Democrats need. if it's a long term approach, most people aren't going to care about Limbaugh being mean to Obama. they will demand an improved economy. It's basically hitting them while their on the ground... stepping on their throat... the GOP is in such disarray that they are very vulnerable to attacks right now and the Democrats see that. They see that they can use Rush as a wedge at time when they are desperately trying to re-unify... and it seems to be working. They can use this time to get some real nice quotes from GOP leaders defending and praising rush. Then in 2010 and 2012... pull them back out: GOP Leader: "I think Rush is an asset to our party...." Rush: "I hope he fails" GOP Leader: "I hope he fails too" Rush: "I hope he fails" Announcer: "so and so follows the lead of Rush Limbaugh... are his polices best for America?" Rush: "I hope he fails"
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 10:26 AM) If I made it to Congress, which I would never run for (in political speak that means I'm already running) I'd propose the following bill, During a joint speak to Congress, all standing applause must wait until the speech is over, under punishment of caning. Time is money. I'd vote for it.
  11. AWESOME!! Congrats (You kinda took my idea. lol My first son is going to be August James... A.J.)
  12. Oh good lord... Well, it looks like no one from the state of Hawaii will ever be able to be on the presidential ballot in Mizzu ever again.
  13. DNC site: ImSorryRush.com And here is why the DNC is pounding the Limbaugh message:
  14. I'd say LOST, but I'd probably be a log carrying guy and get killed of by a flaming arrow. One Tree Hill: as long as I get to make out with Sophia Bush. Supernatural: I'd love to be a bad-ass demon Big Bang Theory: I'd love to Geek-out with those guys
  15. GOP: Oh, s***, this Steel guy has no idea what he is doing
  16. It's practically impossible to rig the draft lottery. It's a combination of balls that are randomly selected and there are several impartial observers.
  17. Eric Cantor criticizes Rush... refuses to elaborate or reaffirm.
  18. Emblems to Stamp Projects Funded by the Stimulus Package
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 3, 2009 -> 10:56 AM) Why is John Yoo still employed? Because to some, what the Bush administration did was heroic acts of bravery to save America.
  20. QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 3, 2009 -> 10:18 AM) You know though, it's not that they're unaware or whatever, they're just not in the business of rushing plans. Correct. Large scale Al Qaeda attacks arent "hack jobs". They are meticulous and thought out. It can take years to plan something out.
  21. Well, i think the "core" is in Pakistan. As for all the cells, I think the ongoing war on terror in Afghanistan has really splintered the structure. It's still there, but the ties are frayed.
  22. define "best". If it's favorite... then I pick Hurley. If it's "best" as in "most interesting"... then it's Ben.
