  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 20, 2009 -> 06:55 AM) More than anything it reinforced the stereotype of the arrogant Americans who think the world should do everything the way that they do. How is buying a DVD for a friend "the stereotype of the arrogant Americans"? THe dude bought him a DVD. BIG DEAL!
  2. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 10:02 PM) This was the biggest slap in the face thing in a long long time. This guy seriously has no clue on international political ettiquete (sp) Kinda like BUsh invading a country with no international, NATO, or UN support. I tend to think buying a DVD and not knowing that DVDs have "regions codes" is far from "the biggest slap in the face". How many Americans... and political figures know DVDs have region codes? I bet 90% have no clue.
  3. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 02:23 PM) I was going to say Pierre Chang's daughter, but that can't be right since we've seen her father before. 1) Doesnt mean Ping is her REAL father. 2) Maybe her father is on he island and knows Widmore.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 11:11 AM) I dont understand why Sun and Ben and Frank stayed in the present while the rest went into the past. A theory I heard and tend to believe is that there is a "law of physics" that won't allow the same person to occupy the same time/space. So, Ben didnt flash back because the 10 year old version of him is in 1977 on the island. So, that would mean a younger version of Sun is on the island as well. An interesting theory.
  5. I f'in called the runway and Sun, Frank, Ben in the present.
  6. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 08:23 PM) Not for quite some time. Here is the problem with this venture. Even though it sounds like a "unique" idea, they don't hold any piece of the market that is untouched. This is strictly internet radio. ESPN and The Score are both streaming online at all times. Obviously, you can't get the internet station in your car, so they already behind the ball. On top of it, the programming lineup is going to scare either station. Chet and Boom appeal to the 55 and over crowd. How many 55 year olds are going to stream internet radio every day? While Hood is a good guy and has talent, he couldn't make it on either station in town. I don't know why anyone should expect him being able to steal listeners from the two big boys. It just isn't going to work. Here's my question, how many internet only radio stations are successful? How many can afford to pay 6 figures to their talent? These are honest questions, I dont know. I would imagine not many if any. I used to listen to "Fearless Radio" a few years back, but they were running on almost no budget and I wouldnt call them successful.
  7. QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 03:34 PM) WHAT THE f*** IS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD WHEN PEOPLE ARE FLOCKING FROM ESPN AND 670AM TO WORK WITH NORTH ON INTERNET RADIO! ARE YOU KIDDING ME. ^^^^^^^^^^^ But in all fairness, I have no problem relegating Offman, Coppock and Huebner to the net. Never liked any of them. Coppock was ok.
  8. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 03:12 PM) http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/media/play...8&id=911777 cool, thanks.
  9. QUOTE (kev211 @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 02:43 PM) Yes where?
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 03:06 PM) He's going to Mike North's web-based sports station with Offman and Coppock and Huebner..... I was under the impression Hood did not like North. Guess I was wrong.
  11. QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 05:37 PM) Eh, it'd be nice, but running the country > White Sox exactly my thought. He can make it up to us later
  12. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 03:35 PM) Its not that at all. If you are a catholic, and have gone through the Pre-Cana process you have went through a Natural Family Planning class. Or as I call it, birth control that keeps women pregnant all the time. Luckily, I was raised lutheran and birth control is allowed. not only that, but one of my pastors once said something along the lines of... "sex feels good. enjoy it. As long as it's in the confines of marriage, do it all you want".... I like him. lol
  13. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 03:19 PM) Yes, but condoms are still very effective in preventing the spread of HIV. There's no way around that. 100 people having sex using condoms are less likely to spread disease than 25 people having sex without condoms. And people are going to have sex. http://www.advocatesforyouth.org/publicati...et/fscondom.htm Very interesting. I stand corrected.
  14. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 01:48 PM) Not to hijack or unfairly pile on the Church, but apparently the Pope said today that the distribution of condoms in Africa can actually contribute to and "aggravate" the spread of Aids there. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/mar/1...ca-condoms-aids Perhaps because he's never used one, he doesn't understand how they work. Well, i actually understand where he is coming from. Condoms would encourage sex because people would think... and be taught... this wont allow HIV through, so use it. However, the size of a sperm compared to the size of HIV is staggering. If a sperm can get through... HIV will get through MUCH easier.
  15. THe first cut should be state funded healthcare for retired state employees.
  16. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 01:09 PM) I thought along your lines, but I found a few people that I wanted to talk to again fairly easily, so it has been worth it. yea, I have a lot of friends for High School and College that I want to keep in tough with and back when i graduated High School... nothing like this really existed yet. So, it was e-mail or phone... both of which i suck at keeping in contact with.
  17. grrr... I vowed complete rejection of Facebook in my protest against pop-culture... but I must cave. Too many good things and people i'd like to reconnect with. DRAT! Joined the group.
  18. so stupid... so pointless, but I love it.
  19. QUOTE (The Critic @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 11:43 PM) Willis Field!! Hell Yeah!!! That actually wouldnt be TOO bad. at least it sounds like it's named after someone, rather than a company.
  20. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 11:27 PM) Thanks for the cash, US Cellular. Never used your service and hated your Joan Cusack commercials, but we have a much nicer ballpark today because of you.
  21. U.S. Cellular Facing Pressure To Sell Welcome to Sprint Field
  22. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 13, 2009 -> 03:08 PM) They need to get this Franken/Coleman thing sorted out right quick. This is becoming unfair to the people of Minnesota. Trial, investigation, whatever, finish the damn thing off please.
  23. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Mar 13, 2009 -> 02:54 PM) I don't think the spider bite had anything to do with him walking again. It sounds to me like this was an accident that they even found out his nerves were still working. that's the impression I got as well.
