QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 12:22 PM) Honestly I think that a Plax move is going to be extreme boom or bust I vote boom.
-
Can someone clarify something for me? I havent been following Plaxico's case, isnt he in line for some significant jail time? If so, why would ANYONE want to sign him until his jail term is over.
-
I was listening to The Score about an hour ago and I swear I heard Zack say he ran into Plaxico while at the Final 4 and apparently Cutler has contacted him about coming to play with him in Chicago. Just thought I would pass that along.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 10:37 AM) You might be able to take up some donations from around Soxtalk for his and guys such as Morneau, Gil Meche, Miguel Cabrera, Cliff Lee, etc. Sounds good to me!

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 10:20 AM) Did you recently purchase a Joe Mauer jersey? my Pastor, who is a Cubs fan, asked me to buy jerseys of all the cubs opponents. I declined. May have to pick up a zambrano though

For the best interests of the Bears, I have decided NOT to by a Jay Cutler jersey. After I buy a named jersey, within a year they ether get injured, traded, or start sucking. Here is a list: Frank Thomas, Andres Galarraga (1997), Brian Urlacher (2005), Kordell Stewart (Right before he came to the Bears), Damon Stoudamire (before he was traded to Portland), Michael Jordan (bought 23.... he retired the first time. Bought 45... he went back to 23)

I'm loving the GOP response to Obama's call to eliminate all nuclear weapons: "what an ignorant fool". Yes, desiring a world without massively destructive weapons capable of sending us to the stone age is soooooo ignorant and stupid.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 3, 2009 -> 12:36 PM) Obama nominates a uniquely qualified person to run the 2010 census. Expert in statistics. Worked in the Census Bureau under George H.W. Bush. The Republican response of course...is to respond angrily, because the guy actually may know what he's doing, and we certainly can't allow that. those damn minorities. gettin the way of progress.

QUOTE (The Bones @ Apr 4, 2009 -> 12:15 AM) New out of town scoreboard looks great but is there enough room for 14 games on there? It's a digital board. They could probably play movies on there if they wanted to. So, it's flexible. i am sure there are different score views. One of which being all 14 games. Also, if the new board has the current game's lineups, what happened to the current game board in left center?

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 3, 2009 -> 10:11 AM) Actually, this is something interesting I've observed that only Americans seem to do and think is normal. In every other country (in my experience), the rich/middle class live in the city and the poor live in the sub-urban areas. I guess Americans never stopped and wondered why...oh, that's right, maybe because it's much easier on the work/life balance to LIVE NEAR YOUR f***ING JOB than it is to drive all day and be stuck in traffic which undoubtedly increases your stress level. And why do we do it? More house for the money! Yes, enjoy that more house for the money you're never at because you're in a traffic jam driving home. :notworthy -

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 3, 2009 -> 09:43 AM) Right. But what does that have to do with the suburbs? Oh, that's right, absolutely nothing. If people from all over the world were visiting the city and spending all of this money, why does the city need to suck even more money out of the suburban areas surrounding it?! It doesn't add up to anything more than corruption. My complaint from the beginning of this is again, spending money we don't have, running deficits we cannot afford and running up debt that someone else will undoubtedly have to repay. I think the point the author was trying to make was that Chicago uses the affluent suburbs to fund it's pet projects and corruption. -

What will Daley's 2016 Olympics bring to the suburbs? :headbang -
As for the price, if this trade works out how we all hope it does, next years 1st rounder will be a low pick, so well worth it.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 05:47 PM) Its also great that he is a huge bears fan.he is? didnt know that.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 05:47 PM) This will actually be an interesting experiment in that regard. You can argue that a QB doesn't have a shot unless he has good WR, good O-Line, etc. But you can also argue that a good QB makes average WR look a lot better. We will see. Indeed we will see, and that's freaking AWESOME!
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 05:43 PM) Brandon Marshall is one of the top WR's in the league. YOu could argue that Cutler makes him better, but he's no slouch. Eddie Royal was a youngster that was brilliant. Again, Cutler might have helped but he had weapons. He had little running game though. kinda my point. Good, but how much is cutler and how much is individual tallent? Hard to tell.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 05:39 PM) http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d8048557c 2:47.......Hester was that open about 5 times this year and orton missed him....if Cutler can make that throw once a game Hester is going to be extraordinarily dangerous.. very true. Hester can out run any DB in the league. After last year, i really wanted him back as a return man... now, not so much.
-
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 05:36 PM) I think we need a solid #1 or #2. Hester is long range and Olsen is not a #1 WR. So, we need just one piece. If Bennett is that, then so be it. If it's a draft pick or Holt, it works for me. I want to amend that, Cutler threw for over 4500 yards with nothing special at WR. Some good players, but not "OMG". So, he could do well with the guys we have.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 05:32 PM) He had the arm strength, he was just incredibly inaccurate when it came to the long ball. yes and no. He had SOME, but I saw a big difference between Grossman and Orton in down field strength.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 05:28 PM) Bennett, Hester, Olsen, and White is a good starting point. There needs to be 1 more in that mix, possession type receiver, but it's a decent fit given the QB the Bears just got. This also probably just got Forte another 100-200 yards running just on its own, because now the safeties and CB's have no choice but to play back. You can't play an 8 man front against Cutler. Bennett - I'd like to, well, see him on the field before I declare him an asset. Hester - I like the deep ball with him now. REALLY lengthens the field. Olsen - He just got a lot better... and he was already good. White - Sorry, White who? I feel stupid. I think we need a solid #1 or #2. Hester is long range and Olsen is not a #1 WR. So, we need just one piece. If Bennett is that, then so be it. If it's a draft pick or Holt, it works for me. Forte - 1500 yards this year. No 8 in the box.
