  1. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 12:03 PM) i imagine he'll take owens spot after about a week or so agreed. Owens and BA will get an audition this week. If they dont pull it, ScottyPods is our new CFer.
  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 11:26 AM) I think that was a subtle way of him admitting "yeah, I blew it." Of course, Palin supporters, delusional as they are, think McCain blew it on his own, and she only added votes. Yeah, not so much. The polling data was there for all to see, and the truth will manifest itself for them during the GOP primaries. Palin added voters int he short term. That initial boost where McCain/Palin overtook Obama/Biden in the polling was shocking to me. I thought they would close the 9point gap, but not take the lead. but over time, she became a liability and it showed. The more she talked, the more McCain sank. Combine that with the debates, the bailout and the over all economy, he was done.
  3. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 10:38 AM) McCain just keeping it real and being honest, Palin supporters go apes***. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/...-leno/#comments I think shortly after he picked Palin, he realized he made a HUGE mistake based on advise from people who were supposed to single out the best possible candidate. But, he had to put forward a strong front, so he fought on, even after it became clear she was no where NEAR ready for the job. What was TRUELY startling about the Palin pick was the #3 reason who his advisers suggested her: "wow... just look at her". If you #3 reason is her looks, that's a loosing proposition.
  4. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 02:17 PM) Cant wait to see the GOP response. The GOP reviews are in... some positive, some negative.
  5. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 11:03 AM) http://www.redstate.com/jeff_emanuel/2009/...ops-100-staged/ Hmmmm. Seems to me the media would be all over W if/when he did this. But, this time its different..... and of course RedState.com always has 100% reliable and unbiased reporting? If you track the links, RedState links to TheMinorityReportBlog (reliability of this site?), which gets its info from Floppingaces.net (a site I've never heard from) who gets it's info from an unnamed source. Great reliable reporting if you ask me. And I get ripped for referencing the HuffingtonPost. At least they do some actual journalism instead of linking through different blogs.
  6. MLB ready to celebrate Jackie Robinson Day Ok, so I understand the importance of Robinson. What he did was important for the game... and the county. but do we REALLY need to honor him every single year? DO we really need to force everyone to wear 42? i can understand on "major" anniversaries like 50, 60, 70, 75... you get the idea. But we have to honor him EVERY year? come on. And of course, this is sooooo important, that Bud Selig needs to be there, oh wait, he wont be....
  7. Far right goes nuts over Obama's handling of the pirates, only to be proven to be fools just days... even hours... later.
  8. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 02:36 PM) I like that Ozzie is entertaining the Ramirez in center option I think Ramirez is a better SS, but if Gets becomes a legit 2nd baseman, than I really dont see much of an option. And it would be nice to have all three of those guys in the lineup. I wouldnt mind seeing Getz, Ramirez, and Becham batting 1,2,3. Yea, Beckham isnt your typical #3, but I think that combo of speed, power, and bat control would be awesome.
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 02:21 PM) Conservatives are something like split down the middle. I meant the GOP organization. I'd imagine it's something along the lines of "Obama has made America less safe today...." blah blah blah
  10. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 02:15 PM) Well Obama once again proves that he a communist-fascist socialist tyrant. clearly. Cant wait to see the GOP response.
  11. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 02:01 PM) Does Stone do the "Yes!" in stereo with Hawk when the Sox homer? not that I have heard. but I havent been able to watch too many games. hasnt today.
  12. Love Stone, hate Hawk, cant stand DJ, love Farmer. But odly, i think Hawk/Stone is a GREAT combo and DJ/Farmer is pretty darn good. Upgrade across the board.
  13. And there goes Wise. He'll be out for a while Hell of a grab.
  14. First time in MLB history teammates have hit "century" (100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700) homeruns in the same game.
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 12, 2009 -> 10:35 PM) Very true. I am a fiscal conservative and a churchgoer to boot, but not a social conservative at all. I also grew up a republican and still consider myself as leaning to the right, but the GOP's tendency to use fear to try and gain votes and tendency to cater to the social conservative part of their party has really turned me away lately. And I imagine i'm not alone. I am the same, but in reverse. I am a church going social conservative, but fiscal liberal. There is a reason I am an independent. It's hard to merge the two into any one party. One of the reasons I liked Obama is because I dont like the current GOP fiscal policy and I dont like their stance on universal health care. But at the same time, i dont like the Dem policy on Gay marriage... excuse me... "civil unions" and abortion. So, in any election, I have to decide who i think is the best for the current situation in this country. Right now, I felt that fixing the economy was more important that trying to ban abortion and gay marriage. Both of which are already to of the bottle and would be hard to put away. In 8 years, if the economy i strong and i dont think a GOP president would screw it up, I'd vote for one.
  16. Fox's Glenn Beck announces comedy tour Isnt his current show on Fox already classified as a comedy?
  17. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 12, 2009 -> 03:59 PM) Looks like the pirates got fed a stack of pwncakes for Easter. 3 pirates killed, one that was on the boat negotiating was captured and is in U.S. custody. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/piracy sucks to be the living pirate. Imagine that conversation: "Well, what are your demands?" "I want..." "oh hold on, all your partners are now dead and your hostage is free. You're under arrest." LMAO.
  18. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 11:07 PM) Perhaps they can't because of music licensing. thought crossed my mind, but it doesnt hurt to ask.
  19. I was going to send Brooks an e-mail suggesting the white sox open up a youtube account and post their "in stadium" videos on there. Anyone want to do that instead? Maybe someone who is a little more articulate than I.
  20. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 04:38 PM) But I do believe Rove said there was always someone in the room taking notes on the said "meeting(s)". he said there we people there to log the attendance. Notes? yes, but not every word. I can just picture the official record keeper: "Dude, Biden just TOTALLY ripped the Presidentz leadership skills".
  21. Glenn Beck is a loon. He was "tame" before heading to Fox. Now Fox is letting him run wild because they know it appeals directly at their base and he's gone completly ape crazy.
  22. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 11:53 AM) Noted plagerist and exagerator, Joltin' Joe Biden, claims he taked smack to the Pres all the time in the oval office, for hours! Um, dont' think so Joe, as you were never alone with the Pres, or in the oval office. Try again. http://rpc.blogrolling.com/redirect.php?r=...blogspot.com%2F Actually, Biden said in ONE meeting, he told Bush "no one is following you" in response to Bush saying he's a leader. It was one time, and could have happened at a number of meetings, he never said he was "alone" with Bush like Rove said he did, and the odds are Rove wasnt present at all of the meetings... even though he likes to think he was really the president.
