  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 07:43 AM) Couldn't they just use photoshop? ^^^^^^^^^^^^
  2. Statement from Louis Caldera, Director White House Military Office, on Air Force One flight over New York: "Last week, I approved a mission over New York. I take responsibility for that decision. While federal authorities took the proper steps to notify state and local authorities in New York and New Jersey, it's clear that the mission created confusion and disruption. I apologize and take responsibility for any distress that flight caused."
  3. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 27, 2009 -> 01:12 PM) I don't understand why anyone would need a land line anymore. I use it as a contact number for bills and such. I dont want them selling off my cell number.
  4. My wife and I just dumped our traditional landline in favor of Skype. We NEVER use the laneline and most of our personal calls go to our cells. So, we decided to go with Skpye as an answering machine and will be buying a Skype enabled phone sometime this summer so we can use it as a true landline. Anyone else tried this? or currently doing this? I think it's a nice alternative to overpriced landline services.
  5. CNN.com- What genius thought this was a good idea? Maaaaybe someone should have told the local news orgs to mention this last night.
  6. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 26, 2009 -> 07:31 PM) That was an e-mail wasn't it? I'm not sure how accurate those numbers are, and I doubt if they are. At the same time, I wouldn't be surprised (especially concerning the House). The report is a miss-mash of info and some of it is true, some is not, and others are hard to pin specifics down. http://www.snopes.com/politics/crime/congress.asp
  7. From ESPN.com- Gilbert projects as an explosive, one-gap upfield player who can disrupt plays in the backfield. He arguably has the most potential out of all the defensive tackle prospects in this class. He's quick and fluid for a 288-pound player. He's 6-5, so he can add more weight to his frame. That said, he needs to get stronger and improve his ability to anchor. We?re also concerned about his inconsistent effort.
  8. Anyone else intrigued by the Dolphins taking Pat White (QB/WR - West Virgina) in the 2nd round? Smells of Wild Cat to me.
  9. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 04:50 PM) One of my favorite parts of "History of the World Pt. 1" is her small part as a unemployment officer. bulls***ter!
  10. Knowing how the Bush administration worked, i'd be curious to see how many people were fired/replaced before it all became "not torture".
  11. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 03:49 PM) Except its on a Saturday, so it doesn't need to be in prime time as most people will be able to watch whenever. Add in the fact that starting it at noon still takes it into primetime anyways. I'm not saying it's logical, but I can almost guarantee that is why they did it. If it was 100% for the teams only, rounds 1 and 2 would be 15min and the draft would start at 10am. But it's not 100% about the teams. it about fans and views. Viewers dotn want to sit around for 15 minutes waiting for a pick and 3-5 hours for their team to draft.
  12. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 03:46 PM) Money from what? Its on cable TV on a Saturday NFL = Popular Draft = Popular Prime-Time = More money (regardless of cable or broadcast) NFL + Draft + Prime-Time = $$$$$$$$$$$$
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 03:37 PM) I don't get why the draft is starting so late, though, but it is. $$$$$$$$$ Prime-Time $.
  14. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 03:34 PM) Are you sure about that? Im pretty sure I heard the draft starts at like 3 pm central time I read the wrong start time (Day 2 starts at 9am) Day 1 starts at 3pm, per wikipedia. So the Bears draft at about 10:10pm... good lord!
  15. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 03:04 PM) What time will it be when the bears actually pick tomorrow? Teams are allowed 10 minutes for a first round pick, and 7 minutes for a second round pick. So, assuming no trades (which resets the clock) and every team takes the full time allotted, then the bears will be picking 7.2 hours into the draft, which is is sometime after 4:10pm central. EDIT: I read the wrogn start time (Day 2 starts at 9am) Day 1 starts at 3pm, per wikipedia. So the Bears draft at about 10:10pm... good lord!
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 03:14 PM) I think everyone here should be able to find something they like in this exchange. go Gore. He called Blackburn out and was right. Blackburn was trying to get Gore to say he'd profit from the bill and Gore wouldn't bite.
  17. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 12:20 PM) Is Barton just really, really dumb? I mean, he's linking the video, where he clearly doesn't get it. This will only work on the wingbats who support him no matter what. Anyone who actually watches the video and has a few brain cells will see this. God put the oil there, so Chu is wrong. Ok, so I come from a creationist background and believe that to be true. Even so, what Chu said is accurate, even if it only applies to future oil creation. If we use all out oil up, it will take MILLIONS of years to remake it naturally.
  18. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 03:05 PM) There was none, and there shouldn't have been. It probably said mostly the same thing. exactly my point.
  19. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 02:59 PM) b. She doesn't have a clue about analysis or the point of putting those reports out, and she and any other Republicans making an issue out of this would do well to just stop speaking. I'd be curious where the outrage was when the Bush DHS put out the report last time.
  20. QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 06:20 PM) I'd like to see the sleeveless home jerseys back at some point. ^^^^^^^^^^^^
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 02:35 PM) I'd take him for that. I'd offer a 3rd next year as well. agreed. But I worry about the cap implications.
  22. and Al Franken doesnt deserve to serve? He's at least sane. She's gone off the wall again: Bachmann: TSA is going to start picking pro-life, pro-gun conservatives out of the security line at the airport for extra scrutiny.
