  1. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 01:02 PM) Biden's medical records were released today. http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5h3STB5J...pRbWQAD93UC5VG0 They say he's in good health. yet nothing from Palin. odd. She should be the most healthy of the 4.
  2. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 12:04 PM) I'm shocked as well. Powell and the Trib. As for the Trib, I'm not. Call my cynical, but that's one of those "home field" calls. They'd probably have gotten a lot of crap if they didnt support him and the GOP would have said something like "his home town paper wont even endorse Obama".
  3. A CNN corespondent is reporting that McCain officials are saying off the record they are planning on pulling out of Colorado, New Mexico, and Iowa to concentrate on fighting for Pennsylvania.
  4. QUOTE (Texsox @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 07:10 AM) I'm dubbing this the Alpha Dog became Athomeboy thread and enjoying the irony of you finding fault. Interestingly he's gone FAR beyond anything I've done and I've toned it down in the last month.
  5. I worry the GOP, the far right, and the McCain campaign will begin to tear Powell apart. Also, we saw how good Obama was at rolling out endorsements during the primaries. I wonder if this has been in the bag for a while now (a month or more) and they waited until 2 weeks before the election to roll it out. Powell did imply he's been leaning towards Obama for a month or two now. Especially when there was the report over a month ago that Powell was on the verge of endorsing Obama.
  6. Powell had a quick press conference after Meet and... wow... he had some great lines in there. I wish he had been more concise answers because they would have made for great commercials. PS: Powell's home state.... Virginia.
  7. Colin Powell just endorsed Obama for President Says Obama offers a new set of eyes and a generational change. Also added McCain's extreme negativity really bothered him and factored in his decision.
  8. I thought there was a rumor he might retire.
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 19, 2008 -> 04:41 AM) Obama campaign received $150M in donations in September according to the email I received from the campaign this morning. Insane! :o He cant POSSIBLY use all that money between October 1 and Nov 4th. That's just nuts. It'll help pay for his 30 minute spot, but wow.
  10. QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Oct 18, 2008 -> 03:22 PM) Seriously, I had to mention it, these boots of hers are hot. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/...snl-appearance/ CFM Boots
  11. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 18, 2008 -> 01:35 PM) Caught me off guard there. she only reads newspapers from "Pro-America" parts of the country And she got what she had comin.
  12. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 18, 2008 -> 01:17 PM) Outside groups here =/= McCain campaign. It would be like attributing that "hey McCain is gonna die of cancer" ad to the Obama campaign. Not fair. thankfully that ad never gained traction. it was disgusting.
  13. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 18, 2008 -> 02:03 PM) Even a GOP Senator thinks the McCain camp is going too far. by the way, McCain decried sleazy robo-calls in 2000 and 2008... yet oddly hired THE SAME COMPANY to do his robo-calls that ran robo-calls against him in 2000.
  14. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Oct 18, 2008 -> 01:53 PM) Are you f***ing kidding me? The campaign isn't doing this s***. Come on. Can you please stop insinuating that crap? Then you wonder why people get sick of the RSO supporters that want to throw s*** all over the place to see what sticks. There might be some assholes out there doing this, but it's not the "campaign".
  15. Interesting note, john Williams on WGN said the movie is NOTHING like the TV teasers you see. The teasers make it out to be almost a mockumentery. But he said the movie is almost sympathetic to Bush. Now I might be more inclined to rent it.
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 18, 2008 -> 10:16 AM) Yeah, it wasn't the Sox idea. yea, I didnt knwo that until the last few posts. Interesting.
  17. QUOTE (The Critic @ Oct 18, 2008 -> 10:15 AM) From the linked story: What makes the incident even more bizarre is that Bachmann is in a close congressional race and just this past week offered warm words to the Illinois Democrat. "If the presidency would somehow go to Barack Obama, I would welcome him to the 6th District as well," she said after a debate. "As a matter of fact, I would put my hand on his shoulder and give him a kiss if he wanted to." If she is willing to kiss a known "Anti-American", I have to question whether or not SHE hates America!!!! JUDAS!!!
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 17, 2008 -> 10:55 PM) If I make the obligatory "once you go black, you never go back" caption here, nobody will consider me a racist right? go for it
  19. I'm officially dubbing this the "Alpha Dog needs to vent" thread.
  20. oh brother. Can I start a thread about Racist Hate Mongering Republicans? This is stupid even by my standards.
  21. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 17, 2008 -> 07:31 PM) I think doing it for Bears games would be virtually impossible. Not alot of people have orange coats. no doubt there. I'm not even sure I liek the idea of other teams stealing the Sox idea. But if we make it a Chicago thing, it might be kind of cool. but yea, cold weather outdoor games kinda screw that up.
  22. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 17, 2008 -> 07:01 PM) there are a fair amount of conservatives ready to throw in the towel in order to blow the whole thing up and start over. Not a large amount, but they are out there. Some days that includes me. I look forward to the 2012 fight between the Huckabee Religious Conservatives and the Romney Big Business Conservatives.
  23. So, the Sox ran a Blackout for the 163rd game and the entire playoffs. Today I hear the Bears are declaring an "Orangeout" for this weekends game since the Bears will be in the Orange Unis. Could this be Chicago's new trademark? Blue-out for important Cubs games. Red-outs for important Bulls and Blackhawks games. Just a thought.
  24. QUOTE (longshot7 @ Oct 17, 2008 -> 04:25 PM) Still amazing how many conservatives are endorsing Obama. Philly right-wing talk show host Michael Smerconish came out today in favor of Barack as well as those two National Review writers. Smerconish doesnt necessarily surprise me. I've seen him a lot on MSNBC and he's talked about Obama glowingly. Not that they agree on everything, but he has always liked him.
