  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 04:09 PM) True or not, great story. sadly, even if it's fake, it's entirely plausible.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 03:37 PM) Pure 100% pandering. actually, I thought I heard somewhere that possibly 60% of today's oil prices might be pure speculation. Heck, even the Saudis went "something isnt right here".
  3. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 01:17 PM) He is setting up any criticism of him and his record as racism. He has learned well from his mentors at his (former) church. He didnt event REMOTELY say that! He said people will try to make you afraid of him for reasons OTHER than his policy. His name and race WILL come up and he was pointing that out. It already HAS and it will again in the future.
  4. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 01:02 PM) Earlier I mantioned that Obama and his party would try to play the race card. I was mocked, that wouldn't happen, I was told. I said that they would do it and try to not be so obvious about it. I was wrong, they aren't even trying to hide it now. He's accusing republicans of racism before anythign even happens. Nice way to smear your opponent ahead of time. http://www.redlasso.com/ClipPlayer.aspx?id...36-b4296f2553f1 Sold by a vender at the Texes Republican Convention... Sold by an Online Vender... The Obama Sock Monkey Oh, and this too... He never said the GOP itself would say he's black. He said his republican opponents woud. It's already started. Not "hardcore" yet, but on the fringes. And already the "core" is trying to exploit fear of his middle name. Must I remind you of Bill "Barack Hussein Obama" Cunningham and Ann "B. Hussein Obama" Coultergeist.
  5. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 09:44 PM) No. It missed the foul pole and hit something behind it in foul territory there is nothing behind it to hit! DJ pulled out his binoculars and looked at the foul poll. There is nothing there. If it deflected, it deflected off the foul pole.
  6. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 07:42 PM) http://www.businessandmedia.org/articles/2...0620123425.aspx Dobbs of CNN calls for Bush to be impeached because of salmonella outbreak. haha I though that was hysterical. i saw it yesterday. Tomatoes? Out want to throw the guy out over tomatoes? I knew Dobbs was looney, but this tops the cake.
  7. Oh talk about American armed forces unity... Edging Away From Air Force, Army Adds Air Unit Classy move Army! To quote Cartman: "Screw You Guys... I'm Goin' Home"
  8. Beckham 1 for 2 with a run scored in the CWS today
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 02:05 PM) Brian Anderson still sucks. I've REALLY been rooting for him. But yea, he needs to go down to the minors.
  10. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 02:03 PM) alexei is a player I am s proud of him. I called for him to start from openning day and I feel vindicated
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 02:02 PM) I agree, and he's done a great job with the bullpen. He needs to realize that our starting pitching has been stressed so far this year, and he might need to watch out and try to limit their innings. I had zero problem with him pulling Danks yesterday, as Danks has struggled late in games. had it been an AL game, I bet he would have pitched through the 8th. But, in the NL you have to do it differently.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 01:59 PM) FWIW, I apologize for saying fire Ozzie now. I was caught up in the moment. He is doing a terrible job this weekend so far, but on the whole this year, he's been good. his remastering of the line up that lead to that hot streak earlier in the year was genius.
  13. are the cubes paying off the umpires this weekend? Blown Foul Pole HR call, 2 bad "swing" calls, and a biased stike zone
  14. QUOTE (Cowch @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 12:35 PM) Gordon Beckham's Georgia team's game is on right now on ESPN or ESPN2 idk. Anyway, it's better than this mess. I believe if the cubs can do it, so can we. So let's tie it up at LEAST. Beckham is 3 for 7 with 2 runs scored and a walk in the CWS so far this year.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 12:29 PM) Anytime we want pitch these guys inside would be nice. good catch. everything has been on the otside.
  16. now we know how to win. Just hit pop-flies to left. they are just drifting out.
  17. hey sox hitters, this is how you play baseball. Take what they give you! Dont swing for the fences on every pitch *cough* thome, crede, konerko *cough*
  18. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 01:23 PM) It wasn't a home run, it's a really poor angle they have. I rewatched the normal angle and slowed it down, and it didn't hit near it. And you could see on that replay they showed that it didn't hit the foul pole anywhere. If it was even close, don't you think there would have been any sort of argument? Whole Sox bench has the same angle. it hit the bracket. you ant see the bracket because the image is blurry and not well defined. But if you compare the impact point to the pole, it hit the bracket.
  19. QUOTE (DABearSoX @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 05:49 PM) I dont think it hit it....it was the camera angle...WGN was horrible all day long.... Hawk and DJ just showed the replay again with a live picture of the pole. The ball never went behind the pole, which means it would have had to have bounced off something just to the left of the pole, but there is nothing there to bounce off of. It looks like it pretty clearly hit a bracket and bounced off the pole. Home run!
  20. QUOTE (jackie hayes @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 09:54 AM) To be completely accurate -- the bolded part is not true. The entire first part of the interview is missing, and the transcript (and the linked video) picks up only after a commercial break. So there's more missing than that. Now, I don't find the argument that Fox simply forgot a big block of content very convincing, but anyway... good point. i just went back and compared the two. you are indeed correct. I guess the transcriber just "forgot" to do the first part.
  21. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 09:54 PM) Uh oh!! McCain and his RNC buddies better not open his mouth about Michelle Obama. John McCain on March 13, 2008 "I didn't really love America until I was deprived of her company." hmmmm.... you know that "fair and balanced" Fox News? Looks like they scrubbed THAT part from their interview transcript. Everything else is there, but that part "mysteriously" disappeared!
  22. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 08:50 PM) I haven't been impressed with either candidate being from Iowa. As far as I know, I haven't heard either candidate say anything or visit Iowa. I didn't expect McCain to visit since he seemed to blow off Iowa in 2000 and 2008, but I thought Obama would've come with all the campaigning he had in Iowa. Plus Iowa voted for him. He actually went to Quincy Illinois. Maybe he DID listen to the gov. and stay out of the state.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 08:43 PM) That would be an interesting thing to know. But if you're going to piss off the Borg...you're going to have trouble I don't care who you are. I miss 7 of 9. Something so HOT about her militant style, but sexy body. mmmm...
