  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 09:01 AM) I think it is ironic to look at yours and AHB's avys, while expressing outrage over this with a straight face. The least you guys could do is show a little consistancy. In 2004 I co-hosted election night coverage on a radio station in Chicago. I went OUT OF MY WAY to stay fair and look at all the angles on all the stories. As a journalist, it was my responsibility to be fair and report all sides. Of course I was pulling for Kerry in my private life, but publicly it was fair. So, dont judge unless you know the full story.
  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 08:39 AM) Just no. Sorry. MSNBC is definitely biased to the left (Olbermann is the biggest Bush-bashing Obama cheerleader out there), but there is no way in hell there is anything balanced or unbiased about Fox. Watch Hannity for 5 minutes and then tell me that. Some of the stuff I see is borderline slander hidden under the guise of "freedom of the press." Take the challenge and watch 24 hours. I dont think there is a "left of far right" host on the network. Heck, most of them are smug righties who lack any ability to see past their own nose. For the record, I am a central independant and even I see that Fox is far from fair. On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being far left.... MSNBC is a 3 or 3.5 CNN is probably a 5.6 or 6 Fox News is a 9.5.
  3. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 08:34 AM) Ever think they picked up the 'baby momma' quote from an outrage liberal? Judging by Fox "terrorist fist jab and B. Hussein Obama" News past track record... it was on purpose.
  4. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 08:24 AM) I know Fox News has it's biases, every station does. But Fox so far has been the most fair, and that's not just me saying that, many democratic officials have said that as well. yep... totally fair and balanced news...
  5. Just got this from my mother-in-law...
  6. Fight The Smears In a truly novel move, the Obama campaign has set up a new site explicitly engaging the ubiquitous online rumors about the candidate and his wife and offering Snopes-style debunkings.
  7. McCain's GOP Problems... A lot was made of Obama not getting support from ONE democrat. How about 14, and possibly as many as 26+ not supporting good ol' John McCain? http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/new-ga...2008-06-11.html
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 07:24 AM) FWIW Fox cancelled E.D. Hill's show over the "terrorist fist jab" comment. But you know that's a pretty empty token firing because Hannity, who says much worse on a daily basis, still has a show, and anybody who ever brings Ann Coulter on as a guest for any reason will never even so much as get reprimanded. Basically E.D. Hill is Cedric Benson. "You're not good enough for us to be having to deal with this from you, if you were better, it'd be ok." Hell, I'd rather have Hill around... she's far better looking than Coultergeist and insHannity
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) Wow, seriously? Wow. and they call themselves a legit news organization? That's low brow an "Daily Show" worthy, not "MSM"

  11. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 06:37 PM) Cedar Rapids is the 2nd biggest city in Iowa, roughly the size of Naperville, for comparison's sake for those of you near Chicago. This has never EVER been seen. With my wife being from Iowa City, I've got to know the area fairly well. I-380 = Dan Ryan was all I needed to hear.
  12. WANTED: Ark THis is the Press Citizen's Coverage

  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 04:28 PM) excuse me, but there is a huge difference from defending attacks against a man's service and character, and attacking a politician's policies in how he will deal with our country at war. Huge differences, in my opinion. As much as McCain is acting as if this is a misspeak, this is his policy. He wants us in Iraq for a long time, as we've been in Japan. He cares more about lowering casualties than withdrawing troops, he'll commit whatever is necessary to accomplish that. Yet, he's trying to act like this isn't his policy here.
  15. Flip-Floper Flips Again... McCain Backtracks on Social Security Tax Hike Amazing how the "maverick" is so bold when he doesnt have to actively court the far right, but changes his stance to appease those he needs. Talk about "old school" politics at its finest.
  16. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 12:45 PM) WOW!! Senate Maj. Leader Harry Reid comes out firing HARD at McCain... McCain “doesn’t have the temperament to be the president of the United States. Everyone who’s ever worked with John McCain knows of his temper. It’s explosive to say the least.”
  17. FYI: Jim Johnson has stepped down from Obama's vetting group to avoid further distraction.
  18. get this dope out of office. the more i learn, the sleazier he is.
  19. what ever happened to the Recall thing? Did that ever get voted into law?
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 12:31 PM) where was this John Kerry in 2004? hiding from the swift boats
  21. Lieberman: Pay no attention to McCain's Policy on Iraq... He Served in Nam
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 08:55 AM) I would bet at least 7 out of 10 Americans disagree with the statement he made. Let the fun begin!!!
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 08:55 AM) what's a hindo? oops! hindu. one letter can make all the difference.
  24. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 08:15 AM) Apparently the GOP hasn't gotten the hint that nasty smearing isn't working this year for them as we have seen in the Congressional races. But here we see them going at it again by attacking Obama's religion, insinuating that he's a crypto-Muslim. If I remember correctly, he went to a public school that also taught islam as part of it's curriculum. It's kinda like sending your kid to a private christian school if you are hindu because you like the education better.
