Montana Primary and South Dakota Caucus Thread
HuskyCaucasian replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in The Filibuster
THANK GOD this is over! -
QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 05:16 AM) From what I know of Larry Johnson (admittedly not a whole lot), he's not a credible person and it's plausible he'd try something like that. FYI: It seems the story has changed. First it was her in the pulpit at Trinity, now ii's Michele on a panel with Louis Farrakhan. hmmm... a changng story.

Might CLinton Bow Out Tuesday Night? Clinton camp converging on New York Tuesday, and shedding staff It's been thought that if/when Clinton does bow out, it would be in NY where she has make nice with her constituency in preparation for when her seat is up again.
-
I figured I'd cut this off before it got out of hand. For those of you who have seen any of the "right" blogs, there is a rumor that there is a video of Michelle Obama at Trinity going off on "whitey". However, it seems it very well might not be the case. http://www.mydd.com/story/2008/6/1/215329/6229 PS: neither the source nor this rebuttal are what I would call "accurate", but it is interesting to note.

Forgive me for my ignorance, by why is PR in limbo? Not a state, but not fully independent. They are still a territory of the US. I dont understand why we "hang on" to these territories. Does PR not want to be independent?

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 03:37 PM) The caucus system has to go. I don't think it's the only reason that Obama is going to win at all like some people do, but the system is pretty damn stupid. While I love that it helped Obama win the nomination, caucuses are NOT democratic and do not TRUELY represent the will of the people. The need to go.
-
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 02:51 PM) I live in one of those caucus states, so I suppose I don't really count as an American. Not to hillary. And technically a caucus vote really only counts as 1/4 or 1/20 of a popular vote. 4-20 people might be "linked" to a state delegate which is what they use to count the "popular vote" in caucus states..
-
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/200...01/1093667.aspx That wont help her popular vote argument. Even IF she gets 70% of the 400,000 in PR, she wont pass Obama in the popular vote minur MI. I have it at about Obama +19,435 when PR is fully counted. MT or SD wont give Obama much of a boost since they have such small populations.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 31, 2008 -> 06:24 PM) The Obama campaign was DAMN smart to tell their people all week to keep it cool and under control, with no protests. yea. They came out looking great. The most you heard from them was the occasional applause. -

RBC officially accpets the proposal that MI is divided 69-59 in favor of Clinton with each vote being counted as half. No mention of superdelegets. For: 19 Against: 8 Delegate Allocation" Clinton: 34.5 Obama: 29.5 Total Pledged Delegates: Obama 1723.5 (50.55% of all possible pledged delegates including PR, MT, and SD) Clinton 1587.5 (46.56% of all possible pledged delegates) Games Over... unless the Clinton campaign continues to throw a hissy-fit which is VERY likely. PS: Mr Icky claims Clinton was "hijacked" of her delegates and says Hillary Clinton is keeping her rights to take this to the credentials committee. If Clinton takes MI to the credentials committee and gets them seated in FULL and 73-0, Obama would need only 5 "uncommitted" delegates from MI if Obama gets 40% from PR, and 55% from MT and SD. If MI is seated "as is" and counted as half, it wouldnt matter. Clinton could get EVERY delegate from MI and still fall below the needed 50%+1. -

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ May 31, 2008 -> 04:49 PM) so what's the impact of that? Was that Hill's one last shred of hope? I'll give you the numbers once MI is voted on. -
