I think this depends on if they are in a playoff race towards the end of the season. Regardless, they should sell out at least 6. Opening day, two against the Yanks, and all three cub games. But if they play exciting baseball this number could double or triple.

sorry yeah, I realized that later in the day while out and about.

You know the one thing left out in this whole discussion is I thought the cubs pitching staff was suppose to be the ultimate, greatest pitching staff ever. And I thought Carlos Zambrano was suppose to be this all mighty number 3 pitcher who could easily be a number 1 on any other team. To me it seemed like our number 5 pitcher had better control, more movement, and was more mentally prepared then this great number 3 pitcher. I loved the fact that Zambrano thrusted his fist out of anger when he walked Konerko and then Gload followed with a homer. And to all who say Wright should be in the bullpen, he is having a very good spring training. And he did face the all powerful hitting starting lineup for the cubbies. All their starters, excluding Gruz but he's injured, played the first 5 innings. And he seemed to pitch mighty well. He has always had good stuff, it was just a matter of him actually going out and producing. Hopefully this year he will. Sox lost this game because of their young inexperienced fielders, just like it seems they have been losing all spring training games. These guys won't make the club this year, but it kind of worries me about the future. These youngsters they put in the late innings aren't making smart plays on the field nor are hitting. I am primarily talking about their infield. I think Anderson, Sweeney, and Reed are doing a great job. Another note given for this game should be the Sox only started 4 of their opening day starters. Olivo, Ordonez, Thomas, Lee, and Crede did not play. But I don't want to give that as an excuse, they still should have won that game. But all in all, I was happy with the game, except for the end result. But when the cubs scored it was garbage time anyways. I wasn't at all impressed with Zambrano, though I've never been, nor impressed with this great cubs hitting lineup that has no speed and features 5 righties in a row who all average between 100 and 150 ks. Not to say we don't have similar problems of course. Oh and one more thing, I was forced to listen to chip caray because my roomate wanted to. That guy is a complete moron. Besides basically saying that everyone on the cubs have a good chance at making the allstar team (Even Marty Barrett!!!) and not following the game (saying wrong calls), his annoying voice made me kringe every time he spoke. The worst though was when him and Ron Santo were talking about how they expect big things from AGonz. They expect him to hit over .270 and have close to 30 HRs. Yeah.... At least our anouncers are a little more practicle. The only thing that saves cubs announcing from being just a total farce is the knowledge of Steve Stone. I admit he is a very baseball savy person and respect him even though he does anounce for the cubs...

yeah, but man was it a speech. Whats funny is most cub fans don't know about it. They assume that Wigley has always sold out and never had issues like this.

I've talked on forums about this a week ago. First off, sheffield is going to try and play. second, Sox don't need minor league pitching talent, nor outfield talent. The only thing they'd trade Maggs for is a solid SP. And I don't think the Yankees will do that...

who cares. If he's injured, he's injured. Its not going to affect the Sox in anyway unless he is in june. sheez

Jackson and Grilli Though I know Rauch is off to a good start.
-
in chicago we say feather his ruffle Good ol Steve Fuller!!!!
-
they may have 1 year contracts, but none, I think, are elligable for free agency. therefore they are Sox property unless the Sox decide to dump them.

Wesley Willis will forever be in our mind and our hearts.....

The Sox as a club usually fair very well against lefties. Except for Valentin of course.
-
yeah, but I was so scared some other team would pry him away (a.k.a yankees). He is the best setup man in baseball and could possibly become a great closer. I love every day damaso marte!!!!

who really cares about Wood. Lets get back to more important topics.

I don't know if I am as optimistic this year as I was last, but I can say I am looking more forward to this year then last. I am so excited about this team chemistry concept. Yes the media of chicago is trying their hardest to disrupt it, but as it seems, its just making them closer. The one element I thought they never had last year, even in spring training was team chemistry. I loved seeing Frank have a smile on his face the first day of ST. I love hearing how Guillen is telling everyone to make a strong effort to get to know Shingo Takatsu. This team has so much potential to be fun to watch. This is the first year I am not going to care about any other team in a long time. Just the Sox. I think they will be fun to watch and read about. Surely, at least it will be fun to make our great sports writers eat their words....

why would you listen to his radio show???
-
I like Danny Wright in the bullpen
-
Do you think they have stuff like that on the YES network???

Actually, I have read many articles about how he is negative to his own cubbies. Just a couple of days ago he wrote some negative comments about Dusty. He is just negative about all sports teams in Chicago and frankly I am just tired of hearing bad comments. We should be more positive about our teams, and one of the main reasons we are not is because of the media. Maybe its time to show an example. Maybe start a petition or something demanding the firing of Jay Moriatti just so we can express the need to hear positive sports news.

Evidently the Sox pitchers and catchers are quite amazed at the nasty pitches Takatsu has. They talked about it on Smurf and Fred this morning. This could be very very good. I can't wait to see him pitch.

I still think Diaz can make the rotation

Where can Maggs go realistically aftre this year?
quade36 replied to sox-r-us's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I don't think I said I'd not like to resign him. He is my fav player, of course I'd want him to stay a Sox. -

geez I was giving the Sox as a team he would sign with. I truly think he'll have to, its the best scenerio for him and the Sox as an organization. -

I hate to say it, but I think he will resign with the Sox. 6 yr 72 mil. Reinsdorf will have to give in.
