QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 30, 2011 -> 03:20 AM) I'm a big fan of Bent Morel. Yeah, I fixed that on the lists.

I take nominations from everyone and you guys all vote out in the open. There's no underhandedness going on. If there was, I would have won one by now.

QUOTE (sircaffey @ Jan 29, 2011 -> 11:05 AM) Squeezing out the #2 would be huge. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 29, 2011 -> 04:01 PM) Definitely. Just make sure to eat lots of fiber.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jan 29, 2011 -> 07:33 PM) Message Bird? Funniest post of the year contender right there. Yeah. Everyone on a Message Bird has to type in Pigeon English.

Ozzie Roast
QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jan 29, 2011 -> 12:23 AM) Was this roast filmed? Apparently there was a roast of Tony Larussa a couple of weeks ago and it just aired tonight. It was not very funny. Unless someone used their cell phone, I'm going to guess "no." Rongey seemed adamant on White Sox Weekly that he couldn't repeat most of his part on the radio, so Comcast would have to edit it like crazy if they had film.

I like your ideas, but we want to keep it as positive as possible so, some of those wouldn't really work.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
Some meatball on Facebook is trying to convince me that with Deng playing well that the Bulls can "forget" about Melo because he's not needed and would kill team chemistry.

2011 Twins talent vs. White Sox talent
QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jan 28, 2011 -> 10:55 PM) Yeah, but Kubel was probably unlucky (low BABIP for him). Kubel's hitting style was really hampered by the new park. His shallow pop fly swing was perfect for the shorter porch Hefty bag RF. But RF at Target was really stingy for lefty power (unless you are a monster like Thome or Morneau).

2011 Twins talent vs. White Sox talent
QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jan 28, 2011 -> 10:51 PM) That's not far-fetched. Kubel and Thome had a combined 38 runs above replacement last year. Dunn produced 37.8 runs above replacement. Thome played above himself last year too. He'll get fewer at-bats if Morneau plays even close to 140 games next year.

NW Casinos
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 28, 2011 -> 10:48 PM) Blue Chip, Michigan City. Let me know if you want any info about hotel, casino, or stuff to do here in City. I've been to Blue Chip quite a few times. It's good, but Four Winds is much better, imo.

Super Bowl XLV Thread
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 28, 2011 -> 10:33 PM) I went down to Miami in 06' the year the Bears made it. Your best bet is to wait til right before the game and scalp them. You could have picked some up for that game for around $800-900, which was about half of what they were going for the afternoon of the game. We chose to pick a bar with a really solid open bar deal rather than go to the game. I think we paid $75 for all you could drink from about 2 pm until the end of the game, with a buffet at halftime. Wasn't it raining then? That would affect price too. I'd say that, with how large that Cowboys Stadium is, there should be nosebleed seats available for dropping prices on game day.

Official 2010-2011 NCAA Basketball Thread
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 28, 2011 -> 06:24 PM) Unheard of huh? Check out the recruiting rankings of the top team in the Big Ten to see where the bar currently sits. And do you really think IU has elite history? They haven't won a title since 1987, way before recruits were born and have only had one good team since the mid 90's. The entire claim to fame is the 5 titles they won many years ago. History is good and all, but i don't think it means much to recruits who don't have parents from Indiana that remember the old glory days. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 28, 2011 -> 06:29 PM) Maybe its something in the water in Indiana, but that sounds an awful lot like a college football program up in the northern part of the state. How old were their great grandparents when an Illinois team won a National Champonship in basketball?

New Buffalo is barely an hour and 25 minutes east of the Cell.

You might as well hop on 94 and go to Four Winds in New Buffalo. I've never heard much good things about the NW Indiana ones.
