Confirmed: White Sox claim on Alex Rios on waivers
Fields would be perfect to send to Toronto.

Confirmed: White Sox claim on Alex Rios on waivers
QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 10:33 PM) Naw, I dont get why any prospects would need to be added... They want to get rid of him, they want to resign halladay. This will give them the oppertunity to do just that It's a matter of good faith and mending relationships in bargaining. The Sox know that Toronto is in dire straits, but they don't want to totally take Rios without giving something in return. Think of it as an "I'm sorry for Sirotka."

I would think that Harrell, Link and Shelby would have to be considered in a deal.
- Happy Birthday zenryan!

Talk Chicago Sports
TalkBears is being run by a few non-Soxtalk people. I don't believe that they want to have their board go away.

Confirmed: White Sox claim on Alex Rios on waivers
No way would I give up Jordan Danks for Rios. Shelby, Gartrell, Morel, Cassel, Ely, Shirek, Jones, Link, Harrell, would be guys that I'd offer.

Confirmed: White Sox claim on Alex Rios on waivers
QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 08:16 PM) AL waiver order as of today: 1) KC 2) BAL 3) CLE 4) OAK 5) TOR 6) MIN 7) CWS 8) SEA 9) TB 10) DET 11) TEX 12) BOS 13) NYY 14) LAA Let me see... Cross out: Oakland, they dumped Holliday because of money. Cleveland's dumping salary. Minnesota wouldn't pick him up because of his salary. It's doubtful that Detroit would either. Angels have too many high OF salaries already. I doubt, KC, BAL, SEA, TEX would invest in Rios. The only A.L. teams that make some sense would be Chicago, New York, and Tampa Bay (claimed to block the Yankees and Red Sox).

Confirmed: White Sox claim on Alex Rios on waivers
I'd assume that they would want something for him. Perhaps Kotsay and a few prospects.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 05:47 PM) Acquiring Rios wouldn't necessarily mean the end of Wise's stay I'd imagine. Ozzie would demote Beckham before DFAing Wise.

Smoltz DFA'ed
I'd put him in the bullpen. He's been a successful closer before, and he still has good velocity.

Yankees maybe? Their OF is suspect.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 03:19 PM) If the Beckham thread didn't just get merged I'd totally do this. I don't want to get de-modded and banned though. I'd do it; but use one of SF1's old posts and edit the contents.
