  1. Rob Dibble left the game because he lost his ability to control his fastball, had no way to adjust to a lower speed, then he hurt himself. He had no backup pitches or enough control to use his 89 mph fastball effectively, so he retired. See: Frank Tanana for a guy who was able to change.
  2. Treble might be British pub slang.
  3. QUOTE(bmags @ Mar 18, 2008 -> 11:08 PM) i feel stupid, but what's that 'hit more 2s than treble 20's' line mean It's a darts/dartboard reference. Treble 20s are the inner ring in the 20 column. Worth 60 points, more than a bullseye, IIRC. The 2s are naturally only worth 2 points.
  4. I wonder if the real 2001 was a disappointment.
  5. Darn. Never made it to 2010.
  6. ND vs Geo Mason Ind vs. Ark Ok vs St Joes Clemson vs Villanova USC vs KS St Purdue vs Baylor
  7. QUOTE(BigEdWalsh @ Mar 18, 2008 -> 02:30 AM) I've never posted in this thread before, much less read much of it. There's some pretty weird s*** in here. Your sig is pretty "weird s***" on its own there Ed. You should read 2007's Catch-all. Even better.
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Mar 18, 2008 -> 01:48 AM) God and I are tight. This is your punishment for getting on my bad side last night. P.S. - This is the sequel to last night for me. I'm glad that the Herbert Perry sig got me on that list. I hate throwing up.
  9. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 17, 2008 -> 08:59 AM) IIRC Johan came up in the minors as a SS or an infielder, so hitting shouldnt be too much of an issue Did he change his throwing hand? You don't see lefty-throwing infielders outside of 1b.
  10. Reset the router/modem. Unplug the router from the power source, reset the modem by holding down the reset button in the back of it and after it "power cycles", plug the router back in.
  11. This seems like a very familiar topic to me for some reason.

  13. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 17, 2008 -> 02:25 PM) March 15th is considered the Ides of March. It doesnt mean much of anything, except that it is the middle of march QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Mar 17, 2008 -> 02:27 PM) and that I'm your vehicle!
  14. Ohhh s***! HAHA! I missed that part of the thread.
  15. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Mar 17, 2008 -> 12:38 AM) I, uh, I heard that there were easy places to go in the Bay Area if you want to gain muscle mass/strength. Anyone hear that? Two words Ryan. Cash. Only.
  16. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 11:32 PM) seriesly... um Ace...

  18. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 10:31 PM) ISU Police received a call at 12:55 a.m. today. Jackson is not an ISU student. The main problem right there. If you're not a student you shouldn't be on the campus after 11pm.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 10:14 PM) What the hell is the CBI? Is this just another tournament like the NIT? Is there really a need for two tournaments for those teams that didn't make the NCAA? Another way for schools to get $$ by exploiting their students and alumni.
  20. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 10:17 PM) It is? Pitt should wipe the floor with the Big Ten's 4th best team. I don't know about "wipe the floor", but Pitt is definitely on a roll.
  21. There was an article last month in Reader's Digest on college campus security and Iowa State was in the bottom 10, IIRC.
  22. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 09:46 PM) Yes, the Big 12 is boycotting the CBI. But the ACC is boycotting it as well and Virginia accepted a bid anyways. I'm sure that VA's president will be getting a phone call on Monday from the conference commissioner.
