  1. Move him to CF, sign Furcal and have Lillibridge/Getz/Nix battle it out for 2B.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 11:10 AM) Not 40 man, 25 man roster spots. These players have to stay with the major league team all year long. Even better point.
  3. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 11:07 AM) They all have 40 spots they're willing to give. KW is not. Good point
  4. Funny all these other teams seem to be finding interesting players....
  5. Think the Sox are going to grab anyone and if so who do you think they will want?
  6. KW was on the Score update saying he believes his team currently can win the division as the team stands... now of course what else is he going to say but I sure hope he doesn't really believe that.
  7. I hate those bastards....and yet here we are flying stealthy!!
  8. KW trades JD for Bailey then turns around and signs Furcal and Manny....the offense would be quite awesome with that and they would have some young potential in SP. You said crazy right?
  9. Heard this morning on the Score... CC is set to sign with the Yanks for 6 yrs/140 million... seems they are recession proof.
  10. Looks as though KC shot down the Greinke deal.... http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...artnerId=rss_kc
  11. Man I would love to land Grienke...the guy has an awesome arm. Too bad the Royals wouldn't deal him to us.
  12. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 09:17 PM) So it looks like a Peavy to the Cubs deal will actually come to fruition. Damn. Sure seems that way.. damn what ever team that helped them get this done.
  13. 9:00pm: MLB.com's Corey Brock says the legwork on this trade "has essentially been completed." No deal has been reached, but Towers says he's facilitated a three or possibly four-team deal. The third and possibly fourth teams (Orioles, Phillies) have agreed to players. There could be some haggling remaining on players sent from the Cubs to Padres. Brock says all Towers needs now is the go-ahead from Hendry.
  14. QUOTE (G&T @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 03:32 PM) I'd guess that the Cubs are the only team willing to pick up the $22M option for Peavy to waive his NTC. That would limit the suitors real quick. I was just thinking why the Sox weren't looking at getting Peavy.....then you just reminded me why...$22M option.. YIKES.
  15. I wonder if we will be hearing about a signing of Abreu or someone like that now that Dye is traded??
  16. I hope we get more than Bailey but it will be nice to see if he can turn it around here...
  17. For HER sake good thing she wasn't commando .... too bad for us she wasn't hehe
  18. Seems like forever ago people were concerned with Toews not scoring a goal...
  19. Paul White of USA Today was on XM radio and he mentioned that the Sox and Brewers are in some heavy talks about Jenks... With our IF set who would the Sox be asking for from the Brewers
  20. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Dec 5, 2008 -> 09:14 AM) You mean Erik Bedard? As a 5th starter? Drinking early aren't you? With health, Erik Bedard would be the ace of our staff, the guy has MASTERFUL stuff. Trouble is he can't stay healthy. I can't believe you meant Bedard as 5th starter. Regarding Cabrera, this is absolutely a KW type player...lots of potential, great arm, good stuff, and probably falling out of favor with the Orioles due to the fact he simply hasn't reached his potential yet. For a kid with the stuff D-Cab has I'd take a shot at this guy, especially if he comes cheap. Drinking a lot earlier these days Anyway, the reason I say Bedard as a 5th or even 4th is due to his injuries only. I know he has great stuff but if he can't stay healthy how can on depend on him as an Ace??
  21. Here is another pitcher who might be a decent #5...Jimmy Gooble. He was just cut loose as well. I would rather take a shot on Bedard or Cabrera myself for #5. Maybe
  22. They finally break down and sign CC!
  23. Well that should make OC's choice easy then...
