QUOTE (Cali @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 09:33 PM) Guess I gotta take Braun off my list of guys I use when complaining about the White Sox inability to draft and develop super-star talent... lol, wut?

Too pathetic for words.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 03:59 PM) I heard Gammons say last week that they have interest in Gonzalez and and that would allow them to deal Hamels. Not out of the realm If there's even a shred of validity to that rumor, all it would mean is that the Phillies are attempting to create another fearsome 4-some for 2012. The Phillies trading Hamels makes about as much sense as the Padres attempting to sign Pujols.

It is now official: I hate Tim Tebow more than Justin Bieber. I'm done with all things ESPN for the rest of 2011. -
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 03:32 PM) I don't think Hamels re-signs with the Phillies and I'd be surprised if they just lets him walk away. That's nice. And he's still not going anywhere in a trade. The Phillies are in full-blown win-now mode, as they should be.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 03:20 PM) I can see the Phillies dealing Hamels if the return for Gonzalez is pretty good. The SP market looks like Tor, Tex, NYY, Bos, KC and Cin are darkhorses. Pitchers on the market, Gonzalez, Danks, Floyd, Darvish, Garza, and maybe Hamels. I think Gonzalez goes to Tor, Darvish goes to Tex, Garza to Bos, Hamels/Danks to NYY/KC, Floyd to Cin. Please stop.

QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 03:09 PM) Doubt it. Word is the A's want kings ransom for Gio. They're one of the few teams with the assets to pull it off without crippling their system.
-
Ahhhh. Then that makes sense, I guess. I thought the league was rejecting the deal. That is too much.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 02:07 PM) Stern has screwed the Hornets. So they would've received Gordon and the pick, correct? I'm asking because I thought that's what I heard on the radio just now.
-
OK, wtf? That Hornets/Clippers deal was legit. Eric Bledsoe? This fell apart because of Eric Bledsoe? I guess any package that doesn't include Kevin Durant is not going to suffice.
-
That'd be some kinda offense with Prince.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 01:04 PM) Thats not true, a team that would rely more on running the ball would do better. A team like the Giants could be tough match up in the cold, considering GB only beat them by 3 points in good conditions with a healthy Greg Jennings The Giants? Their running game sucks this year. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 12:26 PM) That's what they said about the 2007 Patriots Well to be fair, the Giants beat them in a neutral setting. I just can't see any NFC team going to Lambeau and winning. -

QUOTE (TheHugeUnit @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 12:20 PM) Oh my bad still Butler had a good season last year and didn't Alex Gordon as well? I'm not too certain about Gordon tho. I think he just meant as far as '11 impact goes, the Tigers had the three best players in the division. I don't have a problem with that. -
I still think the Yankees ultimately stand-pat and make a mega-play for Hamels or Cain next winter.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 12:20 PM) I'm still concerned about New Orleans. I know they don't play as well on the road, but they are the one team that can keep up with the Packers scoring. Yup. The only way to beat the Packers is to score the football. You're not going to beat them 14-10. I know the Bears were playing well before Cutler got hurt. But I never bought them as a viable SB threat. Not with their WR core and o-line. -

QUOTE (TheHugeUnit @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 12:09 PM) DUDE. Mauer, Masterson, Kipnis, Butler and tons of the Royals other young studs are better than Valverde. This guy is so overrated it blows my mind. The only stat he's good at is the Rippings your shirt out of your pants at the end of the game stat. Well, he did say "had" the three best players in the division. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 12:09 PM) Yeah, they've had it since like 2005. I see. Well then it's not nearly a slam dunk as just going with Gordon. I like Gordon. But next summer's draft is deep. And the Wolves figure to suck again.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 10:31 AM) David Aldridge @daldridgetnt 2 mins Reply Retweet Favorite · Open Per a source who has been briefed on NO-LAC negotiations, the Hornets have to choose between the Minnesota pick and Gordon. Can't have both. Gee, let me think on that one. Is that pick non-protected?

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 11:29 PM) I didn't think it made any sense for LA to give up Gasol and Odom for Paul unless they absolutely knew they were getting Dwight anyways. You just can't depend on Bynum as your only legit big, and they have ZERO depth. This situation with Odom for crap from Dallas confuses me too. I'm assuming that it's to get another young asset or two to get Dwight. That said, what the hell are you going to be left with? Don't you kind of need more than Kobe and Dwight? I'm guessing the deal is Gasol, Bynum and whatever Dallas gives them for Dwight and Hedo. So that would leave them with something like... PG- Fisher, Blake SG- Kobe SF- Hedo, Peace, Barnes, Walton, Ebanks PF- Character C- Dwight That roster is pretty god damn awful outside of the two superstars. They'd definitely need to find some other bodies up front, you can't roll with Dwight and f***ing Derrick Character up front. I'm not sure if that's even a top 5 seed in the conference.
-
As far as I'm concerned, David Stern saved the NBA. It would've been an atrocity to let that initial pathetic trade go through. Sorry, Laker fans. You got Kobe for Divac because Kobe's b**** ass refused to play for any other team but LA. You got Pau for bloody tampons (though the other Gasol has made that trade look less pathetic). No Chris Paul for you.

QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 07:54 PM) I love when people automatically rise up and say.... Frank did it clean!...Paulie did it clean!.... You don't know these people!!!! You have no idea. I have no idea. It's better to just hope they didn't, but say nothing. Sorry, I had to get that off my chest. Oh, and I'd say strip Braun of his MVP, but whatever. Bulls***. Frank was clean. I'd know otherwise. I get special powers when I'm intoxicated.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 07:02 PM) In other news, Paulie becomes more of hero to me whenever another person is busted. And Frank.
