  1. 0.41 ERA, 0.27 WHIP, 0.96 BAA, 8 HLD, 2 SV, 22 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 28 SO, 0.41 BB/9, 11.45 K9. Those are his numbers since his call-up. He's been the filthiest RP in baseball since then. His stuff is so good you can't even describe it. He's projected to be a starter, but he's been so good in his role they might have to leave him there. The Braves really dropped the ball on that Teixeira trade (and the return they got when they traded him to the Angels was absolutely terrible). Imagine Feliz paired up with Tommy Hanson right now? Not to mention Elvis Andrus. These are the kinds of trades that can set franchises back for years. Not trading away guys like Brandon Allen and Nick Swisher. lol. Edit: I see I spelled his first name wrong. Can a mod please fix?
  2. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 03:22 AM) How'd Huddy look? Obviously statistically he was pretty solid but I would have loved to see his debut. He looked pretty good. FB looked good with nice movement. Off-speed stuff looked alright (although the gun was all messed up, as they had his off-speed stuff clocked at like 62 MPH). Take it with a grain of salt, though, as the Red Sox had pulled all their starters and inserted their scrubs by the time Hudson came in. I liked Nunez as well. He's got a really nice slider.
  3. QUOTE (north side chi sox fan @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 09:12 PM) We gotta put up some more runs... cards have 14 That team is flat scary. They transformed the second they added Holiday.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 08:15 PM) Just because Soriano is an absolute dog and the Cubs are a bad team doesn't mean they have quit. They just aren't good. The Sox absolutely quit on that road trip, even the wins the last 2 games on the road trip were handed to them by their opponents. How does one determine when another teams "quits."? What do you see? What are the signs? Why did the Sox "quit" while another team like the Cubs didn't quit but are just bad?
  5. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 09:04 PM) Is it possible kotsay isn't awful? Maybe he just was in a bad division for hitters last yr He's serviceable as bench guy. That's all.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 08:44 PM) Pods really is or has become a fine hitter. Way to wait on that slop. Nice hit. Too bad he's one of the worst defensive left-fielders I've ever seen. It negates his offense to a large degree. And I'm one that loves Pods.
  7. This Red Sox offense give me chills. We could be up 15-0 and I still wouldn't be comfortable.
  8. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 08:03 PM) i miss the real carlos I'll give him this year because of the injuries. But next year is huge in regards to if he's really legit or was he just a 1-year, injury prone wonder.
  9. We're smokin' Byrd's sorry ass. I didn't expect this.
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 07:45 PM) If only Getz can get on more. He'd make a hell of a leadoff hitter. He can turn a lot of walks and singles into doubles. Totally agree. He's the type of player I've wanted on this team for years. If only he could get that OBP up to about .350.
  11. Alex is definitely pressing, IMO.
  12. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 07:30 PM) Doesn't look like Freddy has the good velocity today. Decent movement, but he's got it around the mid 80s instead of the high 80s in his two previous starts. Gameday has his fastball at 88 MPH. What do they have it clocked at on the tube?
  13. I just tuned it. Can somebody explain why AJ is hitting third?
  14. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 12:58 PM) It's very simple. Rios was good, but now sucks. Wise always sucked. BA sucked, but was much more of a viable option as he provides as good of defense as Rios, sucks as much with the bat, and costs pennies compared to Rios, but again, he sucks. All in all, Rios was not an answer, shows that, day in and out, and now we're paying him as much as PK. I didn't think it was possible for you to top "Ben Gordon is every bit as good as Brandon Roy." But you somehow did it.
  15. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 04:53 PM) I thought we were one of the best teams in the NFL against the run. We were ranked 6th in the NFL against the run last year. Not sure where Steve was getting at.
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 11:22 AM) Of course it isn't. But whenever you add a franchise QB who can change your team's offense, improve your linebackers, offensive line, and own one of the easiest schedules in the NFL with 7 easy wins on it, you SHOULD be better than you were last year. Again, the unpredictably of the NFL makes schedule rankings meaningless. Now there's no denying that we've upgraded the QB spot, obviously. But how do we know at this point the offensive line is improved? We're not getting the Orlando Pace of 2001. Most Bear fans, including myself, had never even heard of Frank Omiyale before we got him. Chris Williams is basically a redshirt freshman this year, and he will have to adapt to a new position. I feel pretty good about Kreutz and Garza (although Olin ain't gettin' any younger). I just don't see how anybody can say the line is better than last year going in. I love our LB core. Especially if Brian can get back to being Brian. But it all begins and ends with the D-line. And our secondary scares me to death.
  17. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 04:01 PM) Blount suspended for the whole season. I'm glad this is the result, I thought he'd get off easy. Also, thanks to the kid for not coming to FSU. If that was us, it'd be breaking news on ABC, CBS, and every other station out there. Ridiculous. I could see 3 or 4 games. But the whole year? GMAB.
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 05:41 PM) Happy birthday! Remember when opening gifts to lift and then pull. This is some post of the year material right here. lol. Happy b-day, guys!
  19. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 07:00 AM) It's not automatically assumed, but it shows why the arguments that they don't have a chance don't work because by just about every measure this team was worse last year and was a bonehead play away or two from making the playoffs. Who said they didn't have a chance? They could go 14-2 and win the whole thing. I'm just saying that going into the season that this team has A LOT of legitimate concerns. And for me, last year means nothing. We're playing a brand new schedule (except for the teams we play in our division, obviously). Different players, coaches, systems, ect, ect, ect. The NFL is easily the most unpredictable of the 4 major sports (I guess hockey is a sport).
  20. I'm actually more excited to see Nunez than Hudson. We need at least 2 dependable arms in the 'pen next year. I'd really, like most, prefer that we don't have to go out and overspend on a position that is so inconsistent from year to year.
  21. Now I've been drinking a little bit. So I could be reading this wrong. Did somebody actually have the audacity to compare Alex Rios to Brian Anderson?
  22. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 02:35 AM) Dear lord.. Take that Jerry Owens (In the INT league no doubt). I love me some Desmond Jennings. Still kinda hold a grudge with us not drafting a kid who was literally right in their own backyard in Birmingham. Then again that was in 2006 which was a dark time for our org. as far as drafting. BTW.. Sergio Santos is terrible. Desmond Jennings Tim Beckham Wade Davis Matt Moore Jeremy Hellickson These are five of the top 'spects in baseball (as I know a prospect lover like you already knows). TB has an absolute embarrassment of riches right now. I know they had the luxury of all those high round picks all those years they were terrible. But you still have to make the right pick. And that's certainly not as easy in baseball as in say a sport like basketball.
  23. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 01:27 PM) True, but check out his stint in Charlotte. Give him a year in a majors - or maybe just two months - and then let's see if he's striking out at similar pace. You missed the point. I wasn't even trying to hate on Allen. Point was don't post some random HR as (AHA! See! Brandon Allen really is god!) and ignore the negatives.
  24. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 12:25 AM) Wow what a sucker punch from that Oregon player. He is going to be suspended for a long time. I was LMAO@that s***. But Blount was wrong and more than likely will get suspended. Boise State was pretty damn impressive last night. They held on to the football for over 42 minutes. And Kellen Moore is a stud in the making. I really like the Broncos this year.
  25. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 06:06 PM) It's not like the WR core and secondary were any better last year. In fact, it pretty much couldn't have been worse. Yet, that team finished 9-7 and was a game away from the playoffs. Seriously folks, stop trying to rain on other people's parades when the same team minus Jay Cutler won 9 games. QUOTE (rangercal @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 01:03 AM) How about the Bears finishing 9-7 last season and adding a few major acquisitions without any significant losses, on top of the 32nd ranked schedule. (though, I will be the first to admit the schedule is much tougher than it looks mainly because Green Bay might be the best 6-10 team I ever seen.) I really hate this line of thinking. So because we went 9-7 last year and added Cutler it's to be automatically assumed that will be better? It's not that simple. Last year is over. Totally different circumstances, schedules, ect.
