  1. Can somebody again tell me why Coop and Jose felt the need to mess around with new arm angles when he was already dominating?
  2. QUOTE(GOD @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 07:13 PM) That's my problem with Pods the guy has great speed but doesn't use it unless he's stealing bases. He doesn't even use it then. Not lately.
  3. I still think we're gonna get to Verlander soon. Jose needs to keep the score right where it is.
  4. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 07:06 PM) Pods gonna f*** up a huge RBI chance and make me hate him even more. He actually hits well with RISP.
  5. Nice piece of hitting by Cintron. C'mon Pods!
  6. Jose just need to hold them down. Will get a few more off Verlander. He doesn't look that good.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 06:43 PM) Pods is now 4-46 vs the Tigers this season. I can't defend him right now. He's been absolutely brutal since the all-star break.,
  8. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 06:41 PM) I looked at a thread and you posted that I'm one of the most pessimistic posters. That is simply untrue and unfair, especially considering the title of the thread you started. That's the way you come off to me. And did you even read the thread I started?
  9. Nice pitch by Jose. 2 runs is not too bad. He's gotta hold them down for a while now.
  10. Jose really needs a K here. Inge is a k machine.
  11. Jose hasn't been the same since Coop started f***in' with his arm angles.
  12. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 06:30 PM) It's amazing how fast this staff blows leads..... It's 1-0 in the second inning. I wouldn't call that blowing a lead.
  13. I'll be happy if Jose hold 'em to one here.
  14. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 05:40 PM) Is Broadway pitching today?
  15. I actually wish I could watch this. When was the last time Charlotte won a division title?
  16. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 05:34 PM) The A's are 25-11 since the ASB, and have a better record than Boston. They have the 5th best ERA in the majors, and it's 2nd best in the AL. FWIW... And they've got Frank Thomas.
  17. QUOTE(cgaudin @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 12:01 PM) I think the Twins have much better pitching than the Sox. If they hit consistently, I'm sorry to say that they will likely overtake us. That bullpen of theirs is lights out. I hope Liriano doesn't come back till next season, or we're in trouble. Remember, our last 3 games are at Minnesota. They don't have "much" better pitching. They've got Santana and Radke as far as the rotation goes. If we can just get 3 of our 5 guys going, I still like our pitching over theirs. I like their bullpen over ours. But that's only because Neal Cotts has become Damaso Marte. As far as Liriano goes, even if he comes back, nobody has any idea of how good he'll be. If he comes back and pitches like he was earlier in the season, then we're in trouble.
  18. Can't we just all get along? Look, we're ALL Sox fans here. From the most pessimistic (fathom, dickallen, Milkman) to the most optimistic (jphat, heads, kap). That much is certain. We all love and cheer for this team with everything we've got. Do some overreact some time? Yes. Hell, maybe I overreacted in creating the thread I did yesterday. I don't really care. It's how I felt at the time. That doesn't mean we don't back this team 150%. For the most part, I can only think of two or 3 people around here that have given up on the season. Those kinda people are not really fans. You really want to see some overreacting? Go check out a Yankees or Red Sox board when they're not going well. That kills anything that ever goes on around here. There's absolutely nothing wrong with calling out a player or team when they're not performing. You don't throw them in the trash when they're struggling. I'll never be down with that. But some criticism is fair.
  19. Umm, it would help to know what board you're talking about?
  20. Well, we're playing the one team that for whatever reason we seem to own. We really need to take 3/4 in this series.
  21. I'm just glad Kenny Williams is our GM. I know he doesn't give two s***s about 2005.
  22. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 04:35 PM) My comment was posted in general to anyone that posted in this thread and felt that they "no longer could take the pain of being a supporter of a team with the 3rd best AL record and in the lead for the WC." If my comment does not apply to you, then you dont have to worry about it. My problem is that people believe that last year was the norm, not an exception. Last years team happens to a city maybe once, a team that outside of a core of people no one thought would do anything, becomes the best team and basically dominates the playoffs. That is not normal. I just cant stand that people act like they are entitled to be given a winner. I was a Sox fan when they were in 2nd, when they were under .500, no matter what. Your a fan, not because the team owes you anything, but because you want to be. I see what you're saying. I agree with most of it. I, for one, don't think I'm entitled to anything. I've been a Sox fan for 15 years. I've had my fair share of dissapointments with this team (save last year). However, as a fan, I won't accept anything less than a return to the playoffs. It would be a complete disaster if a team with this level of talent didn't atleast get to the playoffs. Does that mean I'm gonna jump on the Yankees bandwagon if they don't make it? I could've done that years ago if I was that kinda fan. I bleed White Sox. I'll support them 'til the day I'm 6-feet under.
