Bulls vs Bobcats
QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 10:52 PM) Does anybody think the Bulls can take the division this year. Sure. If we get moved to the Atlantic.

Bulls vs Bobcats
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 10:57 PM) I'd say there's a major difference between the two. Well, of course. One game was easily more important. I just think about that game whenever I see a team rally from a big deficit.

Bulls vs Bobcats
Awesome comeback. Did anybody keep thinking of Arizona/Illinois as it was unfolding? Anyway, even with the win, this team has some problems. Size is gonna be an issue all season long. We just don't have a lot of it. We got pushed around for most of the game. And, low post scoring is also gonna be a problem. Unless Sweetney can provide that consistently, we're gonna live and die by the jumpshot.

Couch says: Sign Frank for $3M
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) Still missed 15 games, almost 20% of the year. And he's out the first month of this season.

Couch says: Sign Frank for $3M
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 04:07 PM) Brian Anderson. Put him in the Carl Everett role from this year - spelling Frank every 2nd day, and spelling an outfielder every 3rd day. He'll pick up somehting like 400 at bats, plus or minus 100, improve our bench, improve our outfield defense, and improve our team speed. Well, if Frank only got 200 at bat's, that probably means he suffered another season ending injury. I'd piss my pants if Brian Anderson became our full time dh.

Couch says: Sign Frank for $3M
QUOTE(3E8 @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 04:01 PM) Why not sign Frank just for the chance he'll give us 200 AB's next season? And what are our options those other 3 to 4 hundred at bat's at dh?

Loudest Moment in the Playoffs?
I thought when Frank went out to throw the first pitch before game 1 against Boston was the loudest.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 03:37 PM) This team just won the world series. Its not a time to be nice and cuddly and just relax. Its a time to make an upgrade and do whatever you can to give your team the chance at defending the crown. Next season is going to be harder, every single team will be gunning for us. Resigning Frank and finding another lefty gives the Sox nothing better than they had this year, which was Carl Everett. People, get your heads out of your butt and realize Frank is not going to be healthy for an entire season, heck, you'll be lucky if he's heatlhy for half a season. A world series team can't pin its hopes (especially one with a not so great offense) on a DH that will only play half the season. It needs to make an upgrade, a guy like Mark Texiera (probably best case and I can't see a chance in hell of it happening because the Sox aren't going to deal any starting pitcher not named Duque this offseason), however Carlos Delgado is an option. Manny Ramirez could be an option. Brian Giles could be an option. These are all guys that have a history of being healthy and flat out producing. Frank Thomas hasn't put up a seasons worth of production in a couple years and there is no reason to thing he's going to be able to do so next year. I expect the Sox to resign Konerko or find a similar player to him (via trade or FA) as well as to sign or trade for a very good DH (doesn't necessarily have to be a full time DH either). Anything else will be a dissapointment in my mind. The Sox had one major flaw during the season and it was DH, this off-season they will see payroll increase and they need to fill that one hole (not that others won't open up, cause injuries and guys just not playing to their capabilities are always possible). Jason, I couldn't agree with you more. Everybody loves Frank. He's by far and away the greatest offensive force this franchise has ever had. But now is not the time to get all sentimental. You've got to do what's best for the team. As you said, everybody will be gunning for us next year. I hate to say this, but the Indians scare the living dog s*** out of me. And I don't see us jumping out to a 15 game lead next year, although it would be nice.

Bulls vs Bobcats
This is a game we should win at home. But the Bobcats do have some solid talent in Okafor, Felton, Knight, and May.

NBA Rankings
I think the Bulls could possibly match what they did last year if only because they won't start the season 3-17 again. Atleast I don't think they will. But I agree about the Curry factor. Unless Sweetney steps up and proves he can be a legitimate low post threat, losing Curry will be big. I do expect guys like Hinrich, Deng, and Gordon to all be better in 06.

ESPN ranks Sox #2 in Offseason Rankings
How does a team that just won the World Series a week ago get ranked 2? I know the Indians are good, but c'mon now.

Politte's option exercised, Everett's Declined
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 05:20 PM) I swear to God, if Widger isn't back next year... Qwerty would go Columbine if that happened.

Own up!
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 05:51 PM) I remember someone said that he didn't even want the sox to make the playoffs at one point. Damnit, I was hoping everybody forgot that I said that. I didn't mean it. That was just my emotions talking.

Politte's option exercised, Everett's Declined
QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) I for one could care less if the cubs sign Furcal...why do we continue to focus with things over there?? What have they won lately? But they have more fans.

Own up!
I'm guilty of doubting this whole team. I'm ashamed of myself for being so negative during the tailspin in September. I'm just glad they made a fool out of me in the end.

Politte's option exercised, Everett's Declined
QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 02:39 PM) Perhaps he'll want to play with a team with some recient post season success... All the more reason to sign with the Cubs.

The White Sox
It's going on 5 days and it still hasn't hit me yet. Whenever I'm listening to the score and I hear "Home of the World Champion Chicago White Sox" I get chill bumps.

The Cubs next year?
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 12:28 AM) The Cubs already had their chance and they f***ed it up. '03 - Cubs (Up 3-1 in the NLCS and f***ed it up) '04 - Red Cubs '05 - White Sox '06 - Indians '07 - Pirates I understand what Mike Downey is getting at here but it's just not gonna happen, the Cubs' year was 2003 and they f***ed it up, it's their own damn fault. Exactly.

Just picked up the Sunday Tribune and Herald.
The Trib has an awesome 26 page section titled "Salute to the Sox. It's very nice. It has a lot of cool pictures. The Daily Herald also has a special 24 page section looking back at the entire year. Just wanted to let those know who don't usually get those papers. I think they're very cool to save and look back at in the future.

The Evolution Of Joe Crede
I'll take .250 from Crede as long as he plays that gold glove caliber defense.

Nice tidbit about our MVP

The Season is Officially Over!
I learned to never, ever doubt Ozzie's methods again. That's one of the main things I'm gonna take with me from this season.

Parade overview
QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) The part of the motorcade I saw was great. We were right where the trolleys stopped before turning onto LaSalle. Yelled some stuff to AJ and Bobby. The rally was s***. Couldn't get anywhere near it, couldn't see or hear a thing. The only thing I saw was a bunch of dips***s climbing on the Trio Video truck. I'd give the entire deal a B-. That's the main reason I didn't go. I knew chances of actually getting close to anything were slim and none. I do have the entire thing on tape, though.

Top 10 games of Regular season
The game where Brian Anderson hit two bombs against the M's was one of my favorites.
